I was really hoping to see the drilling out of the spot welds..I have this exact same cooler and am about to restore it.. mine has many dents in it too, which is why I’m taking it apart.. I was going to use a spot weld cutter, because I’d like to weld it back together instead of rivets. I’ll have to check out your website for a new filler cap, because mine has almost deteriorated away
I omitted it because it wasn't pretty I used a chisel to pop the spot welds, some tore a small hole in the tank which is pretty hard to avoid. But I wasn't too concerned because the tank was already compromised at the seam. so I JB welded to small holes that were created then with the flex seal inside its sealed, Then to reattach it I used silicon adhesive. As for the caps, I have one but its really just a replacement fuel filler cap that fits.
@@ecophage Thanks for the reply and honesty! That was my first thought to try and find a generic chrome cap at the auto parts store.. I’m glad you made the video, I was surprised to see a vid with the same cooler I have!
Ugh, I JUST sold my last one, a complete original Ive been sitting on for a year. The buttet coolers arent cheap though, $800+ Ive got lots of other coolers available from about $200-$750
@@albertchavarin6538 we have a full kit available on our website. It includes a pump, filter and hoses. Alternatively I believe the pump was a fiat washer fluid pump not cheap about $50
Yes and yes. I’ve got a completely original bullet cooler exactly like this in amazing condition. The only part not original is the fill cap. I’ll sell it all original or I can put in a fresh filter and water pump for a little extra. Contact me through the website for more info: www.vintageswampcoolers.com
@ecophage your name is Chris correct? Do you have a business number we can talk over the phone I need your help and will pay u I can tell u have passion I would be honored if u could help the cooler issue on my mother's car etc looking forward to hearing from you
I need ur help i built a lincoln in remembrance of my mother when she went to heaven my brother in law came in a greedy spirit and stole things including her original cooler i wanted from the bottom of my heart and would be honored if u could help me in id of the one etc do you have any of these types u think?
I’m so sorry to hear that. You’re not going to believe this but I have probably the most perfect example of one of these that I happened upon pretty magically. I was lucky enough to not only find local to me a completely original bullet cooler exactly like in this video but made it there before anyone else. It was this gentleman’s father’s and had been on his model t but was sitting on a shelf for the last 40 years. I’ve been saving it for quite a while not posting on my website waiting for someone to come looking. (The way I look at it I’d rather save the best coolers for those willing to reach out to me then sell them to people browsing the internet and not have some on hand when people come looking) The bullet cooler I have is all original except the cap which is a replacement. The filter and pump will need replacement but I can do that for you before shipping it. If you email me through the website I can provide further details Www.vintageswampcoolers.com There should be a contact button up top I think. Message me back on here if you have any issues
