Hi, I'm Richard. I cried all through this song. I met my "girl" during my second year of college. She was everything I ever dreamed of in one person, smart, funny, beautiful, Godley, cool, mysterious amazing.. We started dating in May, I asked her to marry me in June (there is so much more to this story) and we were wed in January. The idea of such a one being taken from my life shakes me to my core. Happily here it is 45 years later, and she is still the reason I smile all the time. I love watching your reactions to songs I love. You are such a romantic...

Tim McGraw was my very first concert ever. I was 14 and went with my 20-year-old sister, who is a massive fan. I still remember the first time she played this song, I cried (dying in childbirth is a massive fear of mine) so my sister showed me the music video to reassure me, the "girl" survives, running after Johnny and their son as they go fishing in the very last scene. God granted his request. The song still makes me ache in my chest. I cannot imagine losing my husband. I just can't.

I'm not the biggest country fan, I like a few songs here and there, but this is one of the few I like. It makes me a little sad to listen to it now, not just cause of the lyrics, because it was one of my grandma's favorite songs. This big bad biker (my wife's words not mine)she is the beautiful woman in the photo.
Called me from the emergency room. Told me don't get upset, but i have a heart issue. I was there before she said hurry up. They took my 5'2" 115 lbs and opened her little chest and did a quadruple bypass.
The last verse played in my head for 6hrs. I went to the chapel and got on my knees and thought Johnny prayed "don't take the girl" and it didn't help. So i cried for hours. That was 3 months ago.
She's still here and we've been married 23 yrs.

This song brings a tear to my eye every time I hear it. But that's because I lost my 1st wife and daughter on Valentine's Day 1982.

When I was a little kid we used to go to an old woman's house, we called her Granny though we weren't related. We'd meet another family there and me and my sisters would play with their young son and three daughters. My mom and dad stood up for their mom and dad at their wedding. We quit going when I was 7 or 8. When I was 28 or so I met a woman at work. We got to know each other then became friends and went out on a date. Turns out she was the older sister of the three. A year later we were married. 24 years later she passed leaving me with a daughter and two beautiful grand kids. It can happen.

Enjoyed your reaction. This song always brings me close to tears (so far so good). With the holidays coming up you should react to Faith Hill's 'A Baby Changes Everything' and Newsong's 'The Christmas Shoes'. I believe you will like both of them.
