Do you prefer the Tamron over the sigma 18-50?
I think you're doing yourself short, your city photography skills adapt very well to environment shots! I still remember your French Alps video from last year or so! But those nighttime shots with the towers though, DANG. Loved your use of the prism to close off the naturally-formed framing with the tree!
Absolutely insane photos!!! Hard to pick a favourite, I did a little gasp at nearly every single one of them. What a goldmine for gorgeous nightshots. Though just catching glimpses of the continued crowds had me feeling exhausted, it seemed well worth the trouble, for sure! (Also loved the background track of choice during your running sequence 😂)
just found your work, great channel! look forward to watching your old videos, and the more to come! blessings!
Welcome aboard! Hope you like the other vids too, plenty of travel POVs and similar stuff on my channel :)
Omg, the deer!!! So glad I went to check out the vids I had missed on, look at all those deer! And gosh, Georgia got some amazing shots out of this one. Hope she's happy with them too, because they looked incredible!
Thank you! Yea the Kimono shoot was my favourite this summer, was really cool getting those portraits especially w the cherry blossoms 🌸
Haven't been on YT in a while, but I knew immediately what I was gonna watch when I opened it up to find me a video to watch over dinner time, reminding me why I need to check back in more often. Amazing video, Jimmy! Loved the opening transition and all the photos, of course (is that really an Ikea in the middle of the city??).
Was wondering when the classic wholesome GB comment was! Glad you like the vid! And yes that’s an actual IKEA I believe haha
@@JimmyShixin Life's been hectic the past couple of months, left little to no time for RUclips, sadly, but I see that I missed out on a couple more amazing travel videos, so I know what I'll be watching during my upcoming lunch breaks and dinner time 😄
I'm heading to Tokyo in May next year. I cannot wait to go 110% tourist mode.
Have the best time!
love these videos
🙏 means a lot thank you!
@@JimmyShixin No problem! I plan to buy the same lens and your videos really inspire me to get it 😅
thanks so much sir. i just bought 17-70mm too and going to tokyo as well. u inspiring me
Thank you and hope you have the best time out there!!!
What three sigma lenses would you recommend to a new Sony shooter specializing in headshots and portraits?
For APSC I’d say 30MM & 56MM F1.4, no need for a third in my opinion tbh
Would you recommend this lens?
100% it’s my favourite! Have a dedicated video on the Tamron 17-70 too if you’re curious
Jimmy do you use your same aps-c camera and lenses for all those great pictures? I love your videos man🙏🏽❤️
Thank you! I use my Sony 6500 for everything and mostly Tamron 17-70mm f2.8 for events shots (~90% of shots) Sometimes my sigma 56mm f1.4 for portraits or samyang 12mm for establishing shots
I’m thinking of getting the A6700 and this lens for street and also for portraits. How is this lens for portraits? I also shoot Fuji but want to hop into Sony. Great work!!!!
I personally don’t use it much for portraits because I have my sigma 30 & 56mm F1.4 lenses for that purpose - the Tamron is certainly usable for portraits but not ideal due to F2.8 minimum aperture. Especially in low light it can struggle
Bro your shots are insane! Perfect framing. I only miss the f-stop and iso values on the shots.
Thank you! And didn’t realise ppl found it useful - I’ll try adding it back!
@@JimmyShixin Would be cool! I think a lot of people are interested in it, because it helps determine what range and f-stop is capable of taking some shots (helps with determining what lens to combine with an APS-C sensor) Cheers from NL!
Main question: Where and how to find the gigs xD
lol I should do a vid on this alone tbf - this varies a LOT depending on the niche of events but the general gist is: do some gigs for free, get your name out, network as hard as you possibly can and aggressively cold call people or ask everyone you know if they need a photographer
Great video Jimmy and some useful tips shared
Thanks Andrew! Glad it was helpful
This video it's gonna help me alot as a beginner photographer. Thank you, man!
Welcome to you new hobby man! Thanks for stopping by
Great tips Jimmy, just starting out my hobby of photography and recently invested in the famous Tamron you use in all your videos. What set of lenses do you take with you to events?
@@inhumanblub10 thanks! It’s always the same couple of lenses: -Tamron 17-70 must have lens, take 95% of my events shots with this -Samyang 12mm for specific wide angle shots eg establishing -when I know there will be pretty lights, good backgrounds and good portrait subjects I’ll also bring a prime lens for those dedicated portraits I mention in the vid (30mm or 56mm sigma prime F1.4)
Planning to invest into this lens aswell in the future!
nice video :) and useful
Thanks - Glad it was helpful!
great tips, Jimmy 👍
Thank you!!
how would this lens perform with the sony a6700 ? Keeping in mind that it does not have stabilization.. Will the sony a6700's satbilization fully compensate for it?
I actually just got a 6700 but haven’t tested this lens yet. I haven’t had issues with the 6500 stabilisation and would assume that 6700 is even better in terms of IBIS So in short: yea you’ll be ok
post more?
Trying man 😅
@@JimmyShixinIll take quality over quantity, keep up the great work.
Great video as always! It's so nice when you show how the pictures end up but I miss you adding the settings at all the pictures : )
Wasn’t sure how useful it was to be honest cause no one’s ever commented about it but if people like it I’ll bring it back! (was just too lazy to edit them in for like 40 pics lol)
Amazing model & photos, just grabbed the Sigma 30mm! 📸
Great to see a new video again. My Tamron 17-70 is my primary lens.
can someone explain to me why he goes for stupidly high shutter speeds with higher ISO, than lower ISO and normal shutter speed?
Higher shutter speed to freeze moving subjects, I could lower my ISO and slow down shutter but ppl may be blurry. Higher ISO allows for higher shutter -> freezes subjects more effectively
@@JimmyShixin yeah i understand, but some of your photos dont have any moving objects, and lower shutter will look good too thats why i was confused a lil
@@preslavnedyalkov5432 probs just too lazy to change it, and as long as my ISO isn’t super high it doesn’t rly matter in terms of graininess
Wie immer ein super Video. Die Fotos mit dem Golden Tower und dem Baum als Störer sind der Hammer. 🤩
Danke Markus 🙏
That was a video with many interesting impressions. Apart from the good photos - I especially like the one that you used for the thumbnail - it was cool to see a bit from the chinese country-/mountainside. Do you sometimes get disappointed with the Tamron 17-70's vignetting? I've mostly gotten used to it, but there are situations where it annoys me a bit. Have a nice day and greetings from Germany.
@@dhshyhsjybsbsh thank you! And yes definitely have noticed that vignetting, especially when zooming in more. Doesn’t bother me a whole lot though as it’s easily fixed in Lightroom - think they even have an anti vignetting tool now so it’s easier than ever before
I know the aperture is not constant and kind of dark, but for an aps-c telephoto lens I would go for the Sony 70-350 f4.5-6.3 G OSS. It's fantastic during the day but I wouldn't use it when it's starting to get dark outside.
@@ethanadams9135 valid recommendation! I have the tamron 70-300 f4.5-6.3 and have been using that (even in part at night but yea it’s pretty challenging)
Beautiful shots on the left! Now I understand when someone says it is more difficult to capture good scene with very wide lenses (like the video on the right - too busy, too much of everything). You have good eye!
Thank you very much!
Поставил фильтр... Потом убрал🤷 гений блядь
Fab shots. Thanks.
Absolutely loved it, this is the best way of demonstrating the potential of a product. Thank you so much, you have helped me make a purchase decision, thank you.
@@RoshanJain-h4l thank you and I hope you enjoy the lens!!
Can’t wait for more photographs with iPhone!
do u need sigma 56mm after have this len ??
It depends - I’d say yes but only if you LOVE low light photography, especially for portraits it’s great
Greetings from the USA. You have a great channel. I hope more people will watch and subscribe. Some real jewels on your channel. Thanks for being a content creator.
Thanks a lot! Appreciate the kind words!
Here in 2024 watching your vid to get night photography insight for the Tamron lens. I live in the States but I love London. This is such a treat. Thanks for this video.
Thanks for watching!
Dope pic. Exposure settings?
Thanks! ISO 1600, F4, 1/60S
I'm still unsure between the Tamron and the Sigma. Although I like the extra reach, I feel like the size might attract unwanted attention as a tourist. How is your experience with that?
Personally I don’t find the size of the tamron to be big enough for the attention issue you mentioned - think you’d need a telephoto like those white 70-200 for that kind of reaction Only thing is that sigma is significantly lighter than the tamron so if you wanna keep it light make sure to consider weight
is it good for sale in micro stock?
Not sure what this means sry
Love this vid. You’re so good at phototography. Keep the good work up🎉🎉
Thank you !!
love it, just bought this lens for motorsports videography and honestly im blown away
It looks nicer before the edit. The haze gives an impression of size.
Would it be possible to just get away with using a 27mm focal length or do you find yourself needing the extra reach and the wider angles often for street photography?
What lens is this? 27mm sounds rare as a lower limit - also is this APSC? Remember the crop factor For me even 17 (24mm on full frame) isn’t that wide to be honest and I often switch in my Samsung 12mm
Man your videos are produced so well, i bought the a6700 and the 17-70 recently. Trying to get to level of photos you are taking! Keep up the amazing work!
@@XCoNCepT1 thanks man! Super tempted to get the 6700 too, hope you love it
Awesome video bro , i have a a6700 & seeing you use the tamron 17-70mm makes me feel really good about my purchase , i see alot of sigma 18-50mm videos but you utilize this lens alot and ive been getting some great pictures with my lens recently. It's a "do it" all Zoom lens that im glad i have in my kit! Also, it's not as heavy as people say it is! You have gained a sub! 📸😎
Thank you! Hope you’re enjoying the 6700? I’m VERY tempted to upgrade from my a6500 soon 👀 and also re tamron vs sigma 18-50; I really rely on the extra 20mm reach a lot and would defo find 50mm not tight enough - have a whole love letter video for the tamron where I make basically that point
thanks man, scowered the internet looking for a video exactly like this, you rock
Appreciate it man!
What watch are you rocking?
