This is the easiest way to make a beautiful bow! Thank you (8 years later) for such a nice tutorial ❤ oh, one extra step I added was inserting a chenille stem into the back of the bow under the zip tie before cinching down. That way I’ll have a way to easily tie it to whatever I want.
Excellent - You took your time to show us how to handle and hold the ribbon. Also, you went on to explain how you twist the ribbon when the front doesn't match the back. Showing exactly what you were doing allowed me to FINALLY make the perfect bow. Other channels don't go slow and do close ups. I really appreciate you!!!!

I was just about to comment the same thing! Short video too that is right to the point. I personally am not going to watch a 30 min video on how to make an easy DIY bow...then why does it need to be 30 minutes?!? 😆 I actually watched this one last year and needed to be refreshed (only made a couple bows last Christmas). Having said that, I was in a pinch at my parents' house 400+ miles from my house where I would normally call upon my crafty and creative friends to whip up a bow for me. Your video was so AH-MAZING and allowed even ME to create the most magnificent burlap bow for a monogram I purchased for my parents' front door. I was so impressed with myself and I have YOU to thank! The ONLY thing I would add to your video would be to show and describe exactly how you turn and twist the loops to make the bow full and circular. I rewatched your video and played very close attention to your hands. I’m OCD, have common sense and have been doing every arts and crafts known to man for years but this large bow thing was a pain in the neck with all of the twisting and bunching and bulking up, as instructed in practically every other video. This one was simple and to the point and my first try looked amazing! You’re a good orator as well, easy on the ears!
September 2024 Your site is the best site I've seen, I figured there was a way all you had to do was loop and loop and loop and loop... You made my day... I also believe this wired ribbon is the best thing since wheat bread!! How do you know how much ribbon to get I only have 9 ft.... I hate to say this but instead of making a ribbon taking it apart and figuring out how many feet you used for each ribbon you make oh life would be so much easier.. Haha Take care you're the best
I almost cried. Can’t believe I made this bow. Though I didn’t have any zip ties, I did use the last 6 inches to tie around the center super tight and that did the trick. I used burlap ribbon with wire. So pretty. Thank you for making this possible!

great tutorial on making bows. I have always had a hard time, however this looks like I could do it. Do you have a video on using two ribbens of different patterns?
I used her method with 2 ribbons (first time making a bow, ever). It was pretty easy. Prior to doing the bow I took both the ribbons, pinched them with my thumb and middle finger, measured it out to my elbow, made a crease of that measurement and folded it in that length 13 times around. This gave me a good size bow for my wreath and I had room for my tail. I wish I could share the picture.
I watched your video even though I’m an expert at making bows. (All different styles) I grew up in Brooklyn, NY and I lived above a fabulous Florist. From the age of five I have been making small bows for boutonnieres during all of the major holidays. I was paid $.50 for a six hour day! I make those traditional bows just like you did with the “twisting method”. I do not use zip ties, I use floral wire. I have very tough fingers since I’ve been making bows for over 50 years. 👵🏻 I love the way you simplified the process for the general public great job! 👍🏼

great tutorial on making bows. I have always had a hard time, however this looks like I could do it. Do you have a video on using two ribbens of different patterns?
I used her method with 2 ribbons (first time making a bow, ever). It was pretty easy. Prior to doing the bow I took both the ribbons, pinched them with my thumb and middle finger, measured it out to my elbow, made a crease of that measurement and folded it in that length 13 times around.
This gave me a good size bow for my wreath and I had room for my tail. I wish I could share the picture.
I watched your video even though I’m an expert at making bows. (All different styles) I grew up in Brooklyn, NY and I lived above a fabulous Florist. From the age of five I have been making small bows for boutonnieres during all of the major holidays. I was paid $.50 for a six hour day!
I make those traditional bows just like you did with the “twisting method”. I do not use zip ties, I use floral wire. I have very tough fingers since I’ve been making bows for over 50 years. 👵🏻

This is so helpful as I'm dyslexic, when I was at college doing floristry I struggled with making bows, have you a video on how you do them with silk ribbon.
