G'day to you! Jan 1971 I came to Perth on a 3 week Holiday from Sydney, I am still here, no crowds, weather, lay back life, and at 21 the Girls were something else, I was lucky enough to Marry one ,best thing I ever Did, now 74 still love it !
Ive lived here for 25 years moved when i was 15 im 40 now still find it boring really wish my parents moved to the US all we have is the mining industry my kids are 21 and 18 now im single and hope to move next year.
@@nikolabakich9709Agreed mate, it’s a dull and soulless place.
Fascinating. Looks like late 70s to me. Perth has changed so much.
Yes. Looks to be around 77/78
Has it?…..Still very backward I’d say?
I was a teenager of the 70's in Perth. Great times and a pity it's all changed for the worse.
Why has it changed for the worse?
@@theblindfoldep It was way safer with some truly iconic unique businesses in the city. You could often park for free in all but major streets. Perth was basically closed from midday Saturday until 8:30 Monday morning. If you're under about 50, you know that lovely relaxed atmosphere Perth has on Christmas Day or Good Friday? Well we used to have that every weekend and people were more relaxed because of it.
@@every1665 Perth is much safer in 2024 than it was back in the day. Google serial killers of Perth if you want some insight to what I am talking about.
I guess a lot of people look at the past through a pair of rose coloured glasses, a sense of nostalgia. However, this 54 year old Perth resident believes the city's best years are ahead of us.
Ngawyni at Ascot? Mount Eden at Gloucester Park? The Mighty Royals at Perth or Subi Oval? Hyde Park Festival? Not much high rise in South Perth yet. Deep Water Point skiing. Bombo Valley grape juice. Getting blotto on Rotto. Beautiful Art Deco pubs- Scarborough, Castle, Swanbourne, Mosman Pk, Shenton Pk, Majestic,...oops, where'd they go? Dirty Dicks, El Cabello Blanco. That little rocketship slide in the sand pit in the corner of the original Innaloo Shopping Centre and the Putt-Putt over the road.....and "The Drives"....how many did you fit in the boot, eh?
Remember Ivan wandering the streets with a hessian bag collecting bottles out of bins?
Bummer about the sound..
Yeah was so easy then but all good things change for the worst moved from Perth and regretted back to mad Melbourne
What era did the shoeless bogans start appearing in Dullsville?
In 2024 if you want to live in a city of opportunity and leisure Perth is where its at. As an added bonus Perth has no toll roads and pokies don't ruin our pubs.
We’re Full!
Stop encouraging them
If you can afford to..we West Aussies are being priced out of housing by the influx of people moving here..
Ahh Perth in the 70s. Where your plane would land in weeds and a 20c schooner was only thirty mins away in a taxi.
Unfortunately, racism was a big problem in Perth at the time. I went through a lot of it as a kid in the 1980s.
So you will be voting NO to racism I hope ..the voice is racist I hope you realise 🇦🇺🇦🇺
@@ACDZ123 of course
@@siredith8846 👍can I ask what area you lived in Perth back then. I grew up in Scarborough/ doubleview area
@@ACDZ123 I lived in Swan View. Wish I’d lived in Scarborough.
@siredith8846 ah shit that's miles away from the beach ..yer Scarborough was great back then before they re developed it and modernised everything..I liked the old gritty Scarborough and the pin ball / burger shacks .all changed after the mid 80s
Well I would've watched it, if I could have heard the fucking thing..!
google 'volume control'
might help you 🤣
