Regarding Jerome, elsewhere in the Griffin armor hunt Geralt finds a note that leads him to say something like "so Jerome's father accepted him as a witcher in the end." The note you read took place, I believe, soon after Jerome arrived and his father was forcibly conducting experiments against Jerome's will. With this in mind, Jerome might have believed he would die and wrote that note, but it didn't actually end so grimly. I could be wrong, but that's how it seemed to me.
@@Cynane27 it's not entirely clear. He definitely thought that was what would happen, but Geralt's comments regarding their reconcilatiation seem to indicate that things improved after that note was written. Perhaps I'm just overly optimistic.
Cynane the portal prison was the earliest place in the timeline. It was immediately after Jerome was captured by his father. He had no love for his father and was quite content with his witcher life so he refused the experiment. So the father used paralysis spell to capture him and locked him up in that prison. Then he was transferred to the chamber with the mutation machine. When the experiments only made Jerome stronger and less human, the father finally accepted his son would be a witcher forever and went back to his (wife? Girlfriend? Jerome’s mom?). The dialogues made it clear that it was acceptance and not hopelessness or hatred, so I’m positively sure Jerome walked free, albeit stronger and more witcher-like than before his captivity.
Moreau may be a reference to the HG Wells story, "The Island of Dr. Moreau." which is about a mad scientist who creates animal-human hybrids as servants.
Coronavirus has wiped out humanity, and the few remaining survivors stumble around in the ruins of civilisation, foraging for scraps. Xletalis: *uploads new Witcher 3 video*
I have finally began reading the books (I am currently on Sword of Destiny) and it got me in such a Witcher mood that I started another playthrough of Witcher 3.

I've read through the entire book series about 6 times, and every time I do, I finish with a fresh playthrough of W3. The one just so naturally transitions into the other.
On Moreau : notes from Fort Usar say that Jerome looked like a normal man, if it wasn't for the swords and his extensive knowledge of monsters, it means that Thomas Moreau was blinded by his prejudice against the witchers, and failed to see that his son was indeed human, and the mutations didn't really affect him aside from making him steonger and faster.
I don’t know about any of you but when I did the griffin school quest for the first time I actually felt for Jerome even tho we never met him. I also felt bad for his father he was just trying to get his son back.

Can you please make a video about the connection between the witch of lynx craig and Gaunter O'dimm? You can hear the same music in her hut than the one in the theater and the wight's quest which are obviously related to O'dimm, a broken mirror in her hut, and also the fact that a witch told olgierd about O'dimm. I think she's also the herbalist who gave the wight the healing herbs, because she describes her as a crone who seem to recognize the curse when she sees her, fear it and flees. She also grants wishes maliciously and has a pentagram in her hut. And why does she fear geralt finding her in the future. Very curious her character.. Would be cool if you did, and mentioned me! I've been searching for an explanation or a theory about this for so long!
@xLetalis about contrast at notes - Jerome wrote notes soon after father imprisoned him. It take a while for his father to test all ways to "cure" son from being a witcher so on this time Jerome could guess he will die there... yet as Monroe failed (understanding he only increased mutations instead cure from them) he propably released Jerome - father final notes are from AFTER ultimate failure. Shady exhange man you mentioned is called "Cinkciarz" in polish version of game (after a wiki) : "Cinkciarz (by distorting English change money, pronounced by cinkciarzy "cincz many" or "cieńć many") - colloquial term for a person who during the existence of the Polish People's Republic (1952-1989) conducted illegal currency trading, i.e. buying and selling US dollars, and also other convertible currencies and PeKaO dollar bills. The word itself appeared in the late 1950s, initially also in the form of a cinker or cyncaster, previously such people were referred to as a Black-headed Wattler, a Waltzman or a horse"

it may be obvious but the guy called MOreau is a reference to the book about the mad scientist who gets trapped on an island and creates human-animla hybrids
7:12 I definitely knew to keep Madame de Bourbeau's affair a secret... mostly because her husband was epitome snob and cold-hearted towards those he saw as below him and 1) he deserved to be taken for a fool 2) she deserved some kind of happiness to compensate for him. Divorce courts in the Witcher World don't really sound like it'd be a thing.
Yeah, I'm a bit shocked to hear Letalis say he's unsure. Some decisions in this game are tricky, this one wasn't. The insufferable lord only even has a wife due to the class he was born into, it's pretty clear that she's married to him by necessity, not love. She loses everything over a single weekend just so you can reward a guy who insulted and demeaned you mere moments ago. A guy who is dismissive of human life entirely if it isn't his.
if you go to Regis's hideout in the cemetery before saving Geralt from detlaff , geralt will have a little comment. and dont know yet if geralt will mention it when meeting him at the cemetery in quest.

I don't know if this is well known but to me it was interesting to find out. If you do the Quest with the 3 Brothers, "Father knows worst", and you decide not to fight against anybody, you can actually go and find them in Beauclair. Whats interesting is that you can trade with 2 Merchannts and one of them even takes the other currencies and changes them into crowns. He also pays way more for other stuff like Jewelry compared to others. Now I don't know if that is a Bug or something but I found it was interessting nevertheless.
also if you go to the Sommelier around the area where the Regial Statue is, sometimes there is a Bard playing the tune of "The Wolven Storm" the song that priscilla plays when you first meet her in Novigrad :).
I recently bought and have been playing RDR2 lately to try and forget about Witcher 3 and of course you upload and make me go through my 4th playthrough of witcher again!

Yeah I should, that's one theory I actually like :)
Shady exhange man you mentioned is called "Cinkciarz" in polish version of game (after a wiki) :
"Cinkciarz (by distorting English change money, pronounced by cinkciarzy "cincz many" or "cieńć many") - colloquial term for a person who during the existence of the Polish People's Republic (1952-1989) conducted illegal currency trading, i.e. buying and selling US dollars, and also other convertible currencies and PeKaO dollar bills. The word itself appeared in the late 1950s, initially also in the form of a cinker or cyncaster, previously such people were referred to as a Black-headed Wattler, a Waltzman or a horse"
interesting ;]
I just finished the Tuvol quest, and the wife actually goes off to cry even if you choose not to reveal her affair and give her the news of jean Lucs death!
To all Witcher lovers I highly recommend Joseph Anderson's Witcher review, first video of 3 is already out.
be prepared for a highly criticizing look at the games, not a standard "Oh, it's so good!!!!"
Those of you who know Anderson understands what I am talking about....
It is almost a documentary really, first video is 4:20 hours long.
well worth your time
I just finished all of these, and was getting worried because there wasn't more XD
nope ;] there is
@@xLetalis I gotta commend you for replying to these comments even tho you have 200K subscribers, not a lot of people do that.
@@Doom-if9xd I can't do it any other way ;]
it may be obvious but the guy called MOreau is a reference to the book about the mad scientist who gets trapped on an island and creates human-animla hybrids
hm I haven't heard of that before
@@xLetalis well I dunno if it's confirmed but that would make sense
What will be of me when the details are over?
Amazing video as always xLetalis
Cheating is never good, you hoe apologists.
@@Johnny3Batony the guy IS a piece of shit, to you and to everyone who is not as rich as him. So...
that falling whale must be a reference to the hitchhikers guide to the galaxy
if you go to Regis's hideout in the cemetery before saving Geralt from detlaff , geralt will have a little comment. and dont know yet if geralt will mention it when meeting him at the cemetery in quest.
that'll be in next video perhaps ;]
Aaaahhhh some quality time with a glass 🥃. Thank you very much for your effort. You really make my day. Also thanks to the viewers that provided you with some additional info.
My pleasure :)
Did you know that the quest in the bank is a reference to a scene from ''The Twelve Tasks of Asterix''?
RickeGnool wanted to mention that as well, glad to see others noticed that lovely reference :)
@@einindividuum5428 I watched the Asterix movies all the time as a kid so they have a special place in my heart.
RickeGnool me too, I whatched them whenever they were on TV and I had some of the comics and learned my first words in Latin from them xD
@@einindividuum5428 Funnily enough The Twelve Tasks of Asterix was the only movie we didn't own. I first saw that one as an adult when I bought a DVD collection of all the movies.
RickeGnool Cool you finally could watch this one :) I think it’s one of the best Asterix movies.

The Jean Luc...its a star trek easter egg....gotta be...because picard's family had vineyards
:D I thought about it... although is it that uncommon of a name?
to tell you the truth...i have heard the Jean Luc only one other time...so dont know....but given cdpr's thing for easter eggs....i bet its him
The one shot on golyatt was OP asf cuz I went to toussaint at a lower level then it suggests, then I 1 shotted him so I can try to get arerondight
0:52 "Anna Henrietta"
You recorded this in Detlaffs workshop?
yes
Was playing through blood and wine and realized there's a Toussaint version of loc' lomond that can be heard being sung during the quest where geralt is trying to find milton with the duchess
Why do you want to set everything and everyone on Fire?🔥😂😂
Never knew about the falling whale! Brilliant! Thank you xLetalis. It's a reference to Douglas Adam's Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy Series. Look it up if you have a few min between videos as it is very funny!
I have to, I haven't seen it ;]
Little bonus, Moreau's name comes from an old science-fiction novel called "the Island of Dr Moreau" where a mad scientist experiments on animals and creates mutants this way!
Also, the whole Bank quest is a pretty obvious reference to The Twelve Tasks of Asterix (well obvious if you have the reference)
Wow the things they do depending on endings are amazing
Xletalis Witcher videos best way to fight 💪 Corona virus
I hope so!
So those balls are actually magical... I shall keep them to myself next time I get to that quest.
What if you visit the kid at the second time without boots and without any shoes in your inventory? I mean Geralt can't put on some boots then.
yes, same as the first time, he'll end up polishing your bare feet ;]
that whale is definitely a reference to "A hitchhiker's guide to the galaxy." You should check if there is a potted plant falling as well
When I look in my subscriptions and I see a new xletalis video but yen wants to spend some time with me
Me: I will get on the unicorn after this video
BTW : I really did lose my memory and triss also did cast a spell on me
I don't know if this is well known but to me it was interesting to find out.
I believe someone once told me that you can find one of the brothers as a merchant, so I guess you're right!
#SaveIocaste
This video is amazing, as usual :)
Thank you ;]
I recently bought and have been playing RDR2 lately to try and forget about Witcher 3 and of course you upload and make me go through my 4th playthrough of witcher again!
hehe
This has nothing to do with Toussaint, but there is a side quest in Skellege where you get to work with the famed bounty hunter “Django Frett” which i think is a reference to Star Wars?
It's actually a coincidence
Yeah, that's true. Too obvious though, I thought ;]
xLetalis haha yeah
Love your TW3 videos always so fun to see how a company cared so much about their master piece. Would u consider doing mission rankings like main quests, secondary quests in each region?
I could I guess ;] thanks for the idea
Are you also gonna do missed details in the Witcher 1 and 2?
we'll see...
I honestly didn't know a good chunk of these. Awesome!
Damn, I love this game...
Glad to hear they're still interesting
