  • China is hosting its third Belt and Road summit this week, marking the 10th anniversary of its iconic Belt and Road Initiative (BRI). Worldwide leaders and representatives from over 100 countries are gathering in Beijing, including Russian President Vladimir Putin.
Chinese President Xi Jinping lauded the "political mutual trust" between Russia and China in talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin, Chinese state media reported Wednesday, with Xi adding that ties between the countries were "continuously deepening."
Putin's trip this week to Beijing for the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) forum is the Russian president's first visit to a major global power since his invasion of Ukraine in February 2022, and comes as China and Russia seek to join hands in presenting what they consider to be an alternative global order.

Before BRI, the trading between China and European was about 800 billion dollars, and transport of goods were mainly based on seafreight of 40~48 days.
The Trans Euroasia Railway link has shorten the time to 18~20 days. Which is good for both China and Europe. You can search the number of German cars exported to China via the route, its amazing.
Furthermore, the Railway link was not only benefiting China, but all these land locked countries in Cental Asia and Eastern Europe, they can exchange goods and trade which wasn‘t possible before. Mongolians can export to Hungaria, Uzbiekstan can export to China. Its a win-win situation for all.
And to put cherry on the top, the Railway link has been extented to South East Asia and Middle East, Turkey can export to Vietnam, Thailand can export to Belarus.
The entire Euroasia continents have an alternative mode of transport. How wonderful is that.
If North and South Korea, and Japan willing to join in. The cargo can go all the way from Tokyo to London, or maybe Tokyo to Egypt one day.

    • @merrick6484
      @merrick6484 7 месяцев назад +8

Talking about Italy dropping out of BRI, which is a free choice. For sure, they don‘t need Chinese investment and they are already well connect to Euro Zone railway system, hence linked to BRI Euroasian Railway network.
Although they don‘t want to admitted it, but they are already in BRI transportation loop.
Mongolia and Kazakstan still can sent goods to Germany first and then to Italy. And Italy can sent goods to Turkey first then to Cental Asia and Middle East.
However, you can not argue that BRI didn‘t work for Italy‘s favour, especially the route outside of Europe Zone.

China's trade relationship with Russia has raised concerns for some observers, particularly when it comes to the potential of indirectly funding Russia's military endeavors. The core of this argument lies in understanding how trade revenues and economic partnerships can indirectly bolster a country's military capabilities.
When nations trade, they don't just exchange goods and services; they also bolster each other's economies. A strong economy provides a country with the resources it needs to invest in various sectors, including defense and military. In the case of Russia, a significant portion of its national budget, which is fueled by its trade revenues, is allocated to defense spending.
China is one of Russia's largest trading partners, and their economic exchanges span a wide range of sectors, from energy and natural resources to technology and infrastructure projects. The revenue Russia gains from these trade activities contributes to its national coffers. Even if the intention of the trade isn't directly related to military funding, the economic boost provided by such trade indirectly frees up resources that can be-and often are-allocated to defense.
Furthermore, Russia's primary export to China is energy, especially oil and natural gas. The energy sector is a significant source of revenue for the Russian government. By purchasing energy from Russia, China is essentially providing a consistent stream of income that the Russian government can allocate as it sees fit, including to its military.
It's also worth noting that economic partnerships, like the one between China and Russia, often come with political implications. These partnerships can indirectly offer diplomatic cover or support in international forums, further enabling a country's actions on the global stage, including military actions.
In essence, while trade between China and Russia might be primarily economic in nature, the financial benefits Russia derives from this relationship can indirectly support its military capabilities and operations.

The West can never compete with what China does in terms of infrastructure development due to Western economic model and development approach to the global South. The West focus always has been on soft stuff: water supply, health, education, democracy, human rights, training...which are not very tangible (visible) while China builds roads, airports, bridges... things developing countries really need. Of course these investments do not come without costs/debts but what else can the South do if they need infrastructures esp. if the West cannot offer?? So why jealous towards China? Russia, China, USA are all vast empires. All the rest or most of the rest have to navigate through dangerous waters.
Now, USA gives you arms, Russia gives you gas and China gives you credit, but they all will take offence if jilted. And you will not come on top in choosing any of them.
Ukraine chose unwisely. Right or wrong does not come into it. It chose American weapons, knowing it sits on the frontsteps of Russia.
There is no point discussing, if this is true or not. Results are there for all to see.

First of all, the Chinese Communist Party believes no God. They dare to do anything against any Gods their people believing in China. They rewrote bible in its narrative. Surely God will only stand behind the people who are persecuted from the regime which slaves their people to maximise their own wealth and power. God would finally delete any regime which persecuted their people. God heard cries from the suffering. Also, if the people stand with or help that regime to make their fellow people suffer, God would also punish them one by one according to His righteousness, neither CCP’s nor human’s. Don’t test God by spreading lies.

Former colonial powers from sea will fade away and gets marginalised. Germany will rise again as well as a few mid-Asian powers and middle-Eastern powers. 1. Next-gen information technology.
    2. High-end CNC machine and robots.
    3. Aerospace equipment.
    4. Marine engineering equipment and high-tech ships.
    5. Advanced rail transit equipment.
    6. Energy saving vehicles and EV.
    7. Electrical equipment.
    8. Agricultural equipment.
    9. New materials.
    10. Biomedicine and high-performance medical devices.
Till now, I would say there is some fall behind in sector 1 and 10, the first one is all around chip making ability, the second one is pharmaceutical R&D. The other 8 sectors is either achieving breaking through or being the top producer of the industry.

BRI, the Project of the Century, a decade is too short a time to gauge or make any measure of the structure.
President Xi, had the vision of connectivity, thus soon after ascension to power, he announced the Silk Road Economic Belt in Kazakhstan, remodelled to One Belt One Road and now as BRI expanding the vision to embrace more regions into a shared future.
China's eradication of poverty has much to do with bridges and roads connecting the rural to the urban centres of commerce within China.
The concept has now extended beyond China's borders into landlocked and other regions creating jobs, contributing to eradicating poverty, also enabling local commodity to generate income with access to commercial centres.
China's State owned entertprise are nearly done connecting the dots with roads, rail, airports and ports, it's now private sectors proceeding with fine-tuning, by planting the ornaments (small is beautiful) to support growth along the routes before the real takeoff of the economic potential is visible.
BRI is in "Incubation Mode", a story for the decades and century ahead, now that the low hanging fruits are visible.
Many media representives love rubbing salt into wounds some countries incur, amplifying without examining the underlying issues prior to signing onto the BRI.
Infrastructure is capital intensive with the returns a long haul so when unexpected events occur, normal for both debtor and creditor to face different challenges.
A growth with billions of people in participation is a phenomenon too big to ignore.
China is walking tall and deserving.

Sorry, but for the countries of the global south, the United States was only good at creating means of indebtedness or creating tools so that these countries did not develop. This is the image we have of the United States, a country that does not help its colonies, continues to have imperialist thinking inherited from England.
It is a country that ends or tries to kill any type of government that is not like its own.
Regardless of the war in Ukraine, sooner or later this would happen, there are many countries that want to have a better quality of life for their citizens, so changes are necessary.

The mindset is that China is doing a lot of good things but failing in every way and everywhere. Even Chinese infrastructure and goods are good but also bad, never able to be as good as the West. Really? Heard of 5G, high speed trains, EV cars, EV batteries, drones, mobile phones, Baidu, supply chains, solar cells, windmills, etc etc

@@jdan8620 , Taiwan is a geographical term for one of the provinces of the nation China, because there is ONLY ONE China.
Taiwan province and the mainland of China are still in the setting of civil war between the People's Republic of China (the only legitimate legal representative of the nation China) established in 1949, with the government of the Republic of China, which once reigned the entire nation China from 1945 (when Japan was defeated in WWII and returned Taiwan province and associated islets to China) through 1949 (when the ROC government lost the entire mainland to the PRC, and the territory it exercises jurisdiction over shrank to only Taiwan province and associated islets).
Should there be any conflict between the mainland the Taiwan province, it is but an internal conflict or civil war. If you call such conflict as invading countries, just ask yourself the question, would Germany INVADE Munich? Or, would the US invade the New York or Texas?
