You may want to throw in the common nystagmus that some cats who share this common siamese trait..asian cats and their mixes can sometimes have this. (Shifty eyes) I have a 4 month Snowshoe mix that my vet saw mild eye movement, but he acts.normal. Just a heads up, to have it checked with your vet if your Snow has this, and not anything neurological or ear related. Great video.😊
Our Snowshoe is so chill, doesn't seem to fear anything. Got to be involved in everything. Very uncatlike.

I found a kitten 13 years ago in the middle of winter freezing in my garage and turned out to be a snowshoe! Best cat iv ever had...though does not like other animals. Loves being vocal...all the time
I found two cats (mama cat and one of her babies) in the cold inside of a mesh sort of pet carrier on the side of the freaking road! It was sort of by a gas station, but still.. Absolutely despicable. I'm glad you gave your cat a good life :) This is my first *real* pet cat as I have always been a dog person and I am doing my best for her. The mama cat decided she wanted to part ways very early and abandon her kitten, unfortunately.
It's sad that the mom cat left. Hopefully, she'll return. I bet the little one is awesome. I have 3 females ( always had male cats before). They happened up at different times, but all get along mostly. Love every cat I've ever had. Saw a snowshoe at the cat rescue I volunteer at.
a momma cat left her kitten in my back yard, a week or two old. now she's a month and a half, very happy and healthy, we found out she's a snowshoe! very energetic and loving, also very smart. beautiful combination of traits and beautiful coat, I love her so much

Just lost my 2nd Snowshoe yesterday. My little Beau Blue. Before him, I had my Ezra for 13 years. Beau was only 11. He just begun losing weight and we couldn't turn it around. The best cats ever❤

My 'shoe is the same way. She's 19 now and I worry all the time bc I love her so much
I have had my snowshoe, Ragnar, for eight years. I got him from my brother, who had gotten him when he [the cat] was four months old. My brother had to rehome him because he found the dogs and kids too much (my brother's other snowshoe had no problem with the dogs and kids). Ragnar is super chill for the most part. I'm disable and therefore home a lot. Ragnar seems to like our routine and has wormed his fuzzy way into my heart. I never thought I'd love a cat as much I love him. He helps me handle my PTSD better, helps with my anxiety, is a great ice breaker when I get a new aide [he has a fan club of former aides that had to move on for various reasons], and is a great mouser to boot. He was nervous about my wheelchair at first, but now he gets very upset if he doesn't get his chair ride for the day. He is chatty, but rarely strident in tone.
Found my snowshoe out walking the streets. Even missing an ear 😭 I brought him in. 🖤 he’s longhair, though

I Found my kitty in December of 2021 and she’s quite a lovely little thing. Id absolutely recommend a snowshoe if you ever want a cat!
I had one approach my store near a busy highway. After seeing many beautiful cats in the area get run over, I had to try and see if I can find the owner. I went outside and spoke to her. She must have been under a year old. So went to find her home. She followed me around like a dog. I took her to other stores and people. Nobody wanted her. I made her a store cat. Someone must have owned her because certain words would get her attention. And opening cans and plastic bags. She was a little feral by attacking my hand by biting and scratching. After many bloody wounds she now licks my hand instead of biting.
Some ladies came by and gave me a bed, blanket and toys for her. When she wants something she just coos. Rarely meows. Anytime she wants me for anything with a coo I make a point to attend to her needs. I would rather she coo than meow. After showing attention to her needs I find that she is more sensitive and attentive towards me. I have a lot to share about her. Maybe another time. Best cat I ever had. Actually the first and only cat I have had. Cats take things personal. Not like dogs who forgive you. They remember and will get even. So I never spanked her. Just held her so she couldn’t move when she misbehaves. Like dogs she is full of energy for the first year. Now she is a pussy cat.
I have to hold her when customers come in so she can get attention. She almost acts like a Ragdoll cat by flopping down when someone she likes approaches. I could go on. I believe this is the best cat ever. You have to raise them like children from a kitten. Be mindful and attentive to their needs and when they get older they will return the same behavior.
@@Ralpha1961 awwww she sounds like she was an absolute pleasure to have. yea my kitty isn’t super vocal either; she does meow of course but she sounds like a little pigeon most of the time lol. she bit the septum area of my nose the night of me finding her and then she made biscuits and slept on my chest and she’s cuddled with me every night since then. She was real sweet when my dad died and was basically my unofficial emotional support animal. she still has energy, however she’s definitely younger than 3 years old. She also loves when I play rock music and she seems to love listening to me playing my violin and she seems to be really happy when I play the higher strings on either my guitar or my violin. Also when she’s hungry, she bites me rather than acting sweet because she’s become so spoiled, she’s basically ruined lol. snowshoes really are just a gift
I adopted some "kitties" but did not know they were old enough to mate.. got a long hair seal point a red point siamese a calico, and a snow shoe! Snow was the strongest she stayed with me, but she is very quiet! and loves her cat friends! Please get Salmon oil! Boosts up immunity, my girl loves seafood! I hope you enjoy your Snow too!

My best friend sent me a picture of a Snowshoe kitten asking if I wanted him. This was June 20th. He has become an amazing edition of the family. Little Yuji is so cool! I didn't even know about Snowshoes and my mother has been grooming Cats and Dogs for nearly 40 years. Plus im an advid cat lover! Either way its been amazing learning about this little dude. Also I can't believe they are so expensive! My friend literally found him on his porch. Seems to be a legit Snowshoe to! His markings are just amazing!
My little rescue is six months old and still so tiny. She’s only 5 pounds yet, and trust me that she eats a good quality food appropriate for her. I am a vet tech, so she has really good access to vets, who tell me she’s just going to be petite. Her personality is “smol.”
I love my snowshoe, very confident and imho their personality is similar to bengals I’ve owned. Great cat over all!
We laugh that, if you look up the word "bad" in the right dictionary, you'll find a photo of our snowshoe there. She's fairly close to the one at 1:21, but with a "dirty" face.
Ours has been in a multiple cat household for some years -- don't ask as to how many! -- and has always been vying to be #1, thwarted by a few others that simply didn't put up with her. Once in awhile, the challenges have resulted in veterinary bills. When the last serious obstacle passed on, she finally took the top position, but as anybody in a multiple cat household knows, it's ongoing: The other two generally challenge her, with the result that each of us can be covered by three cats, each wanting attention and each wanting to stick it to the others. She's definitely as smart as they describe, and she'll often exemplify the word "catty" by occupying a place in the household where one of the other two hangs out normally. We've never seen her become destructive because of separation anxiety, likely because she has the others to keep her company.
Kitty hasn't seen any of the health issues the video describes, although she's now a senior cat and has some issues discerning light from dark. Our veterinarian says she still sees just fine otherwise, and we haven't seen any evidence of her slowing down. She still climbs and gets on everything, never missing a jump.

I have a Snowshoe cat. She is six years old. She's gorgeous. She is very quiet, though. Her meow sounds like a little squeak toy. Mine does not like kids or other cats.
Ours was 7 mos , took him to be neutered. Didn't know how special he was. Had a massive heart attack. Turned purple and died. Poor baby. They didn't test his blood first. We loved him so much.

We found our baby in the engine compartment of car we were looking to buy. She was approx 4 to 5 weeks old. She will be 2 June 5thish..... She has all the traits described I the video. Her and her dogs sisters get along great and she even antagonizes them, lol. She instigates a lot. Lol. We thought she was just a Siamese mix but, snowshoe fits her perfectly!

I suppose given its heritage based on recessive genes that not all general observations are specific to
any 1 snowshoe cat.
Mine is not chatty and hates water….he will tolerate bathing but not without protesting and escape attempts.
He is very chill/not terribly active and no he is not overweight. I make sure he stays at the weight the vet recommended(10lbs) max deviation maybe 1 pound.
Other than that he seems to possess the rest of the traits prescribed to snowshoes.
