April Beech yes I agree with you on that 👍 yes most definitely. I would also make sure that the person is not catching anymore cold and I will make sure that he or she is nice and warm and also yes I will call 999 for help if that was me.
"More people like her"? Do you mean actors? I know it was YEARS ago & you meant people like the *character* she played. It just sounded funny, as if it was a documentary, & the film crew, with mic's, lights & maybe a producer, were observers, documenting his fate. Even when she arrived, they couldn't help; they just filmed everything she did. I nearly said, they'd need to be really *cold* people to do such a job! lol.
She’s an actor no? I agree with you in that it’s great to be a good neighbour but tbh I think most people would do the same if they were in that situation. There’s plenty of decent people in this world still ❤
This video made me cry to think of an elderly person on their own with no heating. In this current times with energy companies increasing their prices over and over its important to look after each other when we can ❤
This is random but if you want a story here you are: I have a neighbour, let's call her Margaret (That's not her name but privacy and that). She is one of the nicest ladies I know, but unfortunately her husband passed away from a heart attack back in 2020. She has grandkids who came to live with her to help her through the grief, and she eventually managed to go back to living a relatively normal life. She was going out one day and there was a man on the floor outside a house that she was walking by. She obviously asked if he was ok, but there was no response from him. She called an ambulance and saved his life. The man was having a heart attack. She saved someone's life that day, and she is still friends with that man and his family to this day :]
It's important to note that in very severe cases, the person will not complain about the cold and will not shiver. In fact, many people who freeze to death are found naked because they disrobe since the body gives up on conserving heat for the internal organs and the rush of circulation to their extremities makes them feel hot.
Danielle Dewitt Ok, I didn't know that. I just saw that the nob on the heating system had a star-shaped icon on it. Where I live, that usually indicates the coldest setting. Thanks for informing me.
Ryan Leiby Because hypothermia can have life-threatening side-effects. Doctors can help treat those side effects and ensure that the person doesn't suffer any negative long-term effects.
Normal human body temperature is around 37 degrees Celsius. If your body temperature goes under 35 Celsius, you start to have symptoms of hypothermia. It's life-threatening, and you should always call an ambulance. It starts with your blood pressure and your heart rate going up. As it worsens, you get confused, struggle to move, etc. As it gets 'severe', you're really in trouble. You become aggressive, and start undressing - seriously. It's called 'paradoxical undressing', because it makes no sense when you're already freezing to death. But people do strange things when their brains aren't working properly anymore, and undressing is common in hypothermia patients. You also often try to hide in small spaces. After that, you die. It can be treated, and it's always an emergency.

You know, I always hate it when people say "why would you call 999 call 911" it's sooooooo annoying
I know lol, it's the self centred Americans who think America is the only country in the world lol
+Floral Horses I don't mean all Americans are like that just some o them
Loutheunicorn MSP Because this england uk. That's whyvwe call 999. If you came to uk and called 911 you'd be a fool.

Loutheunicorn MSP Oh and drives me mad too. Is it not obvious with the british red cross label?
Shaking with coldness and may be sick
Wonderful
That looks like my grandfather who died.
Ex? What do you mean ex? If someone in your family dies it doesn’t make them an ex-
Why would someone have the air conditioning be on in the middle of winter? I'm not trying to be rude because this is very informative.
Avalasia Love The air conditioning might not even be on. Boilers can break.
Mielle R Well said.
Danielle Dewitt True, but the video made it seem like the air conditioning was on. Maybe I saw it wrong.
Avalasia Love We don’t tend to have air conditioning in great britain.
Danielle Dewitt Ok, I didn't know that. I just saw that the nob on the heating system had a star-shaped icon on it. Where I live, that usually indicates the coldest setting. Thanks for informing me.
Is it hypothermia from futrama
British Red Cross.
Why do you have to call emergency services for hypothermia
Ryan Leiby Because hypothermia can have life-threatening side-effects. Doctors can help treat those side effects and ensure that the person doesn't suffer any negative long-term effects.
Avalasia Love can hypothermia make you sick because hypothermia is when your body is super cold
Ryan Leiby Yes, it can because your bodily systems slow down in order to preserve heat.
the man being elderly is a huge factor
Ryan Leiby Well if you want to die don’t call 999.
Old people are much more at risk for getting hypothermia as well because of factors like lower body fat and things like that.
Oh My Good Is Cold

Crazy Hai I know it's really life threatening that my grandpa passed away because of it
Crazy Hai hope you are ok
If he had level 5 of hypothermia he could have died
I hate hypothermia of a freezing cold. They can be very dangerous and it is not very good for the body.
It can actually kill you
*Call 999*
