      I thought it was little rocks or shells 🐚 in the ground when I first saw it in the picture. The contrasting color is more pretty to me. They are both lovely though. I was always brought up to just make things and gauge my tension as I went because a person couldn’t afford to waste yarn or thread having samples. Plus the samples just sat there doing nothing but gathering dust and getting in the way. When my relatives were given swatches or samples they would undo them and crochet them together into something that they could use. This is what I was taught. I enjoy seeing your samples though.

    Oh my goodness, this is gorgeous. I can see why you wanted to keep this. I have had this pompadoodle yarn for a long time and nobody i have searched was able to put this to use especially for crochet. I am sooooooo EXCITED. Yup, next on my hook but with probably a weight 4 yarn. Thank you once again.

    Thank you for a great tutorial. It was so easy to follow. I had to do three dc between each pom pom as there was not enough room for 5. It was my first time doing the crab stitch and l thought it was the perfect finishing edge. A fun project during isolation.😊

      Rosemary Moumar I have the same problem with the 5 dc between pompoms. Did it work out okay for you doing 3 dc between pompoms and did you have to change anything else in the pattern to accommodate the 3 dc.?

      Ann Marie Murphy The blanket worked out fine with 3dc between pom-poms. Great result and fun to make. I did not change anything else on the pattern. You can see a picture of my blanket on Instagram rosemarymoumar

    I have so many of the balls of pompom yarn. I bought them at op shops and have tried to use them in all sorts of projects. The only one that was successful was a scarf come cowl. I crocheted a single crochet between each second pompom. It loved it. BUT YOU HAVE CRACKED IT. thank you for this great vid. I can now use up the rest of the balls I have and my granddaughters are going to love their new blankets.

    THank you very much! I have theese pompom yarns in black and white and I could never figure out what to do with them. Knitted a cowl with it but it was too loose... tried a finger-knitting method that they do with looped yarns, dosen't really worked out... now that! That is perfect!

    This is so easy and looks like so much fun. The trimming off of the Pom-poms makes me nervous..lol. It seems like it makes you a bit nervous too. Thanks for this wonderful, beautiful, fun pattern. I’m going to have a lot of fun with this one. It will be beautiful on a scarf as well as the blanket.

    Robin!!! I just had my oldest grandchild, today, ask me for a rainbow blanket. He is 3! So I was looking for some ideas and I thought about your Pom Pom blanket! It will be perfect with the self striping rainbow yarn I have gotten! I am so excited!! Now I have to find the right Pom Pom yarn. Of course I have to find it online because everything is closed here in the states but I don’t mind! I smell a new project coming on! There is no better smell!! 😂🤪 thanks for the amazing pattern!! I’m so excited. Oh and they look like bunny tails to me but as I look at the whole blanket they kind of remind me of colorful pebbles in a stepping stone paver. In a beautifully landscaped way!

    Wow it's amazing.. I have 5 large balls of this pom pom yarn..I bought 3 years ago :)
    I only have dk and aran yarn to do with it

      You could hold a strand of dk with a strand of aran together at the same time? Or alternatively, you could have an experiment with different stitch counts to make it work for a different weight yarn :-) x
