thank you than you thank you.... this take me in another reality, I fly above the sky, what an incredible journey to the world of god. Bom Shankar Bolentah. Om tat sat.
A real lost gem. It should be very popular but it is not due to the fact that the world we're living is full of shit and corruption....yes, even in music....
There was so much lying about Janus back when I first heard about them in 1992. It was said they were American!!!!! No, they were not they were from Liverpool. Nobody believes any of the nonsense that existed then. Janus made just one brilliant album back then and this shows the opposite side of the band from the heavy psychedelic rock of Side One. The classical guitar is beautiful and the lyrics are sad about a man who drinks himself to death by the sea. The wave effects and dreamy vocals are really achingly emotional and sweet. I wish I'd been born in time to be in a band in the 60s, 70s, or 80s now getting anything truly relevant out there you can forget about!
From Manchester too, not just Liverpool. They toured in Germany and had record deals in Germany, which is probably why people think they were a German band. I'm fortunate to know an original member of the band..
Very tragic and also very beautiful song. Janus only came out in Germany and occasionally they remind me of some German bands, but more UK sounding. This song is a bit like The Moody Blues in some respects.
Bought this record forty years ago (and still have it). Nice to find it here.
I can remember it was a small record shop somewhere in Frankfurt/Main, but I cannot recall the exact location. ;-)
a british band based in germany harvest always had intresting bands on their label
heb er jaren naar gezocht en eindelijk gevonden dank zij het internet.
Took me like hours to find this song. I heard it in a vinyl shop today :)

Benjamin Blake Mitchner
Top quality song. From 15:36 to 17:40 it reminds me of Greek legend Hatzidakis.
Και εισαγωγη μοιαζει λιγο με διαφανα κρινα...
Starts with an excerpt from Edvard Grieg's Hall of the Mountain King from the Peer Gynt Suite.
@@rrozoff1 I didn't know that. Thanks my friend !
@@D.Norton You're most welcome. It then segues into a well-known Spanish flamenco guitar piece whose name I can't place at the moment.
himalaya,,above is only god
wow great comment thank you
Janus and pink Floyd are two of the only bands that can have a 20 + minute long song on an album that is amazing beginning to end
Maybe try Ocean Cloud by Marillion 👌
You obviously haven't listened to a lot of prog rock. Many prog rock bands have 20+ minutes long songs that are amazing.
@@gcakpapoflolh3882 Well back two years ago I had not listened to much prog rock.
@@baron5432 Hopefully you've listened to some side-long epics, if not, I can recommend some
@@gcakpapoflolh3882Hi!! Please, i want!!! 🙏
