I'm Puerto Rican this is all alive and well in the island and the bomba music is indistinguishable from its African counterpart the African culture is still alive and well in the island goes to show how strong our cultures they took our language they took us away from the motherland but they couldn't take our music and this is also how slaves would communicate between one another and they would talk about rising up against their masters and traditionally a Rum Barrel drum is used to play Boombah
