Can't thank you enough.... Kind regards - Roz xxx

    Thank you so much for the explanation. The bouquet is very beautiful! I will definitely make my own now. I know all the bouquets have the ribbon on them now but growing up (back in Germany) I remember, the bouquets were wrapped all the way to the bottom. Likely to avoid the green stems staining the dress. Is that still a thing or outdated?

    • @jemsfloralstudiotheacademy7091
      @jemsfloralstudiotheacademy7091  Год назад +1

      Thank you for your comment 💕
      It’s more popular now to just tie the top. It’s a very traditional way of wrapping to the bottom of the stem. I mean it’s just personal preference, if you feel more comfortable with wrapping all the stems that’s fab. There is not right it wrong way xx

    can you simply do these the night before and leave them in water? what flowers are in season on October? I want my bridesmaids to wear pink so im thinking of pink and white flowers, I love these flowers and all of the foliage, I have a rustic venue and think it would go well, but I'd like to inject some pink in there somehow! would love any recommendations

    • @jemsfloralstudiotheacademy7091
      @jemsfloralstudiotheacademy7091  3 месяца назад +1

      You can yes. If I have a big wedding I start 2 days before and leave them in water and just keep checking on them.
      In October, you can still get a lot of pink flowers like astilbe, roses, spray roses, delphinium, dahlia, hydrangea, hypericum berries.
      White flowers you can also get gyp, delphinium, ranunculus, scabious, Veronica.
      Most foliage are available like thelaspi, eucalyptus, poplus, silver dollar all popular in weddings xx

    How long does the flower last? Can I make it a few days in advanced? Should it be stored in the fridge? Does the water need some sort of food for the flower. 😊

    • @jemsfloralstudiotheacademy7091
      @jemsfloralstudiotheacademy7091  10 месяцев назад +1

      Hiya! I would make them no longer than 2 days before the wedding and keep them cool, you don’t necessarily have you use a fridge, I don’t have one, but it depends where you are in the world. I know the states use fridges as it can get super hot in some places.
      I don’t use flower food, I just make sure the stems are cut at an angle each day with fresh water xx

Can you tell me are these flowers in season at the very beginning of November - if not could you suggest alternatives? Also do you have any tips to keep fresh buttonholes fresh made the day before the wedding? Thanks so much!

      Hi lovely! Yes these are all available at the beginning of November. With the buttonholes, I soak a block of oasis and put them in there until the next morning. If you wire your buttonholes I would put them in the fridge xx

    Hi Jem, just watched your bridal bouquet tutorial, and it was really, really helpful thank you. I am wanting to make my own, and I want a spring woodland bouquet with blue cornflowers, buttercups, daisies, forget-me-not, muscari and some twisted willow. I'm going to have to make it about 30 hours before my wedding. My questions are: is that too long before I get married, and are all those flowers in bloom at the end of May..?? Thank you so much, and I would really appreciate some tips. Roz. x (I'm using my hubbys you tube page)

    • @jemsfloralstudiotheacademy7091
      @jemsfloralstudiotheacademy7091  Год назад

      Hi Roz! Thank you so much!
      Ok, let me give you come advice, some of these flowers you have mentioned are wild flowers not cut flowers. So the flowers you can get are:
      Twisted willow, I get this out my garden lol.
      Blue cornflower is fine also
      Muscari, you will need to get a cut flower version from a florist or wholesaler
      matthiola daisies (cut flower daisies)- these will have to be sourced by a florist or wholesaler
      For buttercups you can’t use these, there are other flowers you can get that will work that you can get from the garden which will be yellow Ranuculus (they are part of the same family) ladies mantle foliage will give the same vibe.
      The reason you won’t be able to use the ones above are because the stem isn’t long enough and they will die within a few hours.
      I recommend not making the bouquet any longer than 24 hours before the day, but just keep an eye on the bouquet and keep it in a cool space and take any foliage or guard petals off. Change the water at least once and cut the stems at an angle when you change the water xx

      @@jemsfloralstudiotheacademy7091 Hi Jem...thank you so, so much for replying so quickly with all that wonderful information you have given me. I will definitely take on board what you have suggested with regards to choosing others alternatives for my bouquet. I may have to have some help with this, but I really, really want to do it myself. I actually don't want it to be perfect, just really rustic, and quite 'meadowy' so I will probably be alright. Thank you so much Jem, that's just great....regards - Roz. xxx

    how long can they last out of water? Like do you deliver them to the bride in water and they stay there until right before ceremony? Also will flowers wilt if being transported in a van for an hour or 2? So many concerns lol

    • @jemsfloralstudiotheacademy7091

      Hey babes! I deliver them in a bag with cellophane in with a bit of water at the bottom. They will get a good drink this way and last the whole day.
      No, they won’t wilt, just make sure you have the air con on if it’s a hot day xxx

    • @jemsfloralstudiotheacademy7091
      @jemsfloralstudiotheacademy7091  3 месяца назад

      If your wrists are aching you can gentle lean the bouquet down on the dye of the table at the binding point so the flowers aren’t being crushed on the table.
      When I first started floristry my wrists and thumbs were in pain when I was making bouquets so this little trick is helpful. In time you will get used to it and the pain will fade xx
