My ex-wife took the Dyson , so I got this . I found the weight was much more than the Dyson I used . The performance is better than the Dyson . I prefer having the stick charge when it’s hanging , like the Dyson .
I got one last week I got to say it works vary good on my vinyl plank floors it got all the dust and dust bunnies. I have 1100 square foot house and the battery did run out when I got to the last bedroom, but other than that I’m glad with my purchase.
We just replaced this with the Shark Stratos. Our problem with this Hoover is that over time, the little flap seal in the canister to keep debris from falling back down the shaft wouldn't do its job and a bunch of debris would come back down and out to the floor. The battery system is nice though. When we purchased this vacuum it came with two batteries. However, you have to be careful leaving them on the charger. One of the batteries I'm convinced is locked in thinking it's 3/4 full but charges to full in no time but then is dead in a quick couple minutes. Vacuum Wars helped me find the Shark Stratos and ours just arrived yesterday. Used it a couple times already and its design of the canister will definitely not have the debris falling back down the shaft like the Hoover. I just wish buying additional batteries from Shark was a little easier.
Great review! I wish I saw it before I purchased one. In my experience using this vaccum the 3.0 battery on ECO mode gets about 26 minutes on a hard surface, using powerbrush. Significantly less run time in NORMAL mode as your review shows. It should come with a 4.0 battery or 2 x 3.0 batteries. And then it would be "interchangeable".
My friend has this vacuum, and the belt broke on the beater bar attachment, looking around and nobody sells the belt, not even the manufacturer. And the funny thing is the beater bar attachment has a removable side cover where you can replace the belt, but yet they don't sell replacement belts (I figure to get more money from it's customers by having to buy the attachment instead of a belt). the only way to replace the belt is to buy the whole attachment which is pretty expensive in of itself. the manufacturer ended up replacing it under warranty with a new vacuum, they told my friend to keep the old one, but had her remove the serial number sticker, and to cut the cable to the charger.
Seems like a decent Vac for the price range. Watched the V8 and V10 comparison video and the V8 is currently more expensive than the Blade+ (the V10 is in a different price league), both the V8 and the Blade+ failed the cheerio test on hardwood. The V8 only picks up cheerios with the absolute brush which makes the V8 even more expensive. The Blade+ did a lot better in the crevice test than the V8. Also, on high power with the brush roll, you measured 9 mins on the V8 and 13 mins on the Blade+. You can also get a 4.0 Ah battery for the Blade+ which gives you a longer run time. The V10/11 is a different price league, but when it comes to the Blade+ it gives you a better bang for your buck than the V8 which is a closer price range (but more expensive).
I have one of these vacuums and I would never buy it again, for a couple of reasons. The batteries are great - in theory. They take about an hour to fully recharge, but they don’t hold the charge when they aren’t on the charging block. So to use your vacuum for a longer period of time (i.e., you don’t have a tiny apartment) you still have to wait for your second battery pack to charge. OR! You could buy a dual charger from Hoover & charge two. But that still only gives you about 30 mins of vacuuming time (according to the run time in this video). The wheels pop off & break constantly. I have replaced so many of these things. The good suction power & crevice test that they reference in the video are very reliant on the wheels being there. Without them, it is a subpar vacuum. It also randomly stops suctioning. For no discernible reason (no clogs, no hair, filter cleaned, etc). For the price it was okay. But I have been dealing with problems on mine pretty much since I got it, with little to no help from either the store I got it from, or Hoover themselves.
yes, that one battery for multiple tools in a lineup is a good idea for both customers and companies. Companies can sell more products in the family and customers get a spare battery. I have a blower and string trimmer that share batteries.
Durability is a concern. I used it for a month. The brush head produces clicking noise. I clean up the bush head, making sure all debris and hairs are removed. But the noise stays. Probably the noise comes from the rubber drive belt rubbing against the case cover. I brought it to an authorized repair shop. Given the new model, they are not sure of problem, and asked me to leave it with them to check, and advised the whole repair process will at least 3 weeks. I also called Hoover and the gentleman answering my call does not know that it has a drive belt, and can’t find the replacement part no. for the belt. The belt bears the mark: 3M-147-6. I checked a few vacuum shops in Markham, Ontario, and they don’t carry this belt. I decided to return it.
Mine did the same thing turns out the brush roller on that side where the belt wasn't aligned properly but it had already melted a good bit. I'm on my 3rd one now with the same problem.
@@audreygates3989 there is a belt but you have to go a step farther and really take the thing apart. Screws and all. I have really long hair and so that played a part in it I believe but I took it completely apart and on the other end of the brush roll hair had spun and burned and just was a matted melted mess. I had to use a razor blade to get off as much as I could and it works decently now but I just took it to work with me and going to donate it there for awhile it works for now and I assume because there isn't a hair load at work like I have at home I shouldn't run into that issue but we will see. I just ordered the Samsung jet 70 for home hoping I'm making a solid investment
@@MizzKahne i dont have patience to undo all screws neither should i have to after two weeks, even though the hoover seems to suck up better on carpets i will just stick with my dyson for now untill the belt issue is fixed
the one power line up looks like part of the ryobi line up same leaf blower and shop vac can you check if the ryobi cordless vac of delivers the same performance
Hovers parent company TTI also make Ryobi and some other power tool brands and it looks like that system just used Ryobi tools with a different battery. Along with that it uses the same parts with different colors as the Ryobi stick vacuum with the only difference being the handle and motor are alot different.
Interesting. This is identical in appearance to the Vax Blade 2/Blade 2 max. 13 minutes on boost with an 18v/3ah battery, indicates that the power unit is similar to the Blade 2 in output, but a good 100 watts behind the Blade 2 Max. Hopefully you will test the Blade 2 max or the Blade 4 (same thing but with the onepwr battery).
Today I have received my 3rd hoover onepwr cordless due to roller brush failure 2 times in 13months , hoover does not have that specific part they are keep sending me whole unit with all accessories, I am 100% sure that the new unit roller brush will again break i will keep asking hoover until 3yr warranty runs out.
I actually had this machine very recently, but returned it....twice. I really liked the concept of the one power battery system as well, and I liked the carpet performance. I was underwhelmed with almost everything else. What really killed it was getting two defective ones in a row. The side of the cleaner head where the belt is would get really really hot after vacuuming for about ten minutes on low carpet and hard floors. The end of the brush roll on the first one actually started to melt after one day's use. Hoover's customer service line is only open on weekdays while I'm at work so my only real option was to return it . The second one did the same thing. I'm curious if you noticed this happening on yours?
@@VacuumWars That would be a really cool addition. On this particular machine that area might just run very warm but I wasn't comfortable with it heating up so much.
Mine have all done same thing. I'm on my third one now and I can get about 30 seconds of runtime before It's burning. I took it apart to look for hair buildup but it was melted beyond repair and I've only used it maybe 5 times since I got this last one 🥴 and I've had charger issues straight away too
My favorite thing is the retractable cord🌼 But this is an all round good vacuum cleaner. Good suction. Easy to empty. Light weight. This vacuum has a larger dirt cup than other units of similar price.

I would be intersted in seeing how Makitas limited range of vacuums compare as they of course have the 18V LXT battery system and could do really well if they made a decent consumer vacuum. The fact that none have been tested probably suggests otherwise.
I think it’s fine for it’s price range, but the 1 thing that’s really annoying is that it can’t stand up on its own while resting without collapsing under its own weight, which is why they give you the dumb wall mount which I have no interest in installing. Thanks for the great review!
When I turn it off, all sorts of debris that I just vacuumed, comes spitting out the bottom of the unit by the brush area. Soooooo frustrating. You end up having to re-vacuum and then and then have to keep the unit running until you can hold it over a wide garbage can or the sink ..... NOT happy about this. Cannister is not always easy to re-install after emptying Smell in cannister even though I clean it out each time. Very disappointed in this unit
