Made Sturgis once, Daytona twice back in the 90's. Froze my ass off one year at Daytona. Never went back. Great riding around Sturgis but about two hours in town was enough.
That's why you and some people you love save up and make it a bucket list event. That's my plan: one and done for $500 per day per person. Have a great time and move on to something else on the list. But if on a budget reserve a hotel room with kitchen preparing most meals and only eat one meal out daily. There's lots of ways to skin this cat.
