There used to be a guy on youtube who built these out of old fire extinguishers. I believe he went more in depth about the internals. The one I'm using is hollow (for now).
Yes, it actually works...not like the original swamp coolers of course, it's based more on forced air. But yes, there is a lot of air pushed through this. :)
@@marcofloresmfcs1 They're out there and can be pretty expensive to find a working one....but they do still exist...there is a person that makes working, reproductions of the originals. If I come across his name, I'll pass it on..
I used a piece of all thread (can't remember the exact diameter), a piece of 1/2" aluminum tubing, washers and nuts for the support. That's attached to a piece of bent aluminum that came from a aluminum yard stick. Drilled a hole and installed a suction cup. If that doesn't answer your question just let me know and I'll give you as much detail as I can...

How about when rainy day sir? Did the water entering the car? Or you remove the cooler?
It would have to be raining very hard and you'd have to be going very fast for any rain to get into it...no issues with water... :)
I would like to purchase one, how do I go about getting one, please advise.
They guy who was selling the "blanks" had a store on Etsy.
Aloha bradda..how did it perform? Similar to AC?
Actually does pretty good. I was surprised at how well it works.
the original ones where all metal and had a turbine?
Yes..the originals were much different. These are mainly for somebody who wants the look with minimal functionality and a much lower cost...
@@kentuckyhotwheels I need a functioning one. I actually need like 4 or 5 of them .
