Hey Tom! Thanks mate - glad you liked it. Lots more EV reviews coming in the next few weeks, too: VW ID. 3 VW ID. 5 VW ID. BUZZ BMW iX1 Audi e-tron GT RS And probably more…!
nice review .......quite thorough. Question, what are your thoughts regarding towing with this vehicle, thinking of a very small teardrop trailer. If I'm willing to accept a 40-50% range loss.....would this be do-able ?
Hi mate, it has a maximum towing capacity of 1500kg for a braked trailer or 750kg for unbraked. So it should be able to easily deal with a teardrop. Is there any trailer that looks as slinky as this, though?
I like your review because of the "What's the competitor?" segment. I don't always agree but it is good info to consider alternate options/views. Keep up the good work.
Hi, very informative and clear review, thank you. I’m in the don’t want an SUV EV camp and have tried a Polestar 2, BMW i4 and a Cupra Born. I’m leaning towards the P2 but it’s price and somewhat compromised packaging has me wondering if the Ioniq 6 is a better alternative. It’s impossible at this stage to get a test drive of the Ioniq 6, so any feedback in comparison to the Polestar 2 AWD would be appreciated. Thank you again
Thanks Ralph. Glad you enjoyed the video and found it somewhat helpful. If you need a bigger boot and a lot of rear seat legroom, then I’d say the Ioniq 6 will be the better option for you. The P2 is a lovely car but also a bit compromised in terms of the packaging, like you say. I prefer the ride comfort in the Hyundai too - I’ve found the P2 to be a bit hard over bumps especially with the silly sporty suspension. Have you thought about the MG4? 550km claimed range for $55,990 MSRP, and it’s a hatchback!
Interestingly Chasing Cars and Car Expert when reviewing this model spoke high praises of the ride and handling. Such contrasts in reviews is very confusing for potential buyers I must say 🤔
Good for them, but I hear what you’re saying. Look, we all have different expectations and levels of enthusiasm for new cars. I try to approach things in a level headed way - like, I’m going into it imagining I’m on a test drive and whether I’d be happy with the car or not is basically what I film for you to take as advice. I wasn’t that impressed. CarExpert tests in unrealistic (read, not real) conditions. Chasing Cars was on the same drive loop I was, but I really didn’t think it was spectacular.
Polestar is a fair bit smaller. Considered including it but figured the rivals I chose fit the brief a bit better. I hope you like yours! What colour did you get?
You show us all of the features and tricks of the Epiq top-of-range model, then "this is the base model car, the 18" wheel car"? Huh? Exactly WHICH car are you reviewing? At 11:03 you show driving the Epiq with the side-cams. The base model car with 18" wheels should give a better ride as well as longer range. Also it is a RWD-only model 🤔
As a video, I assume you mean? There are written examples. I’m sure someone is working on a video comparison test with all the usual elements - but a spec comparison video could be a fun experiment!
Hyundai: let’s free up some space in the centre console by replacing the shifter knob with a shifter stalk Also Hyundai: let’s put the window control buttons in the centre console because there is some space there
will be useless as an everyday proposition as not a lift back which would offer so much more flexability... at least Hyunday keep pushing boundaries....
@@therightcar To be fair lightly Used. A quick search in my area turned up a 2017 Carrera for 86k and a Panamera turbo for 70k. Still more than I can spend for a car.

Hey matt, awesome review on the lonig 6 (found the vid 😉), I do agree with you on the side mirrors would be so annoying,

Thanks! I realised it was something that people would hopefully appreciate. Thanks for the feedback!
It's very streamlined yes...As was the Ford Taurus from 1996..
You know I was thinking that, but it also has some AU Falcon lines….

No I hadn’t, thanks for the reply and suggestion. Much appreciated.
Get the Ioniq 6.
have not seen one in canada
Let us know when you do!

You didn't mention the Polestar 2? I picked up my 6 today and am enjoying it for the brief moment I've driven it.

I went to the launch of the entire range and had limited time to shoot a bit of video content on site.
How does the ride comfort rate on a scale of “really comfortable” to “Tesla Model Y” ?
The Y I drove was hard. This was not hard. Hah
Good review, thanks!
I wish someone would do a feature/price comparison between the model 3 and this car.

Anything is better than a Tesla
What makes you say that?

I agree a lift back would have been a better design outcome. There must have been a reason not to …
way too expensive for a hyundai
Fair call!
is wearing a hat your signature ? haha
Yes. It is rare that I’m not wearing a hat.

For that much I'll take a Porche thank you 😜
