Great tutorial! That Lumetri day night grade is a great method
Thanks Bro. This is really nice, ...watching from Nigeria.
Very cool effect. Thanks!
Very useful tutorial!
Thank you!
Great tip thanks.
Ngl bro , I'm impressed. New sub💯
Me: meh another day to night tutorial, this is like the first thing I learnt to do on After Effects...
Also me 4 minutes 34 seconds later: BRUH THESE GUYS ALWAYS END UP TEACHING ME NEW STUFF
We wouldn't want it any other way!
You guys always save me.
You can always rely on us!
Hmmm. This gives me an idea for a Spec Ops raid video. Great tutorial!
Thanks for watching!
That's sick!
Thanks for watching!
that was great tutorial ! thanks.
Glad you enjoyed it! Be sure to subscribe if you'd like!
How did you add the tail light and headlights? That’s what I was looking for.
My guess would be you track the taillights, add a red solid with mask and adjust glow parameters (deep glow better if you use it). You can easily subtract the car from the first shot with rotobrush, add an adjustment layer parented to tracked null and play with levels/curves to make it brighter.
That's what I'd do
GREAT RESULT!! 😎
Thank you!
Nice
is the vehicle headlights is manually done by tracking?
I'm trying to do the same thing but in Nuke, seems easier on After Effects
That's really helpful! How did you guys mask the car inside? Rotobrush, patience and masks ? Thank you so much for your time!
Glad it was helpful! Are you referring to the windows and having the headlights visible? That was done in Mocha using their planar tracking and roto tools.
Great and very informative tutorial, hadn't heard of using an expression for the sky for parallax! I do wish you had gone over how to add the head and tail-lights on the car. Would love another tutorial just on that! Keep up the great work.
Thanks for watching, Nicolas! Stay tuned for the car lights!

Great tutorial! Thank you, guys! #aftereffects #vfx #compositing #tipsandtricks
I'm trying to use After Effects, and I can't find the edge blur. I looked closely at your tutorial to try and see if I was missing anything, but nope, all you did was type 'edge' into the effects bar and it came up. Is it in a newer update or am I just missing something? The Luma Key was in obsolete for me, so I have a feeling it was removed, but I have no clue.
Sorry for the delayed response! Edge blur is an effect from Red Giant's Keying Suite. You can achieve similar results with the roughen edges effect. Change the edge type to roughen and play around with the border size to get the look you want. Make sure to have the edge sharpness and fractal influence turned down to 0.
Help needed! how did you do the mask thing? I am unable get the only selected part to mask like yours? that part was a bit confusing.
Hello! When speaking of masks, do you mean the Luma key?
Good bro
Thanks!
excellent video bro......but i have one doubt.....how the jeep lights came
hi, could you do tutorials on how to track those red backlight and headlights? thank you!
It's on the list! -Danasa
How to add light of the car?
Which footage is most suitable for night mode grading? Log or normal? Please replay..
Sorry for the slow reponse. In most situations, LOG footage is better because you have more information to work with when color grading. In this shot, I used rec.709 footage, as it is also suitable, but does not offer as great of a range as LOG footage. The purpose of converting the rec.709 footage to be linear in this video was a stylistic choice used as the base look for the day to night conversion.
Why do you apply a hue and saturation when you can use the lumetri effect?
It's personal preference! You can use either effectively. :)
Aftereffect or premier is the best?!!
raw footage?
Do you sell your video editing services?? This was great
Hey! Unfortunately we don't. We focus on selling VFX assets to compositors. Glad you enjoyed the tutorial!
Спасибо за урок!
You're welcome!

How to add and track headlights?
This is a good suggestion for a video, thank you for asking! In the meantime, here's a good video to watch: ruclips.net/video/0aCSlHfTdyw/видео.html.
Can we do it with a blue sky please reply 🙏
Yes, it's actually really easy! Don't do the day for night grade and just follow the steps in this tutorial for the actual sky replacement. You may have to make small adjustments to match your environment to the sky.
not understandable for beginners using shortcuts inverting it i dont know how i should do that
Are you referring to inverting the mask? What he did there was duplicate the layer and change the mask from add to subtract! Does that help?
Where can I find this footage ??
You can find it on FilmPAC.com!
