  • I finally got my new giant pumpkin patch dried out enough to get the plants in the ground. I double-planted the 1643 New against the 1931 Turner. Both plants looked good going in the ground. Even after removing almost 90 gallons of water from the patch, the soil was still wetter than I was hoping for. I was only able to amend about 112 square feet of the patch as the rest was still too wet. I am hoping the patch continues to dry out and I can amend the rest in the somewhat near future.
Here are the amendments I added to the patch:
    - Sulfate of Potash
    - Calcium Nitrate
    - Gypsum
    - Bone Meal
    - Magnesium Sulfate
    - Zinc Sulfate
    - Manganese Sulfate
    - Copper Sulfate
    - Borax
