- A common device of the Devil is to get Christians to doubt the genuineness of their conversion based on their testimony, feelings, or experiences. The Devil may try to get you to doubt the validity of your conversion by comparing you to others who seem to have had very amazing experiences. But remember, someone can have an apparently amazing experience and end up falling away and proving to be false. Remember what the hymn says...I dare not trust the sweetest frame but wholly rest on Jesus' Name.

I’ve been in a season of dryness lately and this video greatly encouraged me. I know exactly what it feels like to be accused by Satan and doubt your salvation because you don’t feel spiritually close to the Lord. Praise be to God that we are saved by Christ and Christ alone!
We need to read the bible and understand how God acts when he has a relationship with someone. Knowing Him will keep us from being swayed by our mood.

I can't remember the exact calendar day I was saved either; I was by myself in a room. Yet here I stand, having not fallen away for 11 years now, all by God's grace alone have I been preserved. Have I persevered in times of testing? Yes. And it was my Lord Jesus that carried me through. I trusted Jesus over my thoughts and feelings because I can 100% guarantee you this: that if your thoughts and feelings contradict the Bible, *the Bible is right* . Any other method will lead you astray.

I'll be honest, I thought Ps Tim was speaking to me personally. I spend soooo much energy on how I feel in the moment, wallowing in the Slough of Despond, "O woe is me all this mud, I am undone", instead of looking to the light. Mercy Lord.

A brother, living in a "christian cult," described his life as like groundhog's day, one day not different than the next. I mourned for his soul when he said this. The cult he is in trains him to stay on his path with robotic precision. I rejoice in the sufferings and variety of experiences that Glorify The Father, since coming to Christ and being saved out of the very cult he is in. May the Father draw him out soon.

Have to tell you, if I am going to die for my testimony of Jesus, I think my testimony is important to Jesus and in spreading the gospel, His gospel. My testimony is not just the initial, radical visions and visitation of the Holy Spirit I had, it is the continuous indwelling of the Holy Spirit, the Spirit of Christ, that guides me on the right path, Him. Sometimes a nudge, sometimes a jerk and no peace until I return, standing in His light desiring His light to continuously bring to the surface my impurities and skimming them off. I absolutely love the absolute purity of Christ. The experience is nothing without the life changes it brings. Much like "faith without works is dead". If we truly have faith in Jesus, good works will naturally follow. If not, false faith, false conversion. Do not, however, fail to give your testimony as the quietest to the most radical experience is a merical and should not be hidden. My joy, over all salvation experiences, quiet or radical, is a gift from God to be shared. If our life reflects this change, our testimony and life is a testimony to the gospel we share.

Back in Merced when I was constantly around my brother in Christ, Jared Pazin, he came up with the saying, "Experience is not truth. Truth is truth." It's simple, but during the lows sometimes I forget the simplicity that is in Christ. Thank you for this encouragement.
First few seconds hit my heart. I was abused by that preaching when I was a new believer because I can’t remember what age or what the date was, I never wrote anything down. But Through prayer and counsel from my family I realized it was not true preaching. I was the Lords. Though it brought days of tears and worry on my heart by that heretical mans preaching. Becoming a Christian isn’t merely saying a prayer. It’s life! “I have been crucified with Christ, it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me, and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the son of God who loved me and gave himself for me.” Gal 2:20

So feelings and emotions are not "evil" and God created our brains and everything He created is good. When we get these Feelings of God, great, Awesome but nevertheless, continue to take up your cross and die daily and cultivate Holiness and Purity, we can't, but God can cultivate this in us. Feelings come and go but God remains.

Such a great message. Ive learned to never let your feelings guide you. I learned that through the bible telling us things like "the heart is desperately wicked." Or "the heart is wicked, who can know it?" Leave your feelings the heck out of your faith and your life. Just do what your obligated to do in God. " Whoever loses his life for my and my sake will gain it."

We all come in different ways to Christ, but at the end of the day, we all have to live by the same teachings of Jesus, or be children of disobedience.
Those born of God CANNOT hold on to even ONE sin in their life; And God WILL send messengers to buffet that person.

This clip needs to be heard by Christians today; it is very encouraging. I know I am very discerning now about when and how I give my testimony. Many times, our feelings/experiences can literally override the truth of our conversion. And many Christians do want a similar experience they hear someone else give. In fact, I believe that's why you'll hear the question from many Christians about how the Old Testament saints were saved. Though we can read all of Hebrews 11, because we don't read a conversion experience (like Acts 2:37-38 for instance) in the Old Testament where we see someone making a "decision," we start wondering how they were saved. They were saved by grace through faith (Ephesians 2:8-9). It's not about the "decision," it's about the God who saves. Yes, we are told to make our calling and election sure (2 Peter 1:10), but we want to be careful not to doubt our conversion because we don't have a sweeping, grand story like another Christian.

I was Hindu but when lord touched me I always have Bible close to me when I sleep.
I had a diliverence once at 2.10 am mid night ,it came out of my body by giving me a sudden shiver and laying straight I saw him going out of my room and then to another room out.

This is such an encouragement. Funny thing is….I’ve seen this video before (saved it to my Jesus playlist a few years ago when I was on fire for God) the last few months I’ve been cold and distant with the Lord and backslided. Seems I have my good few months and boom I’m cold. I will wait on the lord in those cold seasons and resist the Devil. Please dear Lord give me the strength
Thanks brother for this great message on testimonies. There is a growing desire by churches to focus on this instead of solid bible teaching.
Dont talk to the devil.. the moment you do that he wins.. lets look at Eve... say it is written like Jesus did... and walk way in victory.
Let me add some clarity as @Coreficus was seeking to do. Tim's point is that you take what Satan slanderously says to you (1 Peter 5) and you acknowledge your sin but you also acknowledge that Christ came to save sinners. So yes it is not some idea of conversing with Satan, which would be run, but it is about responding to the lies of the Devil with truth.
I’m with you, perhaps the pastors word choice could be better. It’s better not to say anything to the greatest lawyer of all time.

Yes, Revelation 12:11 speaks about the believers testimony of their identification with Christ and His resurrection. As in we overcome by believing in Christ and His testimony and His truth.

Wow, this speaks to me. We overcome not because of our good deeds, etc.... But by the blood of the Lamb. Even our good deeds are as filthy rags.
I've been dealing with sort of a perfectionist mindset... God is opening my eyes.
I read todays article on Truthforlife.org today. And it was basically saying that even when we're trying to live holy, we may still be sinning. Even when I try to do good I might be sinning. Just shows me how impossible it is to enter heaven on my own and how I can't do it without Jesus.

The internet is full of people claiming experiences, feelings and relating testimonies. Unfortunately, this is what convinces them they have truth on their side or are saved. Yet they all belong to different denominations and religions.
Give me GOD
It's not how you start, but how you continue, and most importantly, how you end.
It's like there is no use looking at experience, unless you can see and deeply value God coming through, through the person who confessed Jesus, either through an overt encounter or covert encounter.
God speaks in and through people who are saved (in any way). This is marvelous, not just to mankind but to hosts of heaven, when they see Who's in the saved people.
The focus is Who's in them. I marvel at that, because the concept of the God Person keeps slipping from my soul even when I try to grasp it. It is through the people who are saved - that I see The ONE (outside of them I do not see).
But, there's another aspect to it, better articulated by what CS Lewis said (perhaps in a different context): When you see the Great Light, the Great Light' reflections do not dazzle you.

I had an attack from the enemy 2 months ago. I thought that I commited blaspheme against the Spirit and so I believed it instead of rebuking and fighting Satan. I repented instead but I let my feelings take over. I then started reading about people who fall away and I believed that to be true in my life. What really surprises me is how quickly I believed the lie and gave up instead of fighting. And so it's been 2 months and my heart has hardened against God and my love for others has turned cold.

@@willkillz7758 I didnt finish the race though. I gave up and hardened my heart because I thought it was over for me. When I do pray and seek God, it's not heartfelt anymore. Only the ones who endure until the end will be saved and I didn't endure. I can't seem to get back up from this

You may not feel the way you use to, but as long as we're still alive there's still Hope. The redemption work on the cross was done for Us. Which makes mankind so special.. that we have this grace and opportunity to come before God in our brokenness and when he sees us, he really sees His son that lives in us because we believe the message of the gospel. That's where truly the power comes from. Which is why we are told if we boast, we should only boast in Christ. Because it's his work that was done that made a way for us.. not our work.. not our failures.. not our shortcomings.. His hope is new each day. There is still Hope for you as you have breath. I find what helps is slowly when you can just begin again to read through some psalms, go back and read the books of encouragement to the church’s corinthians/1/2/3rd john. 1st Peter 2nd Peter..there a little bit shorter but have really good nuggets in there. As we read the word your mind will begin to be renewed again and you can get back to the point before where you feel it again, while as the video suggest it’s not soo much about feelings because the enemy can try to deceive us... But know that more you read.. we will be renewed by the spirit and it's also good for our physical bodies.

Keep them in the midst of your heart.
22For they are life to those who find them
And health to all their body.

I had a similar experience that lasted a week because I got up like a warrior and got on my knees and asked the Holy Spirit to guide me in prayer. I poured out my soul to God that my wife heard me from our closet upstairs all the way to the living room downstairs and it moved her in a way... the power of a Christian is in prayer! That’s where you win battles. In your closet, on your knees even if you don’t feel it whole heartedly you ask God to help you and he will deliver you.

Some of the closest people to God in the Bible had struggles, but these people gave much of themselves to the Lord and they loved the Lord their God with all of their heart, with all of their soul, and with all of their mind. Keep fighting the good fight, run the race keep the faith brothers and sisters:)! Remember Jesus came to destroy the works of the Devil (See, 1John 3:8). We are no longer slaves to sin in Christ Jesus:)!
If you are dismissing testimonies, you are looking down.

The devil tempts you in your mind in a form of thoughts ( as in yourself talking). Usually in a form of accusation. Stop it, cast it down. Stop believing, even acting on it. It is called overcoming, overcoming by the Word of God.

I have a question. Do you know of anywhere that the Bible directly supports the idea of speaking to Satan? I was under the impression that because it isn't commanded of us and because he is not omnipresent that it doesn't make sense to do. I appreciate the content of this clip, but had a question about him advising believers to tell Satan what the scripture says.
When Satan comes accusing with a corrupt desire to separate me from God or lead me astray, I say what was written in the book of Jude, “Satan, the Lord rebuke you”., for I have no strength, but the Lord is full of it and it’s by the Holy Spirit that I can tell Him, yet it’s not by my authority, but Gods. This goes for temptation of my flesh that comes knocking for it is written in James, “draw near to the Lord and He will draw near to you, resist the devil and he will flee. Wash your hands you sinners and purify your hearts you double minded.” I say this scripture to help me in my struggles, and Mathew 11:28-30 when I feel weary. God shows favor to humility and there is no pride as fruit of the Holy Spirit for pride is from the devil.
Am I perfect or good or am I boasting in my goodness? Never, never, but my strength comes from the Lord, anything good and in obedience out of love for the Father is from the help of the Holy Spirit that strengthens me. I am weak, but God is matchless in mercy wisdom and strength. Holy, Holy, Holy is the Lord, and to Him be the Glory forever and ever amen!
In my frailty, I find my strength in the Lord. From the mountain to the valley, His presence always comforts me.
What if the devil this, what if the devil that... What if when you share your testimony many come to Christ?
RM, if God uses your testimony along with the gospel message we are sent to share (Romans 10:14-17), that's wonderful. But we aren't to ignore our adversary the devil, since Ephesians 6:10-11, James 4:7, and 1 Peter 5:8-9 are just some of the verses that warn us about the devil. It's not either or, we give the gospel and we are aware of the wicked one.

Trust the Historical, Traditional Catholic Faith, outside which there is no salvation nor remission of sin!
Catolic religion is false gospel it shuld not be trusted. You must come out from your false religion and find the true fate in Jesus Christ.
Catolic religion is worship of idols.
You will know them by their fruits and the fruits of Catolic religion is abuse and murder of children. If you are Catolic today you are under ambrela of that church and you also part take in their sins. Come out and find Jesus, he wants your heart and true repentance. He does not want your confessions that follows by more sins in your life. Repentance mean to turn away from evil sin and follow Jesus Christ , cut SIN out from your life. And than you will be saved and born of Spirit of God. You can't enter the kingdom of God unless you are born again of the Spirit of God. Peace.

You base your salvation on truth and what who you believe and trust in. Not your thoughts, feelings , emotions, etc. Were sinners. Its possible to even get mad and think a bad thought about God . But we arent under the law. We are free from sin and the law. Live your life holy and free but dont condem yourself every 5 minutes. Alot of that stuff is from our biology or flesh. Satan can manipulate our flesh including our minds. Plus if you screw up. Just move on. A good thought doesnt cancel out a bad thought if you actually meant it. Dont chastise yourself either. Let God do that. Thats his job. God knows your heart. I think of it like this. If there are two hypothetical buttons in front of you. One you push means that you trust in Jesus as your savior. The other you push means you dont. As long as you know you would push the button that represents Jesus your saved.

I don‘t think that you should talk to the devil. You should run to the Cross and pray to the Lord Jesus Christ and See him in his glory risen from the dead.

No, the true believer cannot be won by the Devil. Verses such as John 10:29 make this evident when they say, "My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all, and no one is able to snatch them out of the Father's hand." But we do have an enemy who is constantly seeking to spread lies in order for people to be deceived who have heard the Word, we see this in Matthew 13:19 - When anyone hears the word of the kingdom and does not understand it, the evil one comes and snatches away what has been sown in his heart. This is what was sown along the path. -- So we must be careful how we hear...lest we hear and are not doers of the Word (James 1:22) and thus prove to have a faith that is not genuine (James 2).

@@jessicalazo8439 Two things, 1) No matter how you interpret the experience from 2 months ago and 2) no matter what lack of desire you feel to seek God --- PRESENTLY you must trust Him. There is no other place to go. The fact you are watching this video and we are having this dialog would seem to indicate a desire to seek God. But remember... our desire to seek God is not something that qualifies us to be saved. We are saved based upon what Christ alone has done. Rather than think about the devil, think about the Lord Jesus Christ and what He has accomplished. He who knew no sin offered Himself as an offering for the sinners sin so that they can be declared legally righteous before God's courtroom. Not only that, but the Lord will save you from sin's power and give you a new heart. Why not trust in this glorious gospel that has been freely provided? What do you currently desire? Sin and self? Is that truly the path you want to pursue? A path that leads to death, when Christ is offering water of life that is free and without price (Rev 22:17).
The problem is that when the attack came, I GAVE IN to the enemy. I was tormented physically and he was telling me that I was going to hell and I believed him because I felt like that's what I deserved for blaspheming the Holy Spirit, which I thought I did at the time. So, now my heart had hardened and my love has grown cold. I have no love for my family anymore. I really believe that the Holy Spirit has departed from me and that the enemy has gained my life due to me not fighting back and giving up. Maybe it was a test from God and I failed it proving myself to not really having genuine faith.
I was a very weak and immature Christian and was decieved thinking that I was truly in the faith. I did have the leading of the Holy Spirit but I never grew in my faith because I neglected Gods word. So now, I feel completely cut off when I do pray. I've been prayed for but nothing has changed. The enemy only has the authority that we give him and I have giving him authority over my life by not really trying nor fighting back.

The CAPTION is not ENTIRELY CORRECT, the apostles' testimonies were about how they encountered JESUS, how real Jesus is, and that He rose again.
Testimonies are part of being called to tell people how God changed your life and who God is, we are told to discern which are not true or not, we cannot take away the cause of sin off of the earth so we have to always depend on God to survive, only by His grace.
Tip: what a person says always have something to do with his mind. The caption here speaks of the experience of the speaker with testimonies etc.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news but i see a lot of testimonies in the comment section. I hope that we can all agree that testimony is important otherwise we have no reason to ground our faith whatsoever. The testimony of the apostles is quintessential to the gospel and our faith. You should be skeptical of claims and ask for evidence whenever possible since the bible clearly says to test the spirits and to be ready to give a reason for the hope and faith that you have. Nothing against the man giving the sermon but its important that we live biblically and not just throw out things that are required for us to even have such faith in the first place.

The Lord may want you to examine your testimony to see if you were ever truly converted. Examine yourselves whether ye be in the faith.
You should never be looking back to a glorious experience in the past and not be experiencing greater things now. The experience of a Christian who is in right standing with God is one of going from “glory to glory” (2 Corinthians 3:18).
A season of “dryness”, or in other words, lukewarmness, is a damnable state before God, Biblically.
Please do not idolize the words of men and take their words to heart above what the Word of God says.

Fear not what you see with your eyes my son for I am with you. Look into the eyes of this pastor, and many others who have demons nesting in their souls. Darkness and light cannot coexist in the same body. Discernent of Christ reveals all, and demons they can't even look at me. Demons are nesting in almost everyone, and titling a video not to trust people's testimonies, experience, feelings really. God teaches the exact opposite we all witness to people in many different ways, it's not about reading the Bible and making it mean what you think, or feel. And stop saying because his word said this in genesis, and this in dueteronomy that it correlates. Hello Vladimir, the clip of Tim is in no way saying we should not testify, just as the apostle Paul often did, so should we. The clip is dealing with those who put too much emphasis and trust in a testimony. We have 30 video salvation testimonies on our RUclips channel because we indeed believe they can be rightly used to be an evangelistic tool and bring glory to God. I hope this gives clarity.
Also, in regards to Revelation 12:11 there was some discussion in a previous comment on that text. It seems the text is speaking about the believers testimony of their identification with Christ and His resurrection. As in we overcome by believing in Christ and His testimony and His truth. The focus does not seem to be upon our testimony of salvation, but of us testifying of who Christ is.
