    Knowing that I am dragging the Holy Spirit through my mess and that I am grieving Him. Also, what helps me is to give the victory to God, anytime I start to think that it was my own will power, I would fall. Confession among Brothers is powerful so I would not discount that. Also, it's the dog you feed the most that will be the strongest. Turn off all shows for awhile. God bless you.

    Succumbing to lust leaves you without a vital piece of your armor, the breastplate of righteousness where the enemy can more easily destroy you and your testimony. Ephesians 6:11 Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. (Singleness is a gift, Amen.)

    Ok, the thing is with the truth is that the truth doesnt always come easy. Alot of the times the truth comes after you have peeled back a lot of layers of overburden. To uncover the truth you must first dig in the right place, and understand that the truth may be buried deep. So to this young man that is the subject of Tim's analysis of sin, I would say your habit is very likely a crutch for an underlying injury which is causing your pain and suffering. So identifying what is hurting and how it was hurt might be the key to uncovering the truth of the injury. Try to heal what has been hurt, and maybe you wont need the crutch, God willing.

    By the power of the Holy Spirit....Make no provision.....for the flesh.....do nothing that encourages sexual or sensual feelings.
    Does your clothing make you feel it?
    Is it your body wash?
    Is it your bed sheets?
    Is it where you go place to place?
    Is it where you eat?
    Is it where you work?
    Make no provision for those places or people or things...by the power of the Holy Spirit.
    Philippians 2:12

    The fact that this guy is seeking help might show he is a Christian. If he had been a Christian for years and still doing this behavior without Reading the Bible and seeking help maybe he isn’t. God provides brothers in the kingdom to help with this matter. Pasture Tim is leaving out scriptures like James 5:16. Overcoming sin is a process and God doesn’t expect a person that’s had an addiction for years to suddenly change over night. Yes we need to have those scriptures mentioned and prayer as a solid foundation. God provides us with brothers and sisters to help us overcome this battle.
    Most people can’t relate with people that have an addiction. So if a man is in a support group and allowing God to be in the center of it he is showing that he wants to please God and many people have become free by doing this. This may be different if you’re not addicted to the sin.
    Last thing is most people with an addiction have other problems and they fall into sexual sin to medicate. This is where we learn to depend on God not the sin. Brothers, support groups, and prayer partners are helpful.

      And so, if you are walking according to the flesh.... Not much hope of eternal life in that. 🫣
      "Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness?" Romans 6:16 KJV
      You are either a servant of God or a servant of Satan. It's your choice.
      ROMANS 2:5 But after thy hardness and impenitent heart treasurest up unto thyself wrath against the day of wrath and revelation of the righteous judgment of God;
      6 Who will render to every man according to his deeds:....
      "Behold therefore the goodness and severity of God: on them which fell, severity; but toward thee, goodness, if thou continue in his goodness: otherwise thou also shalt be cut off." Romans 11:22 KJV

      Paul said “I do not do what I want to do, but I do the very thing I hate”. Romans 7:15. Is this to say that if Paul stays in that he will perish in everlasting torment? I want to understand. Jesus washed every sin away, past, present, future. Living in sin and struggling with sin are very different. And yes, we should repent and stop giving into the flesh. But if someone is truly saved though they keep struggling does that mean they go to hell? That was Paul in Romans 7:15. That gets pretty hairy. Help me understand.

    • @MoonPhaze5
      @MoonPhaze5 Год назад +4

      @@andrewdescant4996 If I may share my understanding with you; Paul was not as he described himself in the flesh at the time he wrote Romans 7, as a slave to sin; but rather a redeemed saint of Lord Jesus Christ. Read Romans 6 and 8 along with chapter 7, otherwise chapter 7 alone can be very misleading, and make Paul look like a hypocrite; which we know was not the case.

    • @MoonPhaze5
      @MoonPhaze5 Год назад +3

      @@andrewdescant4996 One more thing.... It was important for Paul to describe the struggle in the flesh that is common to man, so that the hearers would understand that Paul was not some super human, but was made to overcome through the power of the Holy Spirit. It was not meant for Paul to appear to be wrestling with his flesh and losing to the passions thereof, but rather to help them understand and encourage them, that as he was enabled to overcome the flesh by the indwelling of the Holy Spirit which he had, that they (and we) should also experience the same freedom from sin by the power of the Holy Spirit, through faith.
      "But I keep under my body, and bring it into subjection: lest that by any means, when I have preached to others, I myself should be a castaway." 1 Corinthians 9:27 KJV

      @@MoonPhaze5 Thank you for clarifying. I appreciate it. I believe the confusion was I was thinking that if a Born again believer keeps a pattern of sin and lives in it that they will go to hell. When the actual truth is if they have an unchanged unrepentant life of sin then they weren’t saved to begin with, as I see in 1st John. As Tim Conway is quoting Christ that if you don’t amputate your right hand or tear out your eye that you’ll go to hell, basically because if you don’t cut off your hand or tear out your eye that it would prove you weren’t even a disciple of Christ at all. So those who do inherit eternal life are only of those who do amputate and who do tear out through the power of the Holy Spirit to overcome sin. Thanks again.

      @@companyboss5447 what do you mean what man says? Them having concubines doesn’t mean it’s right. That’s obvious. There’s a reason why Jesus condemns adultery. I am guessing you have not read revelation where that particular sin is heavily condemned. There’s a reason why christian men do not have multiple wives and take fornication lightly. You simply will not find it in any man who helped advance the faith through the Power of the Holy Spirit.

      @@companyboss5447 ok but fornication is. Sex outside of marriage is bad and there is a reason it’s looked down upon in the church. If somehow the church who advanced the church has been wrong from the apostles until current day then I’d be shocked. And I go to the church for extra verification bc they used Gods word to come about these decisions. And either way it’s clear fornication and sexual immorality and adultery are condemned.
