I travelled a lot during my career, I’m now retired and live in France so I have to say a huge thank you for your channel! I’ve just found you and am addicted! I remember feel if the takeoff roar, the raindrops streaking the windows ... glorious! How the planes have changed though ... almost tempted to start flying again! Thank you for your superb journeys 👍
I remember my first flight with the A380 many years ago back when BA had just started running them between London and Johannesburg. I had bought the cheapest ticket I could find to go visit my sister in South Africa and had no idea it would be an a380 so arriving at the gate and seeing this beast of a plane blew the 19 year old me away. I had read a lot about the Airbus a3XX project as a kid back in 90s so this was like a dream coming true. Still the best, most comfortable and luxurious flight I've ever had....
I have never flown in an airplane, and probably never will. Your videos are my escape. You are incredibly lucky to be able to do this. I wish you many happy travels.
I absolutely love your videos! I don't get to fly internationally much (Hell it's been 18 years since my last one!) and watching your videos allows me to partake in that experience vicariously through you. Thank you!
I love the beautiful scenery when flying, especially in this video with the different colours, please capture more in future flights! you do a great job
Paul, you mentioned that you have a regular job and travel in your days off. Are you able to work remotely? I'm amazed at the number of videos you put out.
Enjoyed your trip report. It was very relaxing and peaceful unlike so many travel videos that are so full of loud music it's difficult to focus on what's being shown. I also liked your notes on the views and locations. Well done!
I’m sorry but I have watched a lot of these videos,I love airplanes and food, I have been a chef for over 30yrs, can’t for the life of me understand how shocking the presentation of the food is in this video!! Speechless!!
Regarding the dreaded Flight Connections; If connecting from a BA domestic flight, which tend to use the low number A gates I find it is easier to use the domestic exit out in to the public areas and then make your way up to the First Wing where the security check is very quick and not crowded. You can then make your way through the First Class lounge to the Concorde Room.
PAUL ONCE AGAIN you bring a level of knowledge of the industry and the aircrafts you review that as industry myself makes me enjoy them immensely. I recently viewed your B787-9 LHR/SDJ and like this one, outstanding!
I hope to one day fly in one of these planes. Where we are I have not even seen a 747, not alone A380, except on RUclips. Thanks for letting us fly with you.
17:43 Descending over magnificent Point Reyes. A beautiful and incredible place to visit just north of San Francisco! Walk down the beach and ascend to the hills (watch out for Bobcats - they're watching you, just quietly ignore them) and find a natural cave to sit in, listen to the surf below you and watch the fog come in as you watch the wildlife (mostly Elk) look up at you in curiosity! There is no other place like it on Earth! Especially after you've ingested a few mushrooms!
A very nice trip report showing off first class on the A380 which will be very helpful for my flight in first to San Francisco next year. The only comment I'd like to add is my regular one that while conventional wisdom suggests a K seat for transatlantic flights you need to be in an A seat if going to San Francisco. If your flight is coming in before dark and it follows the normal flight path for British Airways flights it will fly slightly offshore to the west at 11000 feet giving you a wonderful view of the golden gate bridge, Alcatraz and the city itself. The K seat is good for the return as if taking off towards the north the plane will curve round after take-off and if you are lucky you will get a similar view in reverse but at a lower altitude.Again thanks for sharingTerence
Thank you Paul for a great video! I am travelling with BA on an A380 LAX - LHR - LAX in First Class shortly. It'll be my first time on an A380 so I'm really looking forward to it. Your video gave me a great insight as to what to expect. Thank you again!
I'm a new subscriber, I love Paul's reports. I might just suggest more flight info such as FL No, departure time, date, landing time, more detailed aircraft type, route maps and stuff! Just a suggestion!
I love the feeling of being in the airport and on the plane! It’s so nerve racking! And also you think of later that day/night when you are tucked up in bed in a villa or a hotel 😋😌
12:39 - One of my favorite things to do when flying (right now I can only do Economy) is having extra pens for pax who didn't think to bring one for filling out the customs form.
I am not saying make it same like middle eastern airlines. what I am saying is the "wow" factor. The food was not that appeasing. Presentation of the food is important. Yes every airline has its own characteristic but you have to amaze the client in very aspect.
Truth Seeker I fly first class very often west coast to Europe on British Airways, and have flown on the 380 First lots of times, and the food is beautiful, so until you've tried it you need to. The food is actually one of the signature great things about European carriers like BA Lufthansa and Air France. British Airways first food is very good. Please don't confuse functional, with flash and Ott. Many passengers want a comfortable and relaxing flight, which is exactly what you saw here. First should encompass the lounge at either end, showers, a Cabana, and comfortable onboard cabin with quality food and wine. Knowledgeable and helpful staff that are friendly and well trained is a bonus. Many Middle East Airlines are missing this. Having had a few dodgy experiences on Etihad and Emirates I can't fly with them anymore especially at those prices. I find often, the staff are rude, unhelpful and have no clue what they're talking about when it comes to the food and wine. BA first is a quality product that many in the industry regard as A+. I love flying in this cabin for the reason that Paull enjoyed it, because it's very quiet, peaceful, with very high quality restitution and food. I often then get off the aircraft at the other end and have a shower and rest, with a massage if there's one available ready for my rest in a hotel fresh for my meeting the following day. I often get a discount, meaning that BA first is £2,000 cheaper than any Middle Eastern offering on the same route. I would class Cathay and Singapore, up there as an A+ offering as well. And as for the gressingham duck, and scallops, they are beautiful and often order them every time I fly! (Paul is right, the duck is one of the amazing dishes on any airline)
Marvin Washington It’s very stable during turbulence and the climate is much, much nicer than older aircraft (lower pressure and more moist). Being a Boeing kind of guy, I prefer the Dreamliner which has the same climate benefits, larger windows and the electronic dimming which is simply amazing. You can have bright daylight outside and still sleep facing the window - that’s how efficient it dims.
I want to fly with you one day, I can see you have a deep passion and excitement for flying, just by the amount of details you point out in your videos
Great video and great journey. First Class is just so classy (and expensive). I flew with BA from RJAA-EGLL on a B777 in business class - The service/food/drinks was brilliant but the seat layout was awful! Bur then I'm used to sitting up in the driver's seat!
Paul although I love your very informative videos I have to say your trips , particularly in first and business class are well outside most peoples financial range. As an ex travel industry profressional I am aware of the cost implications to most people and I feel it would be worth while if you are getting upgrades via airmiles you should explain this to your subscribers.
Always travel neatly dressed, with your manners and without an attitude, and the cabin crew may upgrade you. I've been so three times on trans/Atlantic flights, from business into first class. The cabin crew always remember a fuck wit, and also the person whom appreciates them and treats with with respect.
+North Sea Brent I've never seen anyone yet upgraded just for being a nice person... On most airlines a discretionary upgrade tool is used to decide upgrades, because ultimately the upgrade is in itself a tool to extract more revenue from the passenger. They take into account demographic, airline status and purchase history. It's totally fine to dress casually (I was wearing tracky bottoms and t shirt on this flight), though manners are obviously essential whether you travel down the back or up the front...
+Paul's Trip Reports I travel Darwin/Singapore/Heathrow/Aberdeen and back five times a year, I work for shell so they pay for me to travel business class, I've been upgraded on the Heathrow Singapore leg seven times in 10 years, I stand by what I've said.
+North Sea Brent So, by definition, you're a regular customer - probably with airline status - and you work for Shell. The airline knows all of this about you and more. This is why you get upgraded; the airlines use complex algorithms when deciding who to upgrade. It has nothing to do with being a nice chap and dressing well. I get upgrades sometimes to, usually by dint of airline status. I almost always travel in scruffs.
Nice one BA, real praise regarding the Duck meal. Yes you really could have been the only person on the plane, apart from a bit of chatter at take-off, silence.
Good work Paul , throughly enjoy ur luxe travel logs ! Allow me to ask you something. I got to VIP lounges in GRU (Air France) and EZE (also Air France), but as the flights were living in less than 20 minutes, I didn't have time to see them thoroughly. My question: are those foods and drinks for free or you have to pay for them? Thanks Paul!
Great video. I was just curious if that guy coughing his lungs out at the end of the video was ok? 😀 Nice to see You flying over my former province Alberta.
I flew to NY in 1979 on a Jumbo 747 with BA cattle class , but if I had flown First Class during the flight with some other airline say PAN AM I could go upstairs and stretch my legs and have a drink at the bar maybe have a chat with fellow passengers I could move around . It all looks very comfortable and the menu and wine list are superb but it all looks a bit well boring . If i am spending that sort of money I would rather go on the Queen Mary 2 with Cunard from Southampton to New York and have 5 or 6 day First Class cruise their and back
A pahhrrr shahhrr is always nice when traveling. My only complaint with BA first class is this- There is always someone in the window seats who is thick and leaves their shades open so if you are trying to catch a nap on the flight and don't like wearing an eye covering around others it is kind of distracting to have a lit up cabin area. Other than that I have always gotten really nice service on BA first.
This isn't a patch on First Class Emirates a380. I flew British Airways first and thought it was great but then when I flew First Class on the a380 with Emirates I was blown away. So much more in the way of luxury and wow factor. Whilst BA is minimalistic and understated, Emirates is luxurious and over the top luxury
BA first, is like Emirates business class...and when I'm paying over £7,000 return for 2, I expect my own suite like on Emirates, now I'm an old dude, as I've never had such before...
I so remember my first flight on a British Airways 1st Class from SF to Heathrow! It was extraordinary, and the Flight Attendants, all beautiful Ladies, were so wonderful!
Cool to see how they do first on the a380. Just flew BA First from LHR to JFK on the 744, it was similar and excellent (especially the service). I just wish you narrated your videos rather than using captions.
Paul I was curious, do you get to keep those amenity kits when you go on first class flights? I've always wondered about that because I've never been on a first class flight before and I seen other videos about this but they never said if they get to keep them.
Great video! I hope to fly BA to the UK one day :) Quick question, are the cabanas in the Concorde Room sound proof? It sounds awfully quiet for it to not be.
EASILY one of the best videos of its type on RUclips !!
United Computers Wow, thank you! 😃
United Computers you should check out NeverNotFlying

Key sjhould they get away with dub standard service?
This was an outstanding video!

I agree. So many travel videos have annoying techno music. This was a awesome 👏!

That was nice of them.
what did you do?
I hope to one day fly in one of these planes. Where we are I have not even seen a 747, not alone A380, except on RUclips. Thanks for letting us fly with you.
I hope you manage it one day, my first flight ever was on a 747 Prestwick Scotland to Boston USA Northwest Orient 1979.great flight.. 👌

A classic Port Out-Starboard Home
Still I prefer the opposite as I live to see the sunburst on the return leg
Wow, it looks so comfy and I LOVE the fact you can call anywhere in the world from that phone... so cool.
I just can’t get over how much food you had during one flight, not to mention in the Lounge thingy! I can’t even eat that much in 24 hours
100,000 views! Thank you. Humbled. 🙏🏻
Well deserved loved this video.
Do you always take the amenity kit and/or leave the PJ's? What do they expect you too do??
I like this first class. How much is the first class ticket from London to San Francisco?

The food will be appeasing with a signature "F" word infused into it when Chef ramsey steps onto that plane

Nice trip, l will like to go first class some day. Thanks
I've been there. It truly made Heathrow a much less stressful place.
We're flying first on BA 787-9 in Sept. So excited :)
fuck you
Michael Marsden fuck you
Your cabana at the beginning advertised "Hogfather"! One of my favorite Discworld books. :D
When I used the Concorde lounge (2017) there was a wait list for private cabanas and a 45 minute limit.

A really enjoyable watch with excellent cinematography. I will be making the same journey tomorrow. So, thank you for the heads up.
Very well-produced and enjoyable. Restful, pleasant music accompaniment, and insightful presentation.

+Nick Angel Thanks Nick. 👍🏻
THE FOOD !!!!!!!!!!
Not sure I'd know to eat some of it
Isn’t it amazing it’s possible to travel like that at 40,000 feet nowadays? It’s mind boggling how a passenger jet like that flies!
Very nice video. Good job!
+Lord Lucan Thanks!
I like it when I can read the choices on the menu, and then see when and what is served to you.
Nice one BA, real praise regarding the Duck meal. Yes you really could have been the only person on the plane, apart from a bit of chatter at take-off, silence.
Thank you for a very fine review.
A bit bumpy? Try flying in similar conditions, in a BAC-111, into Turnhouse! Lemon Melts are to kill for.
Beautiful video. Would love to take this flight one of these days. Thanks for sharing.
Wow I liked it the cabana nice touch 😍
+Jackie Orellana Thanks!
So lucky you get to fly these! I could NO WAY afford these!
+Toomas Pasanen I am very lucky. But I hope you like the video! :-)
Paul's Trip Reports Very nice and detailed report, earned a sub!
how much was the ticket
I have flown it twice and am again in october of this year, saving up points on a credit card makes the tickets be a lot cheaper. ;) Life is possible.
not bragging either, just stating that if you want something in life, you can get it. :)
Really enjoyed this video, and the food looked very good and tasty
What a fantastic experience
Great video mate, keep them up!
Thanks Luke!!
LOL, now this is depressing! I now know what I missed while crammed into economy on a recent Doha-Dallas flight! Very enjoyable vid!
+blowinbubbles Glad you enjoyed the video! 😃
Paul
Great video and very professional.
Love the professionalism of presentation!
Good work Paul , throughly enjoy ur luxe travel logs !
I did get to fly on BA Concorde - 4 diff times - and of course had access to the Concorde lounge at term 4 , a few times: was marvelous - yet not the suites that you show at Concorde room
That’s total diff space - we had reception - comp facial or back therapy’s by Molton Brown.
Direct across to Concorde via glass doors on side of lounge and down a elevator. Very direct , discreet etc
Lounge was more canapés and numerous bottles of diff Champagnes and wines opposed to a full meal service - some cont euro fare - cold features etc
After 2 or 3 glasses of rose Veuve C we seamed to be hustled upon Concorde and it’s ultralight fast service to the states - and was swift - doors closed
1 st to take off & another few glasses of Krug and caviar service / Lobster fish cakes and desert , cheese , coffee & Concorde gift ( nice sterling tie clip )
We were sent packing after 3.25 flight - Ended well to soon :/
Memories “ so sweet !!!
one thing's for sure... the next time I get a chance to have a drink on a flight... it's gonna be a Kir Royale.... Never had one but I want one now after this.
Very professional job, Paul! If only the window you had was larger.
Must be nice. Sigh. Lovely video, thanks!
Amazing video, but next time go on the 2nd floor?, I would like to see what that is like

+Mario Imori Hi Mario. I've never been in an airline lounge where you had to pay for food. It's all free!
Great video. I was just curious if that guy coughing his lungs out at the end of the video was ok? 😀 Nice to see You flying over my former province Alberta.
The scallops looked delicious!
I flew to NY in 1979 on a Jumbo 747 with BA cattle class , but if I had flown First Class during the flight with some other airline say PAN AM I could go upstairs and stretch my legs and have a drink at the bar maybe have a chat with fellow passengers I could move around . Another great trip report!!
+SierraRomeoTango Thanks!
Dans l'ensemble c'est quand même pas mal 🥇🥇🥇🥇
Great video....I am hooked on your vids.......Thanks
Good job. Love seeing the food and menus.
Best Trip Reports!! Keep up the good work!
Thank you George!
Lol flight attendant said good afternoon at the end
This isn't a patch on First Class Emirates a380. I flew British Airways first and thought it was great but then when I flew First Class on the a380 with Emirates I was blown away. Another one of your excellent videos!
Thanks Thomas!
I love this! Thank you
I so remember my first flight on a British Airways 1st Class from SF to Heathrow!
What a lounge.
That was a long time taking off, I thought it going to drive to SFO.
Take off very fun
Love the music at the end
Paul I was curious, do you get to keep those amenity kits when you go on first class flights? I've always wondered about that because I've never been on a first class flight before and I seen other videos about this but they never said if they get to keep them.
David You keep them.
I've nicked them as I've walked through 1st from Cattle to get off, on some flights.
great work and very much appreciated!
Wonderful flight!
Just gorgeous. A perfect peaceful flight with beautiful skies outside.
30,000 feet wines? Now I've heard the King of Spin.
America is so beautiful
+robertk2007 It's a big place!
Paul's Trip Reports ??
robert, I think he means that size wise the United States is rather large
Great video. Thank you. Do you know why BA never seem to give priority disembarkation to first class passengers?
Paul great video! Keep it up!
Food looks good! Love the A380.
Loved the definitive trip report! Ever fly American Airlines or Delta?
I do fly AA quite a bit - if you check out my channel I've got quite a few AA videos.
Another great video. Thanks for sharing. If I may ask, what camera do you use ?
+David Rorke Thanks David. It's just an iPhone 6 Plus!
Great video! I hope to fly BA to the UK one day :)
Quick question, are the cabanas in the Concorde Room sound proof? It sounds awfully quiet for it to not be.
+Alex Laronde I think they're properly sound proofed yes.
Great review. I'm doing this next August. 👍
Excellent video!
