People who take lead roles in manufacturing environments are usually the laziest, narcissistic postules in the department. "I'm the lead person, I don't have to do any work" is what was told to me at one job I had. The laziest slobs who do "work" in the department, like the "lead person", are left alone because they don't do much work when they finally DO work, so they are left alone and the workers with the brains and proper work ethic get all the work dumped on them in a production environment. My advise to all is: accept and redirect, managers & lead people are your opponents in the workplace. While so-and-so is in the bathroom for 40 min., and the bulk of the work is dumped on YOU because you are a worker and good work ethic & have more than 500 brain cells, TAKE YOUR TIME with it. If the lead postule states "it's taking too long, hurry up, or "move your ass", instead of telling them to get bent, try telling them "this may take a while, I might need help with (so-and-so)". Or better yet, tell the leader "good, your here, you can help me with this project". Then, grab your stomach, and go uuuuhhhhhhh, I think I've just caught the flu, and do what bathroom boy does. In other words, use what they tell you to your advantage. Never insubordinate, just slow down. As long as your moving, no matter how slow it is, there is NOTHING they can do to you other than intimidation to get you to be their "key employee (key slave)". Never show they've pissed you off other than slowing down. The deadlines are NOT your problem, it's THEIR problem! They don't care who does the blunt of the work, as long as it gets done, while goof ball does nothing while you do the majority of the work. This is my last production job, I've had it with the ineffective leadership with these improperly managed corporations, and I'm looking to get into some other type of employment other than working with goof balls that do nothing, who eventually become lead people. Good luck to all with this production work with the way it is with these "robotic" work environments.

The problem is not every company gives team lead that power, you cannot check in code without unit tested. They need the code to production as long as they are "working", without refactor, without unit tests.

39:17 it possible in the UK that in bygone age , British people "don't want to cause a show" meaning not causing waves, upsetting people, don't want to appear to have an attitude.
