I have tried this method 2 days ago. It worked perfectly and the seal gone to its place in less than a minute. I am still amazed how this trick worked!! N
Does your seal have a spring ring around it. Shall I remove it to fit the sloped ring? This method drives the seal with solid hits but the seal still won't squeeze into the sloped ring
I’ve never had any issue. The material is soft enough that it doesn’t damage or stretch it. Rigid enough to drive it in but it’s still pretty soft so it doesn’t hurt the seal at all.
This puts a lot of force on the inner lip which is not ideal. It's made worse because you have to drive both bushing and seal at the same time. I've had good luck using PVC of the right size, an old seal cut in half or even carefully with a flathead

thank you so much will come back with results but definatly gonna try this first
Always good to have a seal driver on hand but if you don’t have one this is always a good trick.
Thank you!!!
Looks to me like you were driving the upper fork bushing and seal at same time - am I correct?
Got me out a jam. Cheers mucka👍
Sweeeeet. I always recommend using the right tool for any job but it’s always a good solution in a pinch.
You angel! 🙏🏽

Ily bro
Would this damage the lip on this while banging it? Maybe stretch it? Idk. Just asking because the tool im looking at is lile beveled for that lip

Any reason why duct tape or any thicker tape wouldn’t work? Less wraps is all I’m thinking.
Probably would. Might leave some adhesive residue behind is the only reason I use electrical.

I hate how effective this is, I spent half a day yelling every cuss I knew at this seal, job finished in 30 sec....
I been there brother. I know exactly how you feel.
G E N I U S!
Can this work on a klx110 fork ?
It should.
If you plan on keeping the bike for a while, invest in a $35 Tusk driver from RM. Use one of those and you'll never go back to this crap.
Congratulations! You are that guy! 🤣
