Just had my 2003 ported 416ex dynoed yesterday and tuned! Not a wild build by any means. Just a budget woods midrange setup. 35hp and 30ft/lbs. Mild porting, +1 Ferrea valves, stg1 hotcam, 87mm 10.8:1 JE piston on 100 octane mix. Also running stock headpipe with ground out welds for better midrange. Piped stock open box was 29hp and 20.5 ft/lbs. So i had huge torque gains!! I'd love to see your dyno sheets

Yeah i would love to see them aswell lol. But closest place to me to dyno a quad that can be trusted to touch anything and doesnt cost an arm and a leg is about 3 hours away. My seat of the pants dyno says gains are large. I only got to hit the throttle wide open one time and i was in 4th gear and it almost looped out on me. Still was running short track gearing from the previous motor. 13/38. Went to 14/39 so we will see if i can control it alittle more now lol.

@@brentpfeiffer4043 Yeah my dyno was $340. I brought it in and i was real rich, tinkered around and gained some power once it was dialed in. You wouldn't happen to have any oddball aftermarket parts for the EX would you? If so I'd be interested. I have a DuraBlue Eliminator axle used for sale. Have the locknut for it just needs a new sprocket hub. I never ended up putting it in my 400ex. Too wide i run tight trails

Those dang sprocket hubs can cost as much as a whole axle. I run a rpm dominator 2 with the race hub. Stock lock nut though. Never could keep those stupid aftermarket one from snapping in half. Have had zero issue out of stock ones when done right they will never loosen up. Only aftermarket parts i have left are a set of aluminum air shrouds. Need one tab welded back on. A used wiseco 11:1 and a new CP 12:1 piston.

Brent Pfeiffer if I ever get time I might have to take you up on that

The offer stands bud! Cant guarantee the parts will still be available. I have them on few selling places. All that is needed is a new set of rings and a quick hone. Cross hatching is still visible in the sleeve as is.

    What piston are you running?

    • @brentpfeiffer4043

A custom made CP 87mm. 12:1 stroker piston. To work with a hotrods stroker crank i had to have it custom made. No one makes and sells them anywhere. The wrist pin had to be moved and the skirts shortened for clearance. CP was able to access the 89mm piston specs and make it from those. Since there any many places that make the 89mm piston.
