Its like they're not even looking at the VIDEO... That has Eddie All In It!!! LOL WTF??? Videos were just as important as the songs, back in the 80s...IMO.
@@gt4589 Videos take away from "Listening" to the song. It's just a Mass Distraction. Just type in song name and add Vinyl after it. Or Live in Japan. ;) MTV does not stand for music. Thanks, ODD TV. ;)
Shoot, when this came out, and I saw this guy with the short hair and the facial hair, I didn't recognize him and thought they had replaced Eddie! I was outraged!
This is the song that was playing when my now husband proposed to me over the intercom at my workplace !!! It was July 18,1995. We have been together for 36 years. We love this song ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
I thought i was hearing things for a second. The one constant in EVERY Van Halen song are the brothers. Ed's sound, look, guitars etc. are unmistakable!
There is no Van Halen without Eddie. How can u miss that iconic Eddie smile in the video? RIP Eddie. This is one of my favorite VH songs of the Hagar era.
Glad to see you delving into the Van Hagar discography! Some of Sammy's other great songs with Van Halen are "Best of Both Worlds", "Amsterdam", "Feels So Good", and "Why Can't This Be Love".
Jay’s quote, “Eddie might not be in this one!” LOL just another pure reaction, we have been on this ride together for so long I forget your still a newbie to a lot of this. You will start to recognize these artists thru their years of music the deeper you dive.
Humans Being and Feelin should be added to your list of Van Halen songs to listen to. Also Eddie is playing guitar. He has a goatee and short hair which might be why you don’t recognize him.
Great reaction & song/video by Van Halen. It’s older Eddie & he looks handsome as always with his twinkling eyes & smile❤. This brought back memories, thank you for this reaction .
This is why I love reaction channels. I haven't heard this song in ages. Such a great song. Cracked me up that you didn't recognize Eddie on guitar. The look is different but there is no mistaking the sound. Much love to you guys, thanks for what you do.
VanHagar is my favorite iteration of the band, Sammy's song writing ability is miles ahead of Roth's party-boy style. "Don't Tell Me What Love Can Do" is a must listen.
Thanks for your reactions! This is one of my favorite Van Halen songs. When Sammy says toward the end of the song, "Hey, Ray, what you said is true", he's referencing a song that Ray Charles sang back in the 60's that was also titled "I Can't Stop Loving You". But a totally different song written by Don Gibson. Great stuff.
Definitely one of their best love songs. And yes, that was Eddie, he went to a crew cut style in the 90s, and it really suited him. Sadly, their album Balance is the last one with Sammy Hagar, as a bad falling out happened, and Sammy either was ousted or left the band. Y'all need to react to When It's Love, from their 1988 release OU812, that is a bonafide love song right there!
Dance the Night Away, Cradle Will Rock and Mean Streets are all great songs with Diamond Dave on lead vocals. I was fortunate to see them on their 1980 World Invasion tour, row 4 on the floor. RIP EVH.
To me, this songs talks of two people that go through struggles but no matter how difficult it can be, they will overcome the odds and continue to love each other, no matter what ♥🤘
One of my favorites from them. You were looking right at Eddie, at this point he was just shorter hair and had the goatee, but don't feel bad because covering the early years and then to this time he had changed his look so much. Glad you two enjoyed this.
Still hoping you check out Eddie's son Wolfgang Van Halen and some of his songs with his group Mammoth WVH. His song "Distance" is a tribute to his Dad and has video and pictures of him with Eddie and his mom (Valerie Bertinelli) through the years. Or check "Don't Back Down" to see Wolfie's musical talent - he plays all the instruments.
The guy with short hair and goatee palying guitar is Eddie. All Van Halen songs has Eddie. THis song was released 1995, a whole 25 yrs before Eddies passing, so of course Eddie is there. THe Van Hagar period is a whole different beast to the Dave Lee Roth years. Check out Panama and Hot For Teacher.
Only two things remained the same in Van Halen from beginning to end, Eddie on guitar, Alex on drums. Michael was on bass until near the end, and they changed lead singers quite a bit, but the Van Halen brothers are always there. You will find some live performances where Sammy plays guitar, but those are mostly songs he recorded as a solo artist before joining VH. Speaking of which, for a fun song, you should check out Sammy's first single after leaving VH, "Mas Tequila." Just make sure you don't get the uncensored version of the video, or you'll have to spend a lot of time editing out all the topless girls from the crowd. And when you mention a guitar solo, I'm going to keep suggesting you check out "Come Again" by Damn Yankees for a great guitar solo by the legendary Ted Nugent. The video has a really interesting camera angle to give you a different view of a solo from what you'll see about anywhere else.
@@dennismoore3383 I had totally forgotten about that one. That'll teach me not to double check my memory before posting. It has been a couple decades, after all. :-)

Yes Eddie is in the video, this song is from the album balance released in 1995, if you want more EV guitar please check out the Don’t Tell me what love can do video ✌️
Sammy just turned 75 and he's still touring with bassist Michael Anthony from VH and Vic Johnson on guitar and Jason Bonham on drums(he is son of late Led Zeppelin drummer John Bonham). Sammy can still belt them out.
I remember before Balance came out, MTV had a midnight premiere for the video for Don't Tell Me What Love Can Do. Back in the day when MTV was still 75% music and 25% TV shows.
Eddie Van Halen is as much a genius at playing a guitar but just as much so at designing the electronics and feel and sound of the guitar and the equipment like amps and effects used in guitar playing. There may never be anyone so connected to a guitar as Eddie. The guitar he plays in this video is one he designed, he named it after his son Wolfgang. For me it's the holey grail and hopefully I'll soon own one. RIP Eddie Van Halen, No one has inspired me more than you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thank you Rob Squad for reviewing this one!!!!!
If you like Van Halen's ballad's another song off the Balance album is called Not Enough. It has a great piano piece Eddie plays. Beautiful song. RIP EVH 🎸🎹
...yep..a "clean cut Eddie" and a "clean cut rocking sound" all contained in THIS song... with a positive message. Eddie's also a "luthier" or guitar designer. So he's playing one of his own 90s (Ernie Ball style?) guitars...in this song. Listen to a cool song called "Runaround" . Yep it's all Eddie. Sammy on vocals. Alex on drums. @Brain Melt Gaming that is objectively false.
Van Hagar is Van Halen after marriage and a couple of kids: more mature and more collected.

Their best ballad is "Love Comes Walking In" which, surprisingly, you still havn't done yet.
