Thank you, Shiva! I just became aware of this updated 2.0 version of the fullshade system last week and installed this one myself on Thursday. I had some problems getting the front clips in the front headliner, but eventually prevailed. Worth noting, the price from Otrifowd (not sure if your discount affects this or not) is down to $249 from $499 and the side panels are thinner, taking up less glass space than the original version. i also didn't feel the need to remove both screws on the pivoting tabs. I simply removed the outermost screws, pivoted the tabs and reinserted the removed screw in its new position. Agree that the gloves are not great for working the screwdriver! LOL. I am really happy with this product and can see why you're leaving it in place in your own vehicle. Cheers.
nice product, but i would appreciate better/nicer ending at the back part.... are those steel brackets touching the glass...? also those product just show how many basic things are missing in tesla vehicles.... kudos to the aftermarket companies for working this around with limited options to make it work.... 👍
Maybe if I leave you a comment I can get some fix. I have these for my model 3. The front one is solid no real issues except if I hit bumps it can make some noise. The rear shade is a problem child. The clip you install at 12:04 comes loose and 1/2 the shade drops down while your driving. They need a more secure clip or a better way to attach the rear.
Really nice video. I'm really not a big fan of all the glass in my M3, which causes the acoustics inside the car to be pretty bad, since all the extra glass reflects all sounds and noises, since it will bounce back and forth inside the car when hitting the class. Does this sunshade have a positive affect on the acoustics inside the car, since these surfaces shouldn't reflect sound as much as glass does? So basically my question is, can you hear any differences on the acoustics inside the car after installing the sunshades?
It doesn't reduce noise or cool your car down although it looks cooler. Save money for ceramic tint would be a better solution. Tint does not reduce helps your car absorb heat slower so that your AC won't run more often.
Great video of the installation process. Looks like a great product. It might be a little expensive for me, comparing the other "SunBlockers" out there. BUT..this one is more convent then some of the others. As for keeping Temps down, I don't see these Shades having a reflective shield on the outside. Or did I miss that?😀😀😀😀😀
Hi. I install this last month. It is nice to have to stay cool. My concern is the side airbags. In the rear, the panel falls and there is an air canister.
Awesome video and review. I just ordered my Tesla Model 3 RWD 2023 | All Back Interior | Blue Paint | 18-inch Wheels, and I used your referral link, just so you know. You do good, no great informative work, so I wanted to show my appreciation!
One problem with most non OEMs solutions is that the glass gets extra heat. Ideally the sun should be reflected back out like with a mirror. Heat effects the rubber seals and glues used by the OEMs. In most western climates this is theoretical.
WD40 is very good at removing adhesives. Spray it on cloth and soak/dab then rub. If there is nothing to get damaged around the target area then direct spray.
I have now had these shades installed for a month and ran into a few issues that I thought would be helpful for past/future buyers. 1. For the back shade, the hooks on the side are leveraged in such a way where it creates an inward sag (backmost part of the shade). After a month, the cloth frame began to detach from the rail. To fix this, I put stronger adhesive bw the track and frame and clamped them together to get a stronger bond. So far, after a week, the problem is still solved. 2. There are only two clips on the front of the front sunshade and they are put to the outmost position (left and right). Mine has a sag towards the middle and that is because there is no support in the center. I wish it came with three clips to add some stability. Anyone else had this same issue and have a solution?
Not a fan personally of how much glass you lose to the massive frame. Definitely prefer just installing the basic ones for the hottest month or two of the year here in Australia. I’m amazed most places even need sunshades?
I felt the same way, but here's the rub... This 2.0 version reclaims more of the glass space that was lost in the original version. Also, once installed, it is as easy or perhaps even easier to remove and replace as the fixed shades you are using now. But you won't want to, since you can just flick back the shade whenever you want to admire the clouds. I found that with the basic shades, they were such a PIA to try and fold back up and store, that I never removed them at all, blocking my view through the roof glass permanently.
btw better thing to do would be measure the temp on the seats.... with screen closed, keed the car to heat in the morning sun, measure the seat temp, open the roof, wait one hour and measure the temp again.... 🙂
Edit: the FullShade 2.0 is the same price for the Y or the 3. Still looking forward to seeing Shiva’s review on the MY version! Original comment: Model Y version is so much more expensive 😭. Hopefully they send you one of those for review and installation guide 😉! Thank you as always for the great Tesla product reviews and guides!
@@ShivaSapkota can’t wait to see the video! I have a cheap $50 or so top glass cover for my MY (has a black mesh shade with a silver reflective shade on top) and it works ok. Another video idea would be your internal temperature with the new FullShade opened compared to the temperature with them closed.
@@HypocritesExposd The hard thing with internal cabin temp test is the fact that sun goes through the side window glasses and front windshield. I will try to figure something out :) Thank you so much!
@@ShivaSapkota agreed. With my test, I made sure the weather forecast would be the same temperature for two consecutive days. Then I measured the temperature during the same time of day on both days, one with the roof shade on, one with it off. Maybe you can do something similar or come up with something even better 👍
Hi there! Our new version FullShade for Model Y is priced the same as Model 3! Both at $250. But inventory for the Model Y version is not yet available until end of June - July.
I bought this because New Mexico heat is crazy and my M3 can get really hot, this shades definitely do the job however fit and finish is not that great, not that the car’s fit and finish is any better and my front shade rattles but for the price and OEM look they will do for now

it appears they have two shades for Model Y one at 299 and the other at 499. From the pictures both appear same, so what is the difference between those two?
2.0 has a four piece frame that fits together instead of one single piece frame. That makes it much easier and less expensive to ship, hence the price reduction.
I have fully ceramic kava tint on my Model Y and nothing on the 3. Tinting does help a little bit but still super hot. Tonya, there are laws for the window tinting (front and windshield) but nothing on the roof tints. Thanks.
Hi Carlos, you put the coupon code on the final checkout page where you put your address, there is a little link on the top that ask for promotion code. Thanks.
I have the Fullshade 2.0 like yours that was delivered last month and my shade does not have the magnets on the front. it only has a felt-like material where the magnet is located. Weird.
Yeah I hear you, I know several people who tried installing roof racks and damaged the roof. However, these ones are super easy and shouldn't cause any damage. Thanks.
Can anyone that's purchased these comment on how sturdy they are? They appear that if something banged up against them, it would bend them. Is that correct? I need something up there but really don't want to shell out $250 for something my kids will destroy throwing lax sticks in there and all the other crap they have. Thanks!
Once fully tucked in, it takes a little bit of force but what I find is if you leave the metal bracket slightly not tucked in all the way back, it helps. Also, the whole frame moves a little bit when sliding as shown in my video due to the gaps. Thanks.
It's rediculous that having spent $60K on a car you still need to buy a shade for the roof. I'm just gonna paint the inside of the glass roof metalic silver/or some other reflective paint.. Hopefully this will reflect most of the sun rays.
Hi Carlos, this is because the old version is a one-piece solution. The upside is that this looks more seamless, downside of that is that the shipping, handling fees are killing.
LOL it is also because they made the 2.0 in multiple pieces rather than one large single piece. Shipping is almost 50% cost reduction with multi piece unit.
