  • Hey EVERYONE!!
    I hope you are doing okay and keeping sane in this hectic world!
    Okay, so here is my ride review of the Triumph Speed Triple 1200 RR.
    I had been meaning to access one of these bikes for so long!!
    I had a great time on it despite it not being made for a body as deeply flawed as mine!!
    Anyway, I hope you all enjoy! :D

    Love your enthusiasm & commentary, naturel & spontaneous. Owned mine almost 4 months now. A little bit too much weight on the wrists & at 54 i retired from sports bikes 3 years back lol. Amazing bike in all respects. One of the best looking bikes ever in my opinion but think Triumph dropped the ball making the bars so low. They have made a bike for people my age/demographic who are over the riding position of sports bikes but then go & make one with the same riding position.... Greetings from Melbourne AU

    Very pleased with my RR purchase for my 60th! 😮
    And first bike for 25 years, surprised how comfy it's to ride especially with cruise control.
    Very good on sweeping bends, wow! Engine torque is fantastic too. Any gear, any speed from 2000rpm pulls like an absolute train!
    Brakes quite excellent too. The bike feels very safe. Perfect retro sports bike, love the half fairing to tuck under giving it some...
    Everything to love, great bike, great engineering! 🙂

    Hey Kate
    Great ride review; as you all ways do!
    I ride my RR since 6 Month now and at the beginning I've had quite the same experiences as you.
    After one month, I let push the fork of the RR 5mm down (motorbike front to up) AND the rear 2-3mm down (on the rear suspension nuts).
    I drive mostly in the "road" mode with default settings, except selecting "comfort" suspensions.
    Now I've driven 5'400 km on the RR and after 2'500 the pain in my neck disappear.
    Enjoy and take care!

      Yep, that’s why Guide Dogs for the Blind often attend bike shows. There are quite a few bikers who’ve been blinded by stones. Having said that, I think the size of that rock & riding at 70mph a visor probably wouldn’t do much 😳

    When I sat on an RR, it had the same position as my Daytona 675. Head down, weight forward. If Triumph had called the RR a Daytona 1200, they’d have been pretty close to the mark. Looks fabulous!

    A gutsy effort, Kate, considering the “Attack of the bugs”. Making eye contact is good, but I reckon some clear lens safety goggles might be the go. I use them and it has saved my eyes a few times. Cheers from Downunder. PS: our blowflies make a real mess!!

    Yes, it is a fun bike and exceptionally good for "active" rides on twisty roads.
    Not a good bike to ride slowly in traffic due to the riding position, but for that I have the Z H2.

    As much as I love the brand I won't be giving Triumph anymore of my hard earned £££. Made the mistake of buying a new Speed Triple 94R in 2015, even bigger mistake was taking out PCP to pay for it. I had every intention of keeping it to be fair, 3 years on, decided I didn't want to keep it and one of the PCP options was to return the bike to the dealer, end of contract etc provided the bike was in great condition, which it was. The dealership said to me, oh, no,we are not buying any stock at the moment, there is a freeze on getting stock in. I explained that I had purchased the bike from them on PCP contract and this one of the options. Nope, not having it. Luckily my local Ford dealer took the bike and sold it on my behalf after paying off the finance as I was buying a car from them. I probably should have gone to Triumph HQ and/or Black Horse that financed the bike and complained.

    • @UsernameKate
      @UsernameKate  2 года назад

      Hey CoffeeGuy! Yea, a dealer is under no obligation to buy it back off you if they are having stocking issues. It's a shame and the dealer will lose your business but it can happen. You can sell it to another dealer, and aren't limited to the selling back to the supplying dealer for this reason. But, I do get that it is frustrating certainly! I wouldn't let it put you off the brand though, the brand in my experience is brilliant 😊 thanks for sharing your experience!

    Hi 👋 Kate,
    I really like some “retro” bikes and I think the ability is combining old and new styles avoiding they punch each other. In this case, riding position aside, I think that retro fairing does not match the rest of the (super modern) bike. Like a gym outfit with gala shoes. I had the same impression on MV Augusta…they even add a leather belt on the tank. Anyway it’s a fantastic bike, technically: I don’t book a test ride (I’m taking about the naked one with high handlebar) because I’m afraid I could break my clay pig 🐷.
    Have a nice spring or summer, I don’t know, actually: last week we had heaters on, today a t-shirt is even too much….good for riding😜.

    Hope your finger is ok! 🤕
    I had a smaller stone than that hit my finger doing about 130kph, it cracked the bone and I had a big lump on my finger for a couple of weeks. Leather gloves didnt save me at all!
    And the PAIN, wow. I didnt stop and get off the bike but I probably should have, the pain was incapacitating. 😖

    Hi Kate, you know you used to be a sales person at a motorcycle dealership. I really am considering in trying to become a salesman for bikes also but I'm not sure how to even get into it, I have no prior experience at all. Any tips in how to get that type of job? And how did you start. Many thanks

    • @UsernameKate
      @UsernameKate  2 года назад

      Hey!! It's a tricky one! I got into it through starting in clothing, and transferring to the sales department and building my experience there. Some dealers won't be looking for experience necessarily but passion. It's probably worth looking on sites like BikeJobs, finding a job post that's available that suits you and physically taking a trip to a dealer or asking to meet with the dealer principle to see if they would consider someone with no experience but enthusiasm. Plus going into a dealership and showing your face shows you are keen. Hope this helps

    I feel that EV is like bike now. They can get up to speed super quick and it can engine brake (downshifts) super quick too. Like my MINI SE. if it has 50 lb/ft more torque. I am pretty sure that it can hang with many bikes.

    The RR and RS no doubt have very similarly specced suspensions. The RS in comfort mode probably feel almost identical.
