I'll never forget the experience of watching it in IMAX for the first time. Thanks Nolan for making this masterpiece. Thanks Ludwig for your amazing score.
Strauss was right about Oppenheimer's ambition and hubris. Oppenheimer would have chased down nuclear fission for anything. But he was projecting with that line so hard
I literally don't understand how actors can perfect accents like Murphy for example does. Perfect old English accent and now perfect American accent and he's actually Irish. That's just insane imo.
maybe so. but Oppenheimer happened to have that effect on me and that was a personal thing for me... it may not be for others and that's cool.@@tomascech6772
It was a funny experience seeing this in IMAX... Can't remember the last time a packed theater shuffled out as quietly as this when it was over. Not a word. Sobering.
Watching this movie in 70mm was probably the best cinematic experience I've ever had. I cannot wait to experience it in IMAX as well. Thanks for bringing it back to the theatres!
This movie may not be everyone’s cup of tea, like looking at it on paper it’s a very long movie, a historical biography and character study with a lot of dialogue between a lot of characters. But no one can deny that this is art, you can say you didn’t enjoy it but it’s impossible to say it’s a bad movie. Like it is a masterpiece and one of those movies that only come around once every few years
The Oscars have long been afraid to reward popular films with the best awards but hopefully Oppenheimer is good enough that they can’t refuse. Christopher Nolan deserves those trophies.
The main issue is the dominance of superhero movies and franchises/sequels among the popular films over the last decade, hence the lean towards arthouse movies for Best Picture during that time period. This was a rare case where a non-superhero/non-franchise movie actually did well at the box office (on top of being massively acclaimed among critics). EVERYTHING EVERYWHERE ALL AT ONCE was massively popular too (and a box office hit as well thanks to it's insanely low budget) and it won last year. The key is about hitting the perfect sweet spot of making a movie that is non-franchise/non-sequel that resonates with critics, audiences, and Oscar voters alike. Also, it helps that OPPENHEIMER is a technical and acting showcase (almost all Best Picture winners have acting and screenplay nominations), as was EEAAO last year.
This guy has been a good actor for years. I saw him in The Red Eye for the first time and in some other flicks. He plays a great villain and spoiled snob. This was of course, different.I. wish this unconventionally good-looking actor all the best.
This is the best trailer for Oppenheimer yet. We get to see brief shots of the scenes/acting that makes this movie the masterpiece that it is. Like shots of Robert Downy Jr. and Cillian Murphy in their best moments, and scenes like the auditorium and can you hear the music.
Damon was a great actor playing a great character, someone who was clever and making a real contribution rather than an idiot who was there just for the purpose of exposition in the film.
Super amazing and truly one of a kind to have a film of this topic constantly rewatch-able. The talent you have to have to accomplish this is astounding
@@sounabhaganguly9308 We all have different perspectives, if you wish for Bradley Cooper to win, why did you come to an Oppenheimer video just to comment?

i was privileged enough to watch this twice at Langley 70mm IMAX. Nolan and the team, please continue what you do, you bring the best out of the best talent.
All the focusing on the spectacle in the original trailers got people in the door. But frankly seeing it in a premium large format, a normal cinema, and again at home in HDR, it was amazing imagery, but that wasn't the spectacle of the film. It was in the editing and acting especially. Just a phenomenal film
Just re watched this movie again for the 4th time it still feels fresh and exciting. i feel like watching it a 5th such a masterpiece. Thanks Christopher nolan you are a genius 😊
To achieve greatness, sacrifice is essential without exception, Oppenheimer sacrificed everything to achieve what he achieved, that is essential in life, in all things.
This is such a great experience, it’s such an experience i don’t think i’ll forget, even now i can still hear the song in my head when i learn about nuclear reaction lol😂
The minutes before the bomb and the ticking of the CLock in the Background. I was so tense and clung to my seat until the detonation. I never felt that tense in a movie
Privilege to have seen the film in IMAX when it launched, love the music, the story but by favourite scene is 'Groves', awesome dialogue and music (specially slowed with reverb)
Everytime you watch this movie it gets bigger than previous time. The intense emotion is everything. This movie will remain the greatest written and made of this decade ❤
"When you see something that is technically sweet, you go ahead and do it and you argue about what to do about it only after you have had your technical success." Robert Oppenheimer

It was late chilly night. It was only me and my friends, waiting for the final bus in a small bus stop at the edge of town because the film tickets were more affordable there. While we wait, we discussed how we're basically living in a post credit scene of Oppenheimer. How the bomb changes great power politics forever. I never felt that feeling before. It was different from watching a documentary, even though both depicts real life. A sense of uneasiness, that someplace, someone only need a press of a button to delete thousands.
NOLAN always makes my mind go beyond where it can go......................THAT'S NOLAN'S MAGIC...........he literally drives me CRAZY.. you have no clue as to what i'm saying. ... i promise you. can you hear the music????????

The directing was so well done that even before we saw Robert Downey Jr's flawless acting, i saw Lewis Strauss not Tony Stark.
The track (Can you hear the music) is one of the most exhilarating pieces of music I'll ever hear in my life.
It's an amazing piece of music I had never heard before. Hearing the tempo change from slow to fast and go back again. It's unbelievable!
