    Out of all these mentioned, I feel like the The Thing deserves the Director’s Cut. That CGI is horrid and I’ve also read on these separate alien species that I think would be amazing to see and get SOME answers without definitively figuring out The Thing’s origins and etc.

      The sad thing is, "The Pilot Cut" does exist. It was pretty much complete when they screened it for the executives. They wouldn't have to do much to complete it but I think the studio would rather just bury it.

    Anyone remember that supposed directors cut of Age of Ultron that we were supposed to get? It was apparently over 3 hours long and showed more of Ultron's evolution throughout the film which we saw a glimpse of in the first trailer with his molten hand, as well as more of Quicksilver and Scarlett Witch's back stories.

    I'd love to see a director's cut of Rogue One. In the trailers Jyn said the line "this is a rebellion isn't it? I rebel" showing that she was an extremist like Saw that the alliance was trying to reign in. But in the movie her character seemed to do a complete 180 staring that "it's not a problem if you don't look up" and the alliance had to drag her into the fight. Just on that alone it seems like Rogue One could have been a massively different film.

    I met a girl who worked on the production of Rogue One, and she confirmed to me that there is definitely a Gareth Edwards cut and she has seen it. I don't know why it seems like no one cares about this or is clamoring for a director's cut because the released movie was nearly completely different than the trailer.

    • @chris1275cc
      @chris1275cc 4 года назад

      When Gareth Edwards was asked about it he said that a lot of the stuff in the trailer was shot for the trailer and was never in any version of the movie, which kind of diffused the situation. It's also widely accepted that Disney "saved the movie" and Edwards has never disputed it (or confirmed it). I suppose the House of Mouse could have slapped a gagging order on him, but I think there would have been more rumours circulating from other crew members if there was a either a better or vastly different cut out there. The evidence seems to point to the fact that the cut we got was the better version and Edwards knows it. But hey Disney is basically Umbrella Corp. so who knows, if any studio has the power to silence people it's them.

    A directors cut I'd like to see is the original cut of The Land before Time. The orignals director cut of the movie runs 10 minutes longer and is full of shots and scenes that steven spielberg and george lucas deemed to be too scary distressing for kids. The film as we see it today is really short and filled with jarring continuity errors as a result of lucas and spielbergs cuts, so it would be cool to see it in its original form.

    I’d probably think of an extended version of The Lovely Bones. Since it’s not a good movie but I’ve heard of scenes that were only shown to a test audience several months before it was released. A lot of those scenes never appeared in the movie. One in particular is the original ending of the killer falling off the cliff but the audience wanted him dying more violently so Peter Jackson had to completely redo it just weeks before it had came out. Imagine what the full version would’ve been like?

As for Gigli, it's not a film I've ever bothered with. Even as a fan of Martin's other works (MARV, LOOK OUT!!) it's just not one that has ever appealed to me. Probably because I never heard of the film at the time and then when I did hear about it, there was not one positive review.
