It's been mentioned a couple of times already, but I feel like this video is a huge step up. It's like Felix's style and professionalism meets older project kamp videos. We can really feel you guys listen to feedback and we see the style of the videos evolve in a great direction Love tuning in every week to watch these, they're truly a breath of fresh air

This feels so much better! Dave is back and we learn some names of the new people and we get a better feel for the land by looking at the new map. I just want to say (I'm sure you have been told many times before) that all the criticism that popped up after the latest videos was done by people who LOVE what you are doing and are therefore super-invested in your channel. I think it shows for a great mentality that you were able to incorporate all the thoughts of your viewers in such a short time. I really enjoyed watching this!
Fully agree with your comment. This video feels more similar to what a lot of us enjoyed about last season. Having less b roll and more interview style/computer screen footage was what was missing for me for a few videos but I felt like I got those things back here. My only personal suggestions for further improvements are less rock music and more of that upbeat country we’ve seen before, and as most others are saying, more Dave. Really looking forward to Year 2 & 3 of this project.
For the chainsaw, buy or arrange a chain sharpener. Also pay attention to the chain tension otherwise the chain may run off the bar. And please wear saw pants when using the saw, if you slip, a ride to the ER will take a very long time.
Yes, I think some general chainsaw training would be good. In one of the scenes the chainsaw bar got pinched in the wood. This can be avoided, for example.
A sharp saw is a safe saw. The effort involved in forcing a dull saw (with loose tension) makes the user more vulnerable to injury. Take care of your tools and the tools will take care of you.
I would like to second the idea! maybe just put it on your staff list: someone who can use a chainsaw properly and safe :) I mean it seems ok, but guys chainsaws are extremely dangerous! For example, around 2:30 that branch should have been cut from the bottom up, so the blade/chain does not get pinched by the wood.
Last few weeks have had good videos but this one feels like we are back to form! This time with great editing and music. Always love watching the working progress!
People just need to understand that it takes time to develop a new videoformat. In the tv-world it takes months of testing, re-editing, re-writing to find the perfect flow and storytelling style for a new programme. In Project Kamp's case the video developing phase is basically public, so people shouldn't freak out yet. In my opinion it is definitely getting better with each update. For me a little less beautyshot scenes and a bit more story and developing would be preferable. But like Dave said, you can't make it perfect for everyone. Good busy!
You answered it though. Because of the feedback, it wont take months to get to a point the audience wants. People expressing honest opinions in a civilized way helps
Indeed, I agree, in a civilized and constructive way feedback is obviously valuable and you need it to mold the style. I was more referring to the demanding and compelling critiques.
In addition to being more informational about the projects, this format also includes Dave. His presentation and charisma is key to making these videos work.
I've seen the chainsaw getting a bit stuck while cutting the mimosa. When you have a branch hanging on the air, cut it from the bottom to top, otherwise when the chain gets almost down the branch will grab it. Like others said, sharpening and buying safety gear is a must. I've binge watched the whole playlist for the past few days and I loved it. Keep it going like that. As a portuguese, I'm glad that a project like this with that variety of nationalities and great people is taking place here in Portugal!
I like the evolution of the project including the video style changes. My only input re videography is that your older videos were entertaining documentaries and felt denser in content ( in a good way), where as the new ones have lost informational content in favour of atmospheric cinematic musings on a romanticised version of life in project camp. I have felt that a 20 minute video could have been half that and had the same info in them. Keep up the good work hope this helps 🙏
dave's videography was beautiful but the upgrade in the focus a devoted filmer can give is incredible. Felix truly has a gift. and obviously, it's good to hear Dave's voice again!
I love this episode, it has both good quality scenes and information to understand what is going on in the land. I believe previous episodes felt a little bit far because since it has changed a lot in the Kamp, we didnt know the people and the system but as we got familiar it become much more relatable. Thanks Dave, Thanks Felix for letting us know this important project. I wish luck all the people out there. Greetings from Turkey!
could be interesting to focus on one person each week, following what they do and learning about who they are, alongside also seeing major developments
Yes, I would love to get to know the people-side bit more, the characters and relations, and what you individually bring to the project. I'd understand if that would be to personal for you guys. I'm a fan of voice-overs, this video was great! Well structured
Highlights: 1. I love the video of the pup, really reminds me that its not just all work, there relaxation being had, obviously not just by the dog, but it refocuses the mind to not just stuff getting done, but enjoyment being had. 2. I love that you include different peoplr, I wish I could be involved somehow and maybe down the road my wife and ai will have an opportunity to support. But in the videos, you include everyone - everyone has value, people matter. 3. Respect to Nature, tree and shrubs need to be cleared - but you guys are tearing everything down and that is important. i love you are looking out for what is best for the balance of it all. 4. Weather - it happens, but even on the stormy days, you are all actively doing something - not lazy. maybe relaxing but moreso enjoying. 5. upcycling the table is exciting to see. keep it up. drawbacks: 1. there are still a few points when the volume changes and you can hear what is happening, in these times its be a great place to cut the noise and replace it with music. 2. the graphics were terrible for the map - the point is made - but a better version would be great even if briefly. in the end its fine not to get it, but hopefully we see a part two with the better qaulity version, a diorama would be neat but obviously not needed lol. 3. more insight as to how us normal people can help. prayer, funds, what?
i love the video sytle right now. I enjoy different people speakig, small interviews, beautiful shots and the music is always perfect :) keep it up Felix
Nice work with the tables. I liked very much seeing Dave coming forward and addressing the video's topic. On the other hand, I don't think you should care too much about our feedback. The project and its goals is the main thing. Keep going building purposeful stuff. I will be following the journey :)
I think Felix is an important addition to your group and the channel. 👏 I also think that this week's episode is more coherent (easier to watch) than S2, E 1&2 with less jump and focused shots. But it is always going to be a challenge to document everything going on. All the more so with a bigger crew and multiple projects on the land happening concurrently. Thank you for making the effort to share your adventures with all of us on RUclips.
I love the new style! It's clear we are getting more information and a little more personal view of some things going on, much more entertaining overall I think. Great stuff!!
We're happy with ALL the various versions. Show the work being done, show the people we have come to love in focused cameos, show the land & the wildlife, show the Kamp and how far along it has come, talk about future plans, show chilling & socializing after work, explain a process technically, etc. Since we care about this community development process very greatly, every video is precious to us. And, yes, we missed you folks over the winter, but we could understand your need to slow down & go offline during the dark, cold & challenging winter months. We are so delighted that you are back online and we can virtually mingle with the group. You are all fascinating & hardworking people and we wish you the very best with your project. Greetings from America.
The new videos are terrific. They, along with the original videos, document the process you are going through in creating Project Kamp. Keep up the good work.
I just simply love the on going team work at everything that needs doing. Cannot get enough of watching all the amazing & beautiful changes that go on.Fulls my Heart ❤
Logical. Straightforward. Development. You summed it up nicely. The one year recap was super well done and I'd be interested in watching more videos in that style.
I personally like the new style. I’m from Medford Oregon- USA. I enjoy seeing the efforts of different staff people and there comments. Seeing the in-depth developments is awesome, best of luck to you all!👍😁🌴
I would like to see an Update for the Building that was taken by nature. Maybe just an Update for the Plans you have with this Building. I like the Style of the Editiing. Felix is doing a great Job.
I guess it makes sense that with a new video maker comes a new style and that's ok with me as long as I can continue to see all the projects and progress. I also want to say how AMAZING the ladies of Project Kamp are and it especially shines in this episode! I appreciate all your hard work and it always inspires me to do better in my own life! Thanks for sharing! Shalom from Mesa, Arizona USA!
About the video editing, I'm liking it as I did the one's on the last season! It's different but it serves the same goal that's show us the project!! Thank you again for sharing! It's very very inspiring
I like the new style and as the Kamp scales and you have more parallel projects it's only logical you can't be everywhere at once to film it AND edit it AND still do other projects on your own. Soon you will have so much content that you won't need to take a season Break in winter anymore. Anyway, super impressed with what you guys are doing and I hope it lays the groundwork to serve as an example for many others. On one hand I'd love to join but on the other I'm to weak to go vegan :P and besides I have my own Kamp to manage here with my wife and newborn daughter. Greetings from Belgium!
I am a new subscriber and can only say this style of video is exactly what made me subscribe. Relaxing, fun, educational, personal, beautiful. A good mix. No one and nothing can never stay the same. Growth requires change, always. And with a mix of opinions, you need to stay true to yourself, not try to please a crowd that will never be united in what they want.
Thank you all for being transparent and for valuing our feedback. Dave is nice to see you again, even if Felix is doing the new videos you shouldn't disappear from them ;) This episode was really nice, coming back for the old type of straightforward videos, that in my opinion, I enjoy the most because i felt more into the project and learning better. I felt we jumped some informations in the previous ones and that the videos could be a bit shorter (some plans are too long and repetitive). It would also be nice to share a bit more information of how you organize yourselves, what are your names, where you came from, what's the role in the project, background,... Changes are necessary and we are happy to see you growth, so keep going :)
Variety is a spice for life. The format last season was good, but I trying new formats and approaches to see what works is a good idea, which I applaud. I'm sure all the new people will get more comfortable and confident in front of the camera with a bit of time and patience, just like you did. BTW the chain on your chainsaw needs sharpening, it is quiet easy skill to learn.
I’d really love to see video portraits on the helpers and everyone involved in the project in these videos. Who are they, what are their skills and expertises, where do they come from and what motivated them to come and help in Project Kamp!
Felix thanks for all your hard work your use of space when videoing is lovely. I would like to see more of the conversations between people included as it explains the reasons why the projects evolve as they do rather than jumping to how it was done, this aspect of the collaboration and negotiation of community life is the heart of this entire project and is so good to learn from. Thank you
Like the new style and appreciate the freedom it gives you to show all the features of projects you are working on. Also love the adorable shots of your canine friend at the kamp. He seems to follow the camera man everywhre. A very loyal friend
WOW! I never knew so much was possible through hard work and friendship. Beautiful videography, beautiful music, beautiful people, beautiful land. Your progress and hardworking 'family' are amazing. Thank you for expanding my belief of what's possible through manual labor and my trust in good, kind people.
OMG!!!! This Drone mapping is SOO COOL! And also very useful! Sent to my dad already because this will come very handy for him! Thank you very much to share , as always ❤️
The cinematography looks really good for as remote and rustic as your site is! The introduction of the Kamp volunteers was also refreshing as it highlights who they are, and what they are bringing to the project. As for housing/scalability, have you considered using surplus Army A-frame/GP Medium tents? They are very rugged, can house 8-10 people, and extremely adaptable to whatever your needs may be.
This episode was great! Really love what you are doing and it feels you took in a lot of the recent feedback. Having multiple people talk and guide us through the episode was a nice element. And I‘d be happy to see all the new people slowly being introduced like Jeannie was in this video. Keep up the great work!

I would prefer longer form video. I've watched all Project Kamp videos. And and I'm fan since Phone Bloks. Dont wory about uploading 60min+ monday video. I will watch it anyway. Keep up the good work! Love it!
In the previous videos I really enjoyed the checklists of what was coming up and what was accomplished. It really gave an ideal overview of the long term plan for the project.
It's good to see you've finally got (or almost got) a good height map, so you can look at opportunities for rainwater capture, and hopefully some upper level ponds that can gravity feed water for use in fire events, droughts, etc. It's really the basis of land management in general. As to the video style, I like that there's more of a feel for what life at Kamp is like, and the trend towards more explanation of what people are actually doing and why they're doing it is positive. I was especially happy with the music in the bit where they were sanding the tables. I'm from rural east coast Canada originally, and that's very much fiddle country, often with piano accompaniment, so it's really good to hear that sort of music here.
I think what you guys are accomplishing is amazing. I’m thankful we are able to watch. Filming and editing is a full time job and having 1 person dedicated to this job is smart . Keep up the great content. Watching All the way from Ontario Canada !!
Just found your channel last week through the YEAR 1 summary video, & I'm really loving this project and everyone involved. So stoked for what's to come.
Hi from Australia, I do not have any talents except being a good mother and grandmother. Your videos have made me wish I had followed another path, than a grandchild will come over and I forget it until I watch another video. Your style of video was great but I could see you waning toward the end of Season One, you look rested and that is that. The new video maker is doing great. Best wishes to you all and good luck the season.
I personally don't think people should be getting emotional in the comments and being so direct in telling you what you should be doing like they did in the first of this season. It is up to you as Project Kamp to feel your way through it, you are a bunch of intelligent people after all. I wish you all the luck in the world.
I love watching your progress. If you ever run out of *things* to show us, just show us the *people* in a more detailed manner. I'd love to learn more about everyone living at Project Kamp. Feel free to give them some creative space about what to tell and what not to tell us in their own little segments. Keep up the good vibes! Love from Germany Maximilian
Love the evolving style it is organic. It is great having a few different subjects every week. May I ask if each little film can have the presenter introduce themselves clearly in a static shot that is constant throughout the piece to camera? Most importantly tell the viewer of their story.
Love this project. Been a fan since day 1. Am from Kenya. Currently exploring options to start a similar project but adaptable to my rural environment which is right at the door step of Lake Victoria. The new video guy is a genius. Great choice in hiring him. Can't wait for the next video. Say hi to everyone☺️
Never thought i could be super invested on a RUclips channel all the way from Kenya. Felix and team is doing a good job so far. The criticism both positive and negative will in the end give good result or as they say in my community 'smooth seas do not produce skillful sailors'
Good stuff, Kampers! I got a thrill at 12:16, when I recognized the "Weasels Ripped My Flesh" tee shirt that one of the fellows is wearing. I was about to be a Junior in college in the summer of 1970 when the album came out. Congratulations, young hippies. I respect the lives you are living!
Awesome progress !!!! I suggest that you have a program called USING A CHAINSAW and another called BASIC RULES ABOUT USING SAWS ,POWER AND MANUAL. My suggestion comes from watching the group remove the fallen trees in the this video and, specifically how to safely deal with fallen trees and not seizing up your saw due to not understanding the principles at work.I could offer help.
I think the new person doing the video is doing a great job, very entertaining. I liked the first videos too, the important thing is that you did the videos not how. And for that a very large hug to your whole crew!!!
This was the best video of season 2 so far. Loved that Dave was back as his style was a big part of season 1. Also it would be nice to re-introduce member (for eg. text over video or even better: Dave voice over) regularly so we can keep up with all the members. Also super happy that the timelapse/accelerate videos are back. I prefer those much more than low energy scenic shots of nature. Makes me feel like we are part of the process with you guys and motivates me on my own projects at home!
Love the videos and I especially like seeing the growth of your Kamp, the people and videos. How exciting to be able to be a part of it all. Strong work everyone!! ((The music choices have been, and are, fantastic!))
Thanks for the latest video, like lots of others I loved seeing the mapping - what a brilliant way to visualise the land! One thing that I feel is missing from the videos is a unifying thread that shows how each project or step is connected to the one before it, and how that is contributing to the overall vision of Project Kamp. Like in the last episode of season 1 Dave did a look back on the whole process and showed what had been done and how that had moved the project forward. In software development (where I work) we group pieces of work into larger themes. You could, for instance, have one theme, which might be “make the kamp more friendly” and within that you could have mini-projects like “extend pizza oven”, “make a bigger table” etc etc. and then in each video, you could say, we did mini projects X, Y, and Z which contributed to themes A, B, and C. I think that would give the videos more of a sense of continuity, and for me, give me a greater appreciation for the whole picture and where you want to get to by the end of each season. Hope that’s helpful - all the best, and thanks again for producing such great videos on such a cool project :) Sam
Every Season will change and that's great. for viewers who like it and those who don't always will watch. hope you guys keep doing what is BEST for the continuation of your project. BoL
You’re living the dream and I’m hooked! Just found your recap vid and had to binge watch to catch up 🤨🥰 You’re creating something super special there. Thank you for sharing your journey, your tribe and your love with us all! 🤍🌎✌️
I'm just so happy that y'all are back and posting videos... Phillip you are doing a fine job .. only complaint I have is the videos are too short.. show us more of what y'all are doing .
Really love watching you take on such a large and collaborative project. I preferred the original video style in that it made me feel like I was working along side you. This latest video is coming around to a balance between the two styles - less artistic interpretation and more of what you guys are doing day to day. Appreciate what all of you are contributing to the project and the world.
I am a waste, sanitation and renewable energy expert and I love your green field projects. I guess wood will be a major energy source, and I recommend rocket stoves so you can utilize small branches for cooking. If you want to increase fertility of soil with biochar can look at Kontiki kiln. I also recommend black and grey water separation, using garden as grey water drainage, and replace your compost toilet with a Biogas digester for all your organic waste and black water. This can produce enough cooking gas. If your solar PV has batteries, highly recommend you convert the top pond into a reservoir and pipe the water to the lowest point and run a small hydro turbine that can be turned on to charge your battery for the winter when there is less sun. You can also look into Genoa Sterling , for small sterling engines that can run on burning wood, but that is very exotic. From your video my first assessment is there is enough waste wood on the property to sustain your cooking needs for two years before you need to start harvesting trees, but it will not last forever, especially if you start to utilize the two ruins. Solar and hydro plus good battery storage on site will be sufficient for future expansions but you will need to relive on biogas for cooking gas in the future. Can look into growing some cash crop and energy crop mix and taking waste agriculture products from neighbors to feed your digester.
How cool to have the topographical map! I’m sure, as you said, it will come to be very helpful to plan out a number of things in the future. Congrats on all the help to accomplish this.
I like both styles of videos! They both have their pros and cons. I think it has to go this way because as you get more people you will have more going on, and this style will better capture that
Great new formatting. Nice to see the Kamp evolving and the characters that make projects happen. Thanks for sharing, I watched all your vlogs, keep up the good work gang.
Great new vidwo. Felix is a superb videographer. If i might make a suggestion? Put a little name overlay on each person that is presenting at that time. So people get to learn names, especially new viewers have haven't been watching since Ep1, its an easy in for people. But great job everyone! Love these little weekly movies.
I think this video has the best of the old and new styles. I would love to see more videos like this. Looking forward to next weeks video, keep up the great work.
I'm super happy with whatever video format comes. The only critique I really had was the first new video without much commentary and long B-Roll shots, It was difficult to follow and felt kinda empty, but that already changed with the second video so I'm excited to see what you guys come up with. Having a narrator in the video that introduces everything and everyone like Dave did in the past is a good starting point I believe. (:
as an ex-painter I would say this, wear a mask when sanding...always. You have no idea what toxic crap is being released into the air - even outside. stay well, you are doing an amazing job.
I love all the videos the same, thanks for taking the time to make them. You will never make every one happy, just do and experiment with what makes you all feel good and happy. In the end the positive vibes will win. 💪😀😎😉
It's been mentioned a couple of times already, but I feel like this video is a huge step up. It's like Felix's style and professionalism meets older project kamp videos. We can really feel you guys listen to feedback and we see the style of the videos evolve in a great direction

Agreed, that made me cringe being ex forestry. A good pair of chaps, ear muffs, steel cap boots, hard hat and visor are well worth the investment.

@@tonywhitley6929 I agree completely...problem is that they do not have anybody to teach how to sharpen it...it needs practice....

Absolutely loving these videos! Production keeps getting better! keep it up guys!!
The change in video making has been great (this is a personal opinion) and it's great to see the way that it is flowing
I enjoy the pollinator moments in the videos. It is calming. I feel peaceful.

Having someone editing videos for us to watch is so important. Editing takes a lot of time. I like all the videos.
Well done guys KEEP IT UP! The videomaker so talented and i enjoy his style so much

The new videos are terrific. They, along with the original videos, document the process you are going through in creating Project Kamp. Keep up the good work.
Nice the timelapse, I'm loving it
I just simply love the on going team work at everything that needs doing.
Felix is doing a great Job.
soon!
Dave is nice to see you again, even if Felix is doing the new videos you shouldn't disappear from them ;)
This episode was really nice, coming back for the old type of straightforward videos, that in my opinion, I enjoy the most because i felt more into the project and learning better.
This video was way better, felt a lot more like before, and before is absolutely great!!! Good job!
I really like the new style of videos. I'm somewhat new to this channel but the ones from season two feel way more professional.
Really enjoy the new process of showing viewers the content. Very professional and well documented. Keep up the good work folks.
Liked the sit downs to understand what is going on! Also to have a good beginning and end to each video helps allot
Best wishes to you all and good luck the season.
sharpen the chainsaw, and tighten the chain, dangerous especially with no safety gear
The videos are great! The most important part is the project anyway and with Felix it's comfortable to follow the process
I personally don't think people should be getting emotional in the comments and being so direct in telling you what you should be doing like they did in the first of this season. It is up to you as Project Kamp to feel your way through it, you are a bunch of intelligent people after all. I wish you all the luck in the world.
I enjoy both styles of videos. Glad that we still get to hear directly from you. What you and your team are doing is amazing.
Yup much better with this one, working with Felix' style and incorporating the building and information about the project.
Keep working hard.
I love watching your progress. If you ever run out of *things* to show us, just show us the *people* in a more detailed manner. I'd love to learn more about everyone living at Project Kamp. Feel free to give them some creative space about what to tell and what not to tell us in their own little segments. Keep up the good vibes!
Love from Germany
Maximilian
Love the evolving style it is organic. It is great having a few different subjects every week. May I ask if each little film can have the presenter introduce themselves clearly in a static shot that is constant throughout the piece to camera? Most importantly tell the viewer of their story.
Love this project. Been a fan since day 1. Am from Kenya. Currently exploring options to start a similar project but adaptable to my rural environment which is right at the door step of Lake Victoria. The new video guy is a genius. Great choice in hiring him. Can't wait for the next video. Say hi to everyone☺️
Its like making a new town,
Love the process
the pacing on this episode seems a lot better to, great work
Never thought i could be super invested on a RUclips channel all the way from Kenya.
It was nice to see the second-hand love to old but truly still great pieces of furniture. Thank you. :)
Hope that’s helpful - all the best, and thanks again for producing such great videos on such a cool project :)
Sam
Every Season will change and that's great. for viewers who like it and those who don't always will watch. hope you guys keep doing what is BEST for the continuation of your project. BoL
That mapping w/ the drone is incredible! I had no idea they could do that!
You people are building a heaven in the woods.. Great work❤️
I like both styles of videos!
Nice video. So happy to see Dave again. Sending love from Philippines ❤
You will simply never please everybody. The videos look great
Topography is so useful! Love seeing your progress!
Just started watching you guys and I know I’ll definitely be here for awhile! Much love and keep up the great work!
Loved this video! So great to hear from new people and see the developments
This video was great! It balanced Felix's style with narration and information like before - I really couldn't ask for more :D
as an ex-painter I would say this, wear a mask when sanding...always. You have no idea what toxic crap is being released into the air - even outside. stay well, you are doing an amazing job.
Great work Project Kamp, love the whole process 🙏
Very new to these videos but am loving what I see, can't wait to see how this project turns out in the future!
Found out about yall 2 days ago, I'm ready to follow this journey for the following years!
good job, felix
I love all the videos the same, thanks for taking the time to make them. You will never make every one happy, just do and experiment with what makes you all feel good and happy. In the end the positive vibes will win. 💪😀😎😉
