How is that you grade something filmed during the daytime to look like it was captured at night?
Ever wished you could achieve that same mysterious atmosphere in your own projects? If so, you've landed on the right video.
In this tutorial, we dissect the magic of turning daylight into moonlight - a technique often utilized in big-budget films to create strikingly realistic night scenes.
This technique has been beautifully illustrated in movies like 'Nope' by acclaimed director Jordan Peele, and Robert Zemeckis’ classic 'Cast Away.'
We break down this process into 4 steps in Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve and Final Cut Pro.
Whether you're a novice filmmaker or a seasoned professional, understanding how to use this technique effectively can drastically enhance your visuals, adding depth and an immersive atmosphere to your storytelling.

You have a God given gift for teaching! Whenever someone can take a complicated subject and break it down into digestible, understandable parts.. you know they are unique! Keep up the great work! I wish you the best in all that you do! 👍🏾
Huge fan of showing the steps in multiple software. Nicely done Denver!

I think there's no sky that is completely dark like the one you created. One wonders where the moonlight is coming from.

I have variety of footage which have different aspect ratio from old tape like VHS,DVCAM,Mini DV,HDV and also FHD footage. when we import these footage then by default all clips have same aspect ratio of sqare 1:1 but i want original aspect ratio. In other software like premiere pro when we import clips then it maintain original aspect ratio of original clips but here all the clips have 1:1 aspect ratio. Here from clip attribute we can change aspect ratio but having 200 to 800 clips in a project , it is not possible to do . Is any setting or any solution to solve this in davinci resolve.

Voor nr.1 Davinci Resolve kan dit filmpje 2/3 korter. Daarom kijk ik deze niet af.
