    Fun facts about the Prado:
His name is Brian Fantana (previous cars were Ron Burgundy, Veronica Coningstone and Brick Tamland).
He’s a VX model because otherwise the mums at soccer would think I’m poor.
Because the colour is called “peacock black” it’s registered as a black car.
It’s Australia’s most useless Prado because it’s 2.35m tall so doesn’t fit in any carparks.

  • @insaynbcr

Harry (cc Ronny), my only concern with a super solid front bumper with hoops is exactly that, super solid. I feel there should be a give point before the bumper folds your frame. Crunching the grill, radiator support, radiator, headlights, hood etc while saving the frame seems to be a better approach to post animal attack. With a solid bumper with zero give is certain death to the frame, which means you will most likely still crunch the grill, radiator support, radiator, headlights, hood AND still total out the vehicle for a bent frame.
The rear bumper could be built with anything, as the frame can be most likely be repaired (not always), but you don't usually take on animal from the rear at any speed to cause damage.

Agree with all points in this review. Having gone from an 80 to 120 Prado. I have the same feelings. Twin-locked, these are an underrated off-road weapon. I am looking to go to a 150 if they get any in stock again!

I put front and rear Harrop lockers on my 2015 Prado GXL - turned the car into magnificent vehicle - we did the Oombulgurri Track (Carson River Track) with Ronny Morgan in 2018 without any problems. The other two cars on that trip were 70 series land cruisers and the Orado easily matched them

    • @gofaroverland7854

As a 120 Prado owner myself, I totally agree with how underrated they are. If you could only put 1x locker on, would you go front or back?

@@gofaroverland7854 I used to think rear locker most important but now I have both I find the prado rear flex’s well and can usually find traction, I use front locker more often to clear challenges. I also think with diff drop kit lowers risk of breaking CV drive shafts.

Hi Ronny, Would you guys consider doing a video on road kill? I know its something that isnt normally discussed as a topic. Harry did touch on it in this modified episode, where he was talking about his beefy bullbar because he "hits animals". This is a reality of overlanding in Australia & something none of the youtubers in the industry seem to have talked about, especially when in darkness we find camp, when Kangaroos are most active at dusk & dawn. I travel extensively throughout WA & I see a lot of roadkill just left on the road, sometimes the hit doesnt kill the animal & it is left on the side of the road to suffer a slow & painful death or if its lucky the next driver to come across it does the deed & removes it off the road.
Can you make a "what to do if you hit an animal on the road" or "find an animal thats been hit in the middle of the road" video? Seems some ppl just let them bounce off the bullbar & let them land where they land & keep on trucking assuming it is dead & landed off the road not being a road hazard to other road users. When it happens to me, personally I stop, make sure it is not suffering then remove it clear off the road then check the pouch if it is a female Kangaroo. If it has a joey then there are other choices to make. Taking it into town & find someone to care for it or otherwise.
I think it is a necessary video especially with all the "New to Overlanding" road users that are now holidaying within our state, Im a West Aussie too. Cover off on what to do or not do, like swerve onto the gravel shoulder at speed to avoid an animal strike.
