Well done video, I really like that you are still going strong on the APS-C setup and didn’t follow the „I must have full frame to be competitive“ trend 👌🏻
thank you! Yea I'm still a strong supporter of APSC and truly believe you can get v far with "medium" level gear - that doesn't mean I'll never upgrade but it'll likely be the newest sony APSC 7000 or whatever it is once it (hopefully) comes out
So this is what you've been up to! These shots are amazing, especially the nighttime ones, I'll never get bored of those! Looking forward to the next video with the telelens 👌
I’m thinking of getting the A6700 and this lens for street and also for portraits. How is this lens for portraits? I also shoot Fuji but want to hop into Sony. Great work!!!!
I personally don’t use it much for portraits because I have my sigma 30 & 56mm F1.4 lenses for that purpose - the Tamron is certainly usable for portraits but not ideal due to F2.8 minimum aperture. Especially in low light it can struggle
I use watchluke's presets mostly! See how much you can sell the lens for, then see how kuch the tamron is and decide if the money is worth the extra 20mm
thanks! I actually havent tried it - I remember seeing it when deciding on what zoom lens to buy and ended up with the tamron because it has a bigger zoom range - do you have one?
@@JimmyShixin I do! I actually bought the tamron as well but decided it was too big. The sigma is much smaller and from what I could tell the picture quality was the same.
Would it be possible to just get away with using a 27mm focal length or do you find yourself needing the extra reach and the wider angles often for street photography?
What lens is this? 27mm sounds rare as a lower limit - also is this APSC? Remember the crop factor For me even 17 (24mm on full frame) isn’t that wide to be honest and I often switch in my Samsung 12mm
No problem, gotta start somewhere 📸 So the F number that comes with the lens is actually the LOWEST possible F value, where it lets in the most light - this is also what they mean with the lens is "wide open" and therefore letting in the most light. A side effect of this is that the backgrounds blurry and pictures brighter. So this means that you actually have all F values ABOVE the lowest F number. So for my F2.8 lens its LOWEST aperture is F2.8, but you can also shoot it at F4, F8 etc Hope this helps!

thanks man! NYC was mad fun to take photos in :)
do you think that the size/weight is over exaggerated on an APSC sony? camera?
What do you mean over exaggerated? In my experience APSC and most their lenses are much lighter which is why I like using it for travel photography
Great work man, well done 👏 Looks like an awesome trip to NYC. Thanks 👍
thanks Jules!
This video was quality mate. Great shots and great narration. I’m going in March 🙌🏽

Super noob question but how are you getting F5 on a F2.8 lens?
