    Specific and exact .. thanks 👌
    I have some questions about slow jigging .. if length of hook line matter .. if type and color of hook matter ..

    • @SouthFloridaSaltwaterFishing
      @SouthFloridaSaltwaterFishing  3 года назад +1

      Thanks a million for watching and leaving some great feedback. Always awesome to hear from you. When it comes to slow pitch, I first started out with a long leader (like 50 feet) but I progressively shortened it. I find the best length leader to be about 15 feet long. I use 40 lb test fluorocarbon for a leader line. The hooks, color doesn't matter, but the wire thickness does make a difference. Slow jig hooks are thinner and sharper... The thicker wire hooks are typically for vertical speed jigging. It comes down to noise. Underwater the heavier hooks are making more noise. Slow pitch is about stealth, trying to get a fish at rest to eat... So extra noise takes away some of the stealth factor and detracts from enticing the impulse to feed on an otherwise easy target. Hope this helps. Tight lines & take care ;)

    Hi Heath, Great tackle and tactics for Yellow Tail fishing. I wish I lived in Florida, to be able to fish year round. Things are slow in South Jersey until the Stripers arrive. Stay safe and good luck, Mickey

      Hi Mickey, Thanks for watching. Right now, I've been land locked for a couple of weeks as the prevailing northeasterly winds travel our way, but this is a yearly event. However, you are right, the species and what we have going on down here is hard to compare to... If you ever make your way down here, please hit me up. Thanks for everything. Take care ;)

    Hi Heath. Where are you buying those jigs? I looked on Amazon, and I didn't that specific one anywhere. True Value Boca on Spanish River?

      Those specific ones in that video I got from Bass Pro in Ft. Lauderdale

      @@SouthFloridaSaltwaterFishing Thank you Heath. I ended up buying from Amazon to avoid the drive down to FLL.
      Other thing - I have to give you my thanks and appreciation for literally having learned how to fish. I started at ZERO (equipment, setup, baits/lures, and techniques, and trolling). Within three years now, I have landed one Sailfish, many Mahi, 1 decent Wahoo, and a football BF tuna. I catch fish 1 out of 7 trips. I think that's a bad ratio. I've also tried yellow-tail snapper fishing about 10 times now. Nothing but 1 non-keeper. I NEED HELP. Biggest problem is not knowing where to find them - and no one's talking about that. Only talking about "how" to chum them in. With 30 miles of reefs alonf the coast north and south of Boynton (where I fish), it's no man's land. I need to hire you for a day of hands-on training. I trust you, and not other captains around here. What are the chances you might do this? I can provide contact info.

    • @SouthFloridaSaltwaterFishing

      You can order them from bass pro shop. They are from a company called Hook-up lures. The size is 1/8 ounce. Then the trailer hook is a 1-0 j-hook
