Budget is relative to other choices within the cordless vacuum market. Unfortunately, anything below about $400 in the world of cordless vacuums just isn't a good vacuum. If you need something below that price a corded stick or corded upright is a far better choice in terms of price and value.
I put Dyson price point in my budget so therefore it's in my budget. It was pretty simple to understand. People use the word budget, interchangeably with inexpensive. Which just isn't correct.
I have the Dyson V10 and the Dok. The Dok is well worth it (mine was free at the time direct from Dyson). I haven't seen any need to get a newer vacuum yet and I can clean a 1,200 sq ft home on Eco mode.
Why dont they ever factor in usability. Some dysons dont have on off switch so you grt hand fatigue, some sharks have really heavy heads so arent easy to move around, and some have a heavy top bit so again you get tired hands and just dont feel nice in the hand. Also some heads are really thick so doesnt go under things easily and some dont have attachements for getting into corners and crevices. These should all be factors too as having one with a great suction but is a pain to use just makes it a no for me.
One problem I've had with my Dyson V11 is the inlet size into the dustbin is too small and larger clumps of dog hair (I have a husky) clog it up very easily. The brush roll remains tangle free, which is nice, but I have to dig the hair out manually. I also have a lot of trouble with cat litter and other heavier materials falling back out of the tube after turning the unit off. I recently got an LG CordZero and so far neither of these have been an issue but I've only used it a couple times. All the new dysons seem to have the same design so not sure if this is just a real world scenario not captured by your testing or what.

Would like to see how each one is charged. We own a Shark cordless we got from Costco. The vacuum folds over itself and you plug in a cord similar to a laptop. Our 12yr old delayed development kiddo has a hard time figuring out how to flip it back up and frequently doesn't see the cord is plugged into the side of the battery. I have been shopping for a second cordless vacuum that simply sits into a mount and charges like Dyson has. We got a Dyson from Costco before our Shark, but the motor failed in the first 30 days of light use. Thank goodness Costco is awesome and took it back no questions asked & we got the Shark instead. It still works about a year later but the folding over and charge cord are challenges I would prefer were upgraded by a charging base. Thanks for posting the video. Most of these are pin chargers. So it's just an AC to pin outlet connection in the back of the unit. Some, like Dyson, have a wall mount. A handful (we indicated the models in the video) have free standing stands. Those stands are typically powered. So once it's on the stand it is automatically charging. Shark is the only one that folds down into compact mode. The vast majority don't fold and don't have a free standing mount.

Last dyson died after 5 years. My choices are samsung Bespoke jet pet at costco $419 or Dyson v15 for $550?. Need help choosing which one. They both are in my budget.

@@ModernCastle I only need for upstairs of my house but i want one that is light weight and comes with all attachments and can reach the ceiling and small crevices. I have hard floors and some a couple of area rugs. I have a dyson downstairs but its too heavy for me. Lol.

V10 is still an amazing machine, especially for the money. Really no need to upgrade if it's working well.

You should also test the Henry Quick Cordless Vacuum Cleaner. It's the only one I know with a bag so no mess like you have on the others.

I tested their version cordless vacuum and it was terrible. Possibly the IQ is better, but I also wouldn't hold my breathe.

There is no cordless vacuum I would recommend for $100.

I ended up buying an Orfeld A16 cordless vacuum. It does the job pretty well. For a 100 bucks I’d say it’s worth it.
