- This seemed like a great hotel on the surface, but they really missed the mark on cleanliness. Too bad--it's a nice property in a great location. Full thoughts on TripAdvisor: www.tripadvisor.com/ShowUserR...

Get a black light and take it with you on trips.
If you're ever in Seattle go to the Residence Inn at the water front near the space needle. They have balconies with the view of either lake union or downtown Seattle and the space needle! Its beautiful😊 just an FYI when staying at a hotel and your unsure if your bedding and towels are clean just ask the front desk for new ones, that's what I do!
2:27 I did not know that some hotels gave you a complimentary bag of microwave popcorn, I knew about the coffee and tea, but popcorn? That is one of the most interesting things to see in a hotel like that.
That's been a Residence Inn signature as long as I can remember dating back into the 1990s.
@@tjsynkral That is quite interesting, I have never stayed at a Residence Inn before, so that would be something to experience if I ever stayed at one.
Next time you are in CMH - Come stay at the Columbus Marriott Northwest! They recently remodeled most of the building and all of their rooms are remodeled as well. I think you'll love this particular hotel!
Someone on the cleaning staff probably has a badly shedding wig.
Persisely why I bring my own pillows
And probably one of the maids was shedding a couple of hairs in the bed sheet. Although that wouldn't scare me. If it was a plethora of hairs like the Inn at the Peachtrees, that would have me concerned
Hairs on bedding are usually from the house keeper. I’ve never seen a housekeeper wearing a hair net. It’s typical to find hairs in the bathroom (tub usually)
I would complain about the bed that's nasty, but the room is quite nice decor and what not.
This Hotel was built in 2014. The Residence Inn in Burbank was built in 2007.
Nice room beside the other things.
I was about to say that I stayed there, but realized that I actually stayed at the one at Easton.
I literally live a couple miles away from this hotel on Polaris property
I expected better for Marriott. Come on Marriott you can do better.
Damn that’s a shame I took some nice room tour out in Vegas I’m not sure if you seen them or not
I have the EXACT same microwave as that hotel room does
good review as always jacob. the issues in your room i would suggest are not to marriott standards (ive stayed in many). the sofa blanket in the cupboard is gross, i usually dont touch these as its widely known they dont really get washed. overall its a nice room, but they need to tighten up their cleaning and focus on attention to detail.

I saw the manager’s comment on TripAdvisor. Would you actually give the hotel a 2nd chance?
I expect better from a Marriott property!
Is there an elevator here?
I have a question for you. Being it seems that you use Lambert Airport often do you remember that tornado in 2011? And if so were you at Lambert Airport when it happened? If so I bet it was scary.
I actually got stranded out of town when it happened. Thankfully it only delayed us by a day. Here's what we came back to - ruclips.net/video/9air9-kAd7g/видео.html
furniture compliments each other. econolodge varies as well.
I hope they gave you enough Reward Points for at least a free night. We have stayed at several Marriott locations in La Jolla and Palm Springs and any time their was ANY problem we got a free night. One time it was over the hot water that had stopped working for a couple of hours after I had taken a shower and we got the stay free, and I didn't say anything. They insisted.
I will say those bad experiences happened only twice and I would not hesitate recommending them, except for the one you stayed at. I can't believe they had a circuit panel in a guest room. The place looked pretty nice if hairs aren't a problem, Yeech...
Our base line for a lousy stay was at the Pony Soldier Inn in Walla Walla Washington. Check out time was Noon. At about 08:15 the office called and asked if the Maid was in our room. OK we fall back to sleep and again they call about half an hour later, same thing and again one more time
.At checkout I told them we had a great experience visiting my old hometown with the exception of them giving us the "Bum's Rush"
It was weird, maybe we were the only guests on a vacation? How lame, "Is the Maid in your room"?
Did you get a new camera? You seem to be having a harder of a time controlling it then the Handycam.
Well thank goodness I wasn't asking you…
I picked up a used Sony HX30V last year for cheap as a replacement for the TX20. Intended just for 'out the window' footage during trip reports, but sometimes the Handycam won't fit in my bag when I have to pack for longer trips so it finds other uses.
Properties like this annoy me because they have the bones to be a fantastic hotel, but they’re let down by a lack of management/housekeeping.
Could you try to find a Courtyard by Marriot? Ive never been to one .
Never
Super Luigi Courtyards are kind of dumpy. Not that well up to date.
Disney Fan Ive never been to a Marriott and i really want to go to a Courtyard.
Courtyard's are great!!!! Stayed in many of them!!!
Floridian Elevators How expensive are they?
Disney Fan do you have OCD or something? Ive passed 20 of them and they all looked nice.
It seems maintenance and cleaning at Marriott properties are not that great.
If you saw my review of the Courtyard Marriott in Littleton, MA, there was hair and lint in the bed linens, latches that stick or don't work often, or doors getting stuck. The bathroom had toothpaste on the bathroom sink, and not shown, soap scum all over the shower (similar to the one you had there). There were filthy hand prints all over the bathroom doors and elsewhere.
Most of the non-full Marriott properties (i.e. Courtyard, Residence, Fairfield, etc...) are indecently owned and operated. And it shows sometimes. They don't seem to have very high standards for their franchisees so these places can be hit and miss. Hilton seems to do a better job based on my personal experience but my company rarely uses Hilton properties as our contracted hotels.
What a shame, especially for mid to higher-range hotels.
At least it's not "Dan Bell" quality. :)
I agree, Hilton lately seems to have overall better properties than Marriott. It won't keep me from staying at a Marriott property. I'm glad that hotel management addressed the issues. Thanks for a great video!
+nowhere near dan bell level, those rooms are horrid
Will Stonehocker if there were more Hyatts, I'd get on their rewards program, and try to rack up some points, but there's rarely more than one or two in a metro area, so there's not a lot of choice. And they're non-existent in non-metro areas. Hilton, Marriott and IHG seem to be the best ones for that sort of thing.
Just wondering, why do you say Columbus - Polaris? Polaris is it's own city 30 minutes from Columbus. I live near.
It's the actual name of the hotel, per Marriott - www.marriott.com/hotels/travel/cmhnc-residence-inn-columbus-polaris/
The Elevator Channel Thank you so much for replying! I didn't know that. Thanks for the info.
This hotel was built in 2014. This is why I try to avoid Marriott properties. I do like there New Springhill suites though.
...that's kinda sad, but I believe it
for a 2014 hotel they could do better.
Ok that's unacceptable for an Extended Stay Hotel especially since it's a Marriott Property and people could stay there for possibly a couple of weeks
6:10 maybe the maid got some of her hair on the bed but I’m not sure. Only 2 hairs wouldn’t make me panic
Where is Columbus Polaris?
Probably near Polaris Fashion Place.
That shower head position is so weird.
i was looking up car washes and i found one in columbus its a speedway gas if you can do a review here i would appriciate it *adress* 701 polaris pkwy
TheCarWashVideoTaper He's not in Columbus anymore
Ok, this is a Marriott? I'd expect way better than this. Even for an extended stay property, they should be ashamed of themselves.
Yeah, this place was a huge disappointment. I have no idea why their review average is so high.
gladfan1989 could have only been this one room. Residence Inn is usually nice.
The room wasn't that bad other honestly
This is why if you own a hotel, only hire folks with blonde or no hair lol....
This is rediculois for a marriott
There's a bible in the room?
That is pretty typical in the U.S. What I found unusual was the Book of Mormon next to it.
Weird
You can find bibles in most hotel rooms everywhere in the world.
Gross!
First!
