Gave a video like. Thanks for participating in the VR! Love the Hershiser, Gibson and Strawberry choices! Hershiser was one of my absolute favorites growing up. Fond memories of my grandma having some Strawberry cards waiting for me when I went to visit her. Always love seeing his cards. Enjoyed hearing about your favorite homer as well!
It was a really fun topic Brian! Cool about your grandma having Strawberry cards waiting for you, he could have easily ended up with 500-600 HRs, real shame!
Hey Steve! Congrats to your Dodgers! Nice job with Brian and Rob’s VR’s. Hershiser was a nice choice for Hodges VR. I’m a little too young to have memories of Strawberry, Hershiser, or Gibson in their prime. Really enjoyed hearing your stories about the home runs. Especially begging your mom to stay to watch Hank Aaron, haha. Can easily see why that’s your number one. Great job, Steve. Have a great Halloween.
Awesome VR Steve! I thought about Hershiser, Gibson and Strawberry when I was getting ready to do my VR for Brian! That season Hershiser had in 1988 was epic! Gibson was a tough guy who was fun to watch, it’s a shame that injuries plagued his career. Of course that World Series home run he hit off Eck is legendary! Strawberry was a great player when he came up, even though his off field issues got in the way he still ended up having a pretty good career!
Thanks Jim! That 88 season for the Dodgers was an amazing one, there is no way they should have beat the Mets or A's that year. Gibson and Hershiser put that team on their backs for the majority of the year. Strawberry did end up having a really good career, we will always wonder what could have been with both him and Doc Gooden! Have a great weekend my friend!
Hi Steve, the three you picked in the beginning Garvey, Parker and Mattingly along with McGWIRE and Stewart were my favorites to watch growing up. I don’t think Dave Stewart is quite a HOFer but I would like to see the others get in. I was rooting for Oakland in 88 and the Gibson home run was a killer. Looking back now, I have so much more appreciation for what he did that day. I am more fond now of “The Bulldog” too. In the mid to late 80s you had Mattingly as the best in the AL and Strawberry in the NL. Who didn’t think they were going to the HOF? They were fun to watch. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks Terry! It is funny you mentioned McGwire and Stewart because as I was picking three players I had narrowed it down to 5 and those two were there. I am a big McGwire fan and loved to watch him play, Stewart was just nasty and loved to pitch in the big game. The A's were always my second favorite team since the early 70''s. The 1988 season was a weird on for me, I was living in Northern California and had purchased a 20 game ticket package. I probably went to 25 A's home games that summer rooting for them each time, then the Dodgers end up playing them in the World Series. As much as I enjoyed the A's that year I was rooting for my Dodgers in that series. The Dodgers and A's played each other in two world series, 74 and 88. I was lucky enough to get to go to games in both series, the A's broke my heart in 74 so 88 was some overdue payback! Mattingly and Srawberry both looked like Hall of Fame locks in the late 80s, they were just amazing players for a 5-6 year run! Have a great weekend !
I like your usual suspects for the HOF with Mattingly and Garvey. Digging the Strawberry, Gibson and Hershiser choices though! Love the story about seeing hank aaron play! Great share as always Steve.
Steve! The way you described Hank’s record breaking home run was amazing! What a historic moment and exceptional memory for you, my friend. You are one of my favorite people in the community, so I’m genuinely honored and grateful that you took the time to make a VR. Thanks again and good luck in the giveaway!
Congrats on your Dodgers winning. Orel, Gibby, and don't forget about Alejandro Peña. You could not hit that guy in 1988. As an A's fan, I didn't like the 2nd half of your video. lol But you recovered quickly with Aaron's HR. :o)
Thanks Drew, anytime your team wins a championship you need to cherish it! For some reason the A's were always my second favorite team even when I was living in Southern California. 1988 was a strange year, I was living in Northern California and had a 20 game A's package along with two buddies. Probably went to 30+ A's games that year and rooted for them each time, then they ended up playing the Dodgers in the World Series. The Dodgers and A's played each other in 74 & 88, I was lucky enough to go to games in both series!
Great stories Steve! Great cards to go with them as well! Dodgers, Hank, Gibson, Eck, fun stuff all around Steve! Thanks for sharing man!

Sweet VR's!! Both great channels as is yours! I dug The Bulldog! And Strawberry had/ has The Sweetest swing ever... thanks for awesome story!
Thanks Billy, appreciate it!

Thanks Andy, still smiling about the Dodgers! That Aaron HR is so vivid in my memory even 50 years later!
Awesome choices for Brian’s VR! I really enjoyed watching all three of them as well. Awesome home run memory as well my friend! Reggie was the man!
Thanks Jason! Yeah Reggie was the man, the game he hit 3 HRs against my Dodgers was also on my list!

Darryl was such a fun player to watch for sure - great VRs - congrats on those Dodgers!
@@mookiechillson Thanks Mookie, appreciate it my friend!
Nice VRs. Hershiser had an amazing few years. I was able to get Strawberry's auto back in 1989. Your story of Aaron's home run was fun to hear.
Thank you, really appreciate it!
