This is actually a really sensitive topic, I really respect you for having the courage to post videos on controversial topics like this, it's not easy as you might receive a lot of hate, people like to follow religion blindly or just hate it blindly, so when you try to speak from a different perspective, it's not easy for everyone to accept it. Good work guys.

It's interesting how religion in general evolved and changed. If your religion makes You a better person, more respectful for everyone and self-awere that you are a part of the human race it's great. If your religion makes excuses for You to humiliate or killing other people, maybe you should to dig deeper, and find your own path.

I get that according to religion God should be a top priority, including over your own loved ones (I'm Rome catholic, I was explained what it means exactly). But if your father meant it in more cultish way instead of just simply prioritizing religious opinions over yours (while still loving you for who you are), then I guess he should at least question his words. Anger and hate are sins, too.
I have no idea what happened between you two, I can imagine anything between "I want to skip church today" to "I am gay and turned into atheism". So I can't really judge the situation, even if I would want to. I just hope that you two... either reunited or living your own lives... will find your own inner peace.

I'm not hardcore or anything, I just follow God and His word. I actually look at other religions with curiosity and admiration, but that doesn't mean I turn away from my own beliefs, I'm just exploring, and it's fun and informative.
Sure I may not agree with everything, but it's nothing to get worked up over. It would be like hating someone just because they like blueberries instead of raspberries.
We are supposed to love thy neighbor, but that has sadly slipped the minds of many people.

As a religious person, I think that it isnt religion thats causing mass hatred, but rather a certain part of the religious community. The religious community is like all communities, it has its toxic part and its healthy part, and its really religious extremism which makes the religious community itself be seen in a bad way and be blamed at a general level when the fault lies with a small group of people without common sense. I really regret that your mother thinks that way just because of your religion, which is something totally respectable your decision, but i dont think the fault comes from the religion itself, rather by certain religious people

As a Catholic, my experience has been that REAL faith is entirely personal. It's something you discover for yourself, and define for yourself, rather that it being the institutional dogma that cherry-picks aspects of religion to serve political purposes. Too often, many self-identifying Christians (especially Evangelicals) lose the forest for the trees, fixating on mankind's narrow and misguided interpretation of the word of God at the expense of the broader teachings about what it takes to live the life of a good person, to the point where their brand of faith is performative, to prove they're virtuous amongst their peers without actually displaying the virtues of Jesus, such as compassion, empathy, charity, etc. Evangelicals today criticize Jesus himself for being too "woke." That's when you know they've lost the plot.
For me, I still consider myself religious despite the fact that I don't follow the dogma of the Catholic Church. Faith in God, and faith in myself, has sustained me through some very dark times. I understand others may not feel the same about religion, and that is perfectly fine. It's not my place to change anyone's mind. As I said, faith, or the lack thereof, is personal. What matters most of all is just being a good person and treating others the way you would want to be treated. It's really that simple.

@@franck3279 as a Catholic I would actually like to further discuss this. I can't exactly tell who you're implying we hate on, so I'm just going to assume it's homosexuality because they are normally the first being pointed to for Catholic hatred.
First things first, anyone who speaks slurs at these people is bad and is not supported by the Catholic faith (they are also children of God). However, there is a difference and a fine line between attacking and not supporting these people and their beliefs. If you are a Catholic family and one of your children comes out as gay, forcing the child out of the home and speaking harshly to them is not appropriate. With that being said, you by no means are expected/encouraged to invite their partner into your home, listen to them, and treat them like a friend if they actively oppose your families beliefs (this should not be controversial because any person would do this if we replaced homosexuality with far leaning conservatives/libeals). To speak from experience, my gay cousin currently does not go to my big family gatherings. The reason she doesn't attend is not because we spewed hatred at her, threw her out, or ignored her whenever she spoke. The reason why is because she knows we don't approve of her change and instantly distanced herself from all of our family. To this day, she is still welcome to our family gatherings, but with the stipulation of not bringing her partner; we will not enable her to continue to oppose what our family's beliefs are firmly against.
Something I feel is massively misinterpreted is the concept of love (what I'm saying beyond this point is in my own words of Catholic concepts instead of being ripped out of the Catholic teachings themselves, so what I say should NOT be taken as Catholic law). Love should be good and kind, but firm for the other person even at the expense of the other person's opinion of you. A child would hate you for not letting them eat only sweets, if you don't truly love them, you would let them get stomach aches and cavities because that's what they want, but true love wouldn't allow them to hurt themselves and not let them even if they hate you for it. If your friend is in an abusive relationship and still doesn't want to leave, false love would let them stay in that relationship because that's what they want, but true love would push you to implore that they should leave since it's only causing harm to them despite the friends wishes. This is what we SHOULD DO for our family and friends that say that they are gay. We talk to them calmly and tell them that they are making a big mistake.............. According to the Catholic faith.
This is not a persuasive argument to not be gay, at the end of the day, I can't stop anyone who doesn't believe in the Catholic faith (as said before, I won't promote or enable it, but will not accept or ignore it either). If someone asks my opinion on this, I give it. If anyone in real life actually wants to debate me on this, I'll try to be as reasonable as possible. But I'm not going to go out of my way to preach to a bunch of people who won't willingly listen to what I have to say (I frankly wouldn't put up with it either if I was in their shoes so I feel that's fair). All of this to say, no, I don't hate homosexual people and neither should anyone in the Catholic faith. And if anyone has spewed hatred at you or anyone you know, then I personally apologize for how disrespectful they have been, they are still children of God.

As someone who grew up in a very strict cult-like religion in the Philippines, I can't help but resonate with the people who had religion ruin their lives. My grandparents were heavily involved in this church hence passing on that belief to my mother and then forcing it upon us her children. It's sad that we were never really taught to think for ourselves and every decision we made is still kind of influenced by the church. You want to move to another country? No, you have to go through the church to make sure you'd still go to service. You want to marry someone outside of your faith? Well too bad, it's either you convert them or end your relationship. Our mother was always gaslighting us whenever we question the church. I am glad I had the courage and was able to leave this religion a few years ago, but at the expense of my relationship with my parents and church friends. They haven't talked to me ever since. Now that I'm older, I'm looking back at how we grew up following rules we never questioned. Now I know who I'm not gonna be towards my children.

I grew up Christian, and I have to tell you, I was conflicted. Not to say that I deny Jesus Christ, but it was the people that made me conflicted. The mentors were teaching/spewing hate due to ones sexual orientation, different religious beliefs, shacking, and holding Christianity as the only right belief to salvation. Never sat right with me, even as a kid in elementary school. I grew up as a military kid, and got exposure to many cultures, majority of them becoming dear friends, and family. The church I was a part of for over a decade, mainly by my parents choice, was more into what you could receive materially when you pray. I was more in tune with what I could receive mentally and emotionally when I pray to improve myself. I was always tapping into emotions, and how to better my feelings, and what not, and the church members including the ministers and pastor are aggressive, hostile, and very intimidating. I found out as I got older, I explored, not heavily, Buddhism, Hindu, Muslim, as well as Christian and Catholic practices like reading quotes, or practicing some form of meditations. You can always learn something from each, but I wish there weren’t labels, because it separates. I like to call it spirituality, but that might be a topic for another day. Thank you Psyche2go for a very informative video. The comments in the video are so relatable.

I would never thought you guys would make a video with this subject, and I'm so happy about it!!! I'm a psychology student, I was raised in a very religious family and I know how that influenced me in a bad way and how hard it was to get out of something that wasn't meant for me and everyone around me was pushing me to still be a part of that. I want to help people who is struggling to be who they are because of a religious family and the stuff they put inside your mind. It's hard, REALLY HARD, to stand up for yourself and have your own mind when they tell you that God is going to punish you all the time. I believe religion is freedom of spirit, not a cage that you're stuck inside and you have to obey your owner. I'm sure God is not like that!!!

Although the concept of religion is good , but the implementation is always influenced by politics and ideologies in negative or positive ways .
In my opinion, spirituality is what makes people "happy" but religion is its more social accpect that can make them unaccepted , sad , angry or in the worst case dead.

I’m feeling stuck right now. I’m an atheist and a lifelong atheist who was raised by parents who aren’t religious as well. I both do and do not want to join a religion, even though I’m slightly leaning towards staying an atheist. The only reason (although it’s a strong one) that I want to join religion is because I’ve been feeling very depressed and empty lately. I don’t feel like anyone truly loves me, and I’ve been feeling overly anxious with my future path in life because I’m about to go to college (which I never wanted to go to). I’m afraid I will stay pessimistic and depressed due to the fact that I have to waste a bunch of time and money going to a place I forced myself into (no one forced me into it, I just feel like I’d be a loser without it). If I go to college, I feel like I’d stay depressed and anxious, and if I don’t go to college, I feel like I’d stay depressed and anxious, so this feels like a lose lose situation for me. Though many things are stopping me from becoming religious. First of all, I honestly generally have a negative view on religious people to start because from my observations and experiences, they tend to be the people that discriminate and judge others unfairly, become homophobic, be forceful, and encourage hatred in general. Also, I so strongly believe that there is no God, and that religious people reject the facts of science (especially evolution, which I’m a STRONG believer in).
So in short, I want to join a religion to cope with depression and anxiety, and to help bear hard times, but I don’t want to join because I strongly believe that there is no God, I don’t want to become a hateful person and be hated like many religious people, I don’t want to be a discriminatory individual and want to stick to my scientific beliefs, and I feel like I wouldn’t truly be accepted by the religion due to the person that I am. Lastly, I also want to have more forgiving views towards super religious individuals. I just feel like it’s more of a hateful death cult than a respectful and beneficial practice.

This last year I been considering changing christianity for agnosticism and combine with science facts
Agnosticism (from what I can remember) is not believing a religion or specific god but also no questioning the existence of a god
I think this combination like a god’s will (or a inmaterial thing get a will to become a god/create a god) propelled the existence of the universe or choose this planet because of its life forms potential (give a chance to many planets and ours was one of the most successful) idk
And I also consider that the universe may just always have existed and sometimes renovating materia
But I’m still unsure about this change because my parents religions are different but the same God and already told my dad I’m not following his (was one of my worst days of my life), in my social circle there’s some family members (specially uncles, aunts and my dad) that can go heavy when povs differ and I’m autistic and sometimes I felt it’s already enough too awful experiences (because I’m still trying to heal) but I also want to feel my true self as I can as someone neurodivergent
I also went through depression (passive su.ic1dal ideation in childhood turning active in preteen) and anxiety
(The ideation is something I don’t tell yet to my family, friends and even my psychologist because I’m still insecure to tell but those thoughts have been disappearing) so I feel you in a sense and also feel kinda pressured to choose a career
I hope you find a way to get help! ❤️‍🩹
I will try to give some devices
Use what’s fits better for you
Think the reasons for why you have depression and anxiety and start to heal from there
If you can’t effort to get therapy try to write in a diary (it can be in digital) how was your day? What have been your thoughts lately? What emotions you felt? Questions like that and always note if something good happened or it’s makes you happy even if it’s just a little thing
It’s usually recommended to find a group or someone comfortable to rely on and make hangouts or activities because we humans are social beings
Maybe doing a hobby or physical activity can cheer you up
Change pessimistic thoughts to something more optimistic (like “I can do this task”) but also remember to be realistic (“I’m in my limit I should take some rest”)
      These are another question:
Some say they love you and even if it’s really intended, you just don’t feel it because maybe they’re lying, they are too much for you or saying for pity?
Try to do research why we feel unloved
Sometimes people just don’t know, if it’s someone there who offers to help you, try to guide them like sending some videos about depression and anxiety from this channel
Healing is a long road be patient and try to not be too harsh with yourself 🫂
Sorry for the long text and also english isn’t my first language in case you find some mistakes

Very cool to see all the personal stories people shared. I believe all of them are valid. This implies that religions that make exclusive claims to truth are false and not to be believed as to the substance those claims. As long as religious groups can steer clear of this pitfall, they have a chance at being healthy and beneficial. But for some groups, disentangling themselves from it would be a tricky process.

In my experience, most forms of organized religions tend to invent problems and then sell you the solutions to the problems they created - while it does provide a sense of purpose in life, that purpose can be easily become questioned once you begin to recognize the internal contradictions within it: creating more problems than it solved in the first place - both in your own peace of mind and within your community as you voice those concerns.
My advice: stay away from organized religion - if you must have a kind of spirituality, let it be one that’s completely personalized: you will be better able to address internal contradictions without the stress and turmoil that occurs when you do so in more organized settings.

To be honest, I'm a Baptist, and I still believe many Baptist views. I've started to feel more conflicted about being in this religion over time, though, especially as my beliefs changed. Before, I thought that anyone being in the LGBTQ+ community is "wrong," even though I didn't hate them. After doing a bit of research and reading an entire article about if being trans was a sin though, I learned it's not really a sin, just people being who they are. I've always known that God loves us all no matter who we are, and He wants us to love others as well, so I never got around to disliking people that were LGBTQ+. In fact, I technically am in the LGBTQ+ community now, since I sorta came to a realization I'm probably nonbinary. Male-leaning, but still.
I'm thankful my family doesn't use religion to spread hate on others, but I have noticed their views don't align with mine, and they'll get upset if they get a slight hint that I'm not fully aligned with them, which I'm not. As a result, I tend to keep my beliefs to myself as much as possible. My family does really love me, and I love them a whole lot too, but I'm just scared we're growing apart and that they'll reject me if I come out.

dont listen to people or to random voices in your head, listen to what God has to say about it, dont do what God tells you to do because it is a chore obligation, but because you love God, and you love God because He first loved you (1 john 4:19), once you realise how much He loves you, which surpasses all understanding, you will love God and do what he says, and trust me, living according to what God in the bible says is not going to put you in a mental prison, but the exact opposite, it will set you free. (john 8:32) The bible's teachings and God's commandments and comments about sin is the way to a prosperous life, in here and in heaven, yes you will suffer because you are doing the right thing, and the world will hate you because it is wicked (john 15:18-20). God is with you brother, i cant relate to your suffering but im sure it sucks, so yeah God is real and he wants you to come to Him. He wants to forgive your sins (john 1:19) and he even sent Jesus as a sacrifice for our sins, so that we may be cleansed and be forgiven from our sins, whoever believes in Jesus will be saved and have everlasting life in Heaven with God. i’m on the side of cons. i was religious for a few years of my life but that was during a very emotional part of my life, i was muslim and very overzealous. Islam was how i breathed. it became suffocating quickly. I started to wonder if this is how the rest of my life would be following rule after rule, being a good pious girl, all for what? i thought to myself, i’d be damned if Allah isn’t real and I wasted my life like this. It wasn’t how I wanted to live my life, I wanted or rather felt the need to live like that was because I felt that God wanted me to. I needed know if He was real. So for months, I looked at the facts and listened to lectures and studied as i had before. I found quite a bit of flaws, I had asked muslims including family, friends and even sheepishly inquire my sheikh about it and no one had answers. I thought to myself if god allows this, then that cannot be my god because i could never accept something like that. As a person, Im either all in or all out on a lot of things. I felt like if I was Muslim, I had to accept every bit of Islam, the good and the bad and be like those who pretend that the bad doesn’t exist. I imagined if a non believer would inquire me about those same things like “Hey, in the quran it says this. Do you agree with that? Do you agree with your God?”. I could not, in my bones agree with the morality of the religion

My relationship with religion has been...special, to say the least. My parents tried to give me a totally unreligious childhood and early years. So I knew what catholicism was (as it was impossible for me not to know since I live in Spain), but the concept of it...or any religion, for that matter, was strange for me. When I formed my identity, for a lack of knowledge, I declared myself as agnostic. Something had to be there, I knew it, but...yeah, I knew nothing.
But, then, I came across paganism (a religion I feel it was greatly left out in the video, I don't know if for the lack of answers or for any other reasons), and sumerian paganism specifically, and everything checked for me. I loved mesopotamian/sumerian myths even before knowing that paganism was a thing, but after I looked more into the way of viewing life they had/current meso pagans have, it fitted like a glove to me. And here we are, some years later. I sometimes felt like the lack of religious training from my early years was a double edge weapon, as it left me clueseless of anything, even the most basic things. But also freed me of any sort of trauma or predisposition/prejudice to paganism. So that's that.
Thanks for this video, as I feel it's value, and sorry if I messed up on this comment, as english is my second language!

My belief from a young age was always being agnostic and still is! I believe that you should practice a lot of the positives that religion can preach. It really outlines well the good/evil in humans. It's incredibly important to build a morally strong foundation where you will not be lead into temptation. Like any species on this planet, for the most part, all species look out for their own and protect one another. Have you ever looked into "Cold-Case for Christianity"? He's a homicide detective that talks about the validity of Christianity without using Biblical text. One of the things he mentioned about the unsaved, as that they usually range from 1 to 4. On one extreme you have people that want nothing to do with Christianity and aren't even open to discussing it really. He talks about how the best approach with them is to live your life in a way that glorifies the Lord and build a relationship with those people. They're more likely to be open to talking about such things if they know you on a more personal basis than if you were just some random person on the street. So prayer and living a life that shows the Lords glory might be the best approach depending on what state of mind the other person is in. Definitely not the easy way for sure. Takes a lot of dedication and time.

Of course that’s a rather shortened and simple way of sharing a point, but to whom it may have been to inform you that your sins end when your life ends, I apologize you had to hear such lies, deception, and endure all of that… I appreciate you for responding back though and am grateful you are with us still, truly, may the Lord I serve be with you and bless greatly in life my friend 🤍

On the other hand, I ask you to give other belief systems the same treatment you expect others to grant you and recognize that mores and values they espouse resonate with others in the same way Islam resonates with you: treat their beliefs as being every bit as legitimate as your own - even if you disagree with them.

The more I wrote, the more reasons I found against religion from a personal and mental health perspective. So here we are xD
An important factor I think that there are more bad eggs in religion than in atheism or random interest groups. I think religions that have the idea of one almighty god you have to obey, is often dangerous. Because people are used to or are even looking for authority figures, and this leads to intense ingroup outgroup thinking when the leader claims that a group of people is a problem for them. They might also instill fear in the followers because that's how they keep their members in.
They might also tell people to go and convert others, and often nobody in this conversation enjoys this.
It may also give one a false sense of security, like I do not have to fix much in this life, because I have an afterlife. This is not a healthy way to deal with anxiety and responsibility.
Also I find thinking that other people go to hell deeply problematic, people should rather try to find common ground with others and build healthy bonds. Thinking you are superior to them can be damaging relationships and I think people with extreme beliefs are probably lonely, unless they are straight up surrounded by a cult.
Being a religious minority in your area can be dangeous and isolating, but so can being an atheist if they happen to be the minority. But if you find your local community, this can also help bond. But again it could lead to seeing others as a potential threat, unlike you or less than you.
Some religious groups tend to think that mental health related issues are "demons" or something, some are kind of "anti science" and try to explain everything with their spiritual beliefs.
They sometimes claim humans are superior to other animals, or not even see humans as animals. I think religions that honor nature are much better for us, because we can value nature and other animals. Pets can have good effects for us and being in nature too.

Many people find Christianity at their lowest moment. Some people found it when they were going to unalive themselves. I found it in one of my lowest moments and it has saved me. I respect everyone equally and I don't discriminate, because that's what Jesus said. He said that we are all created in the image of God, so we are equal. There was some pretty savage homophobia but that is an exception and not a rule in my experience. I'm in favor of anything that can make us more communal in these times. Dr Gabor Mate and Dr Gordon Neufeld got me on board with "the attachment village" concept. Makes sense to me.

For me, being a Jew never bothered me even though I'm traditionalist (not extremely practicing, but I tend to improve it and I have faith). On the opposite, it allowed me to meet so much great people and defines 99% of my personality since my education and my urroundings are Jewish, so yes you kinda need to agree with your religion and being taught about it correctly, but once it's done it's really nice. Apart of that, I just came here to say we need to accept everyone's religion and beliefs and respect if they don't have any, I don't know for other religions but at least in Judaism we don't think Gentiles are "following the wrong path", I believe G-od Made us in the way He Wanted, so whatever are you beliefs or religions as long as you respect other's it's totally good!

I was raised a semi-christian, not an atheist, not a christian either.
When i was 13 i wanted to get closer to god but i wasn't ready to go to church, so i settled for gospel influencers on RUclips and that was my first mistake.
I was pulled down the rabbit hole, and I was terrified. I was told about the rapture, and was scared that I'd have to live everyday as if it were my last. I was told not to expect to see heven. I was told that if I wanted to go to hell I should scroll. I thought my dad was in hell because he wasn't a full christian and I cried multiple times.
I wanted out, but I was scared into staying like a cultist having second thoughts.
After finally getting good advice from my Grandpa (bless his soul) I started to press do not recommend this channel with the gospel and i felt freer, better, happier, lighter. But the cost was my religious trauma.
My experience with gospel influencers took a tole on me, and I wasn't comfortable living with christian values.
I recently I've gotten more comfortable with the idea of converting, and it's something that I think will do better for me but that's not to say I'm suddenly disrespecting Christianity. There are very wonderful people I've met, but I can't be part of the religion due to the trauma I've taken from it.

So! Not so fun fact! I have really, really wanted to be a believer for... literally dozens of times and have failed miserably every time. I would go to church, pray, think of ways to be more religious and so on. Still the same thoughts came back to me: This just doesn't click with me no matter how hard I try. Whitch version is the correct one? How do I pray and serve God the right way? Is Jesus prophet or God? Too many very fundamental questions have no definitive answer that only can me truly answered if God himself comes down from heaven and tell humanity how it truly is. For me I enjoy religion and the community it brings. The thing I don't like is the super strickt rules and the "Our way is the only true way and everyone else will burn i hell" mentality and surpression of minorities , people who can't choose who they are is wrong.

So I’m in the Southern area of America and they are VERY Christian down there. In my first three years of elementary school my Christian ‘best friend’ and I would chat about love and relationships because I had been the flower ‘girl’ at a lesbian wedding and when I told my best friend she said I was now infected with their sin and that I would go to hell for being there. (She didn’t actually say hell this was first grade) I switched schools and that girl was at the same new school as me. In 5th grade I realized I wasn’t cis and went by they/them back then and that was a school full of Christians and like one atheist. The Christians there weren’t too found of my new identity. I also see two girls 5+ times each year and being around them is inescapable, they say that they respect me but can’t support me because they’re Christian if someone could maybe explain to me what they mean by this that would be greatly appreciated because I still don’t quite understand what they mean.
At a summer camp I went to as a kid a saying was “god first, others second, I am third.” I remember telling a camp counselor that saying god goes first is dumb because he isn’t actually here and having others as second seams mean. The camp counselor was nice to little third grade me and just said “Everyone believes different things and we respect that no matter what. If you wanna discuss this further talk to your parents at the end of camp.”

Religion has become a term with so much baggage and as a Christian it is honestly so sad to see how people have sometimes been treated by the church. At least in my view, religion gives me a sense of grounding and inspires me to live out in a way that can always provide love to others no matter what they believe. Whether you are religious or not should be secondary to the fact that it’s so important to always treat each other with love, kindness, and respect

Recently, there has been a lot of politics on college campuses in the United States around the Israel-Palestine issue. I had been awkwardly interrogated about it in a job interview. This is my screen name, but my name was identified as Muslim by a Jewish business owner. That was a tough, heated moment. I hope there won't be so much beef between Muslims and Jews. I have also had some Christian preachers try to convert me. I understand that most people obtain their religious affiliation from whatever they inherited from their parents, and that we grow out of it eventually. Whatever works for you. Because of these types of experiences, along with family networks, that religion can complicate social and political matters even more and as a result, I try to keep words like "God" and "religion" out of my conversations around mental health. No, I don't believe all non-believers will go to hell or anything like that. It's okay to not believe in God. It's okay to not believe in a life after death. For me, these bring up even more questions than I would be interested in knowing the answer to and may cause even more anxiety than a secular approach, ironically. But for those who find relief in it, go for whatever works for you. People's situations are complicated and I want to know people's details before making a proper conclusion.

I'm an atheist. I used to be an "evangelizing" atheist just because I saw religion as being untrue and clearly bringing on more evil than good. I still don't find religious cosmology to be true and even interpreting a lot of stories metaphorically can lead to some iffy morals. But I don't see religion as the root of all evil anymore nor need to convince others to become atheists.
What I see religion as is a point of view. A person's views on God reflect how they see the world in a moral sense, either how it is or how it should be. And those views aren't always bad. But it can explain how two people who consider themselves Christian can have VERY different opinions.
Ultimately I don't find religion personally helpful because most of their factual assessments of the physical universe are wrong, no religion seems to make more people overall more moral than nonbelievers or those of other religions, and I just don't trust putting moral authority in a single book and/or person given the authority to supposedly speak for the divine. But I understand why other people feel differently and don't consider people bad just because they're religious.

Right now I'm 26 yo, I have a fairly weak will and some issues like the lack or struggle to have goals in my life, low self steem and things like that.
Now I had a talk with my father some time ago and we both wondered if I had gone to any church when I was little would've prevented some of my current self problems.
I know there's a ton of people who are not religious and don't have any problems, but I wonder if in my case since I'm not strong willed, having an imaginary guide could've helped in any way.

I do not think it is good or bad, but just a way for people to open up and consider the possibilities rather than take what is said as an absolute. It's the segregation of people due to their beliefs that becomes the issue. We were not made to be perfect. We will sin (make mistakes). We should consider how we have sinned so that we can correct ourselves in the future (part of repenting). This is why I like merging religious discussion into philosophy and discuss the similarities and differences, rather than saying what you believe is right or wrong.

(Sorry I wrote so much, I lost my grip and just started venting hhh)
The most ironic thing about this is that this video showed up right after my dad said we were going to church again...I guess Psych2Go is just good at knowing what I need hhh, after all they helped me discover I had multiple issues (depression and ADHD just being a couple of them). But honestly, this has been a major dilemma for me lately. Ever since summer 2023, my "faith" has been dwindling... I don't even know how it got this bad. I've been struggling with something since 2021 and I suppose my faith kept me going sometimes between then and 2023, and believe me I was quite the devoted believer back then, but eventually I started having questions. And when those questions went unanswered, I guess I just slowly started losing faith.
I then slowly stopped praying and believing, although I guess I still hold onto some of my beliefs. Maybe it's out of fear of damnation. Maybe they're just ingrained too deep in me and I'm too scared of the thought of abandoning them completely. I don't even have a label for myself now, although that wouldn't exactly help much. I'm only Christian by name at this point, it's only surface-level, just so I don't raise any questions from my family... One thing I do know for sure though, when you spend your whole life being told that you either believe or get punished for lack of faith on "judgement day", it's hard not to live in fear of doing the wrong thing by taking a step back or leaving behind your beliefs altogether.
They keep saying that God is with us, that his presence is always with us, that the Holy Spirit is within us and that we can feel His presence, but at this point I agree with that one comment, as much as I hate to say it - it feels unsubstantiated. If the presence is here, then why did I have to make myself believe I felt it when it was actually just a belief? Shouldn't it naturally be there? It made me feel inadequate, even when I was still devoted. Like I was lacking. I don't know if that was true or not, but these beliefs just seem like just claims. Nothing really believable that I can trust and lean on. I'm sorry if that offends anyone but that's just how it is for me. And the fact that I'm forced to go to church anyway doesn't really help, because now it feels like I'm being force-fed someone's opinions/interpretations (on another note it's also nerve-wracking because I have social anxiety hhh). So I don't know how this story continues for me. Maybe I'll find some answer one day. Maybe I won't. But for now, I don't even feel like I can freely decide what to believe.
(Thx to anyone that read this far hhh, I wasn't really expecting people to stick around. Have a nice day/night)

Guess i am more of a God loving spiritualist, just looking back it feels like my Way of living my life kind of was as if i had some watchful angels around me, not that it was always easy, there were some dark times too, but nothing i wasn´t able to go through, like my Intuition, luck and or Divine interventions mostly came at the right time to guide me through hardships. Today i am surrounded by some good like minded People.
Also (so far) do not mind going/studying with a few of the Jehova witnesses, painting my own picture of them regardless of all those negative judgments, framing or rumors, especially from institutes (Church), i am not one to judge, but observe with openmind.

      (Mark 13: 32) Jesus wasn't all knowing.
(Isaiah 49: 9) God is all knowing.
(Isaiah 29 : 12 New king James version):
Then the book is delivered to one who is illiterate, saying "Read this please". And he says "I'm not literate"
Peace be upon the one who was mentioned years before he was born. "Read" was the first word to appear in the Holy Quran.
      Surah Az-Zukhruf (Chapter 43), verse 81:
"Say [O Muhammad], 'If the Most Merciful had a son, then I would be the first of worshippers.'"
      1. **Surah Al-Ma'idah (5:116)**:
      - "And [beware the Day] when Allah will say, 'O Jesus, Son of Mary, did you say to the people, "Take me and my mother as deities besides Allah?"' He will say, 'Exalted are You! It was not for me to say that to which I have no right. If I had said it, You would have known it. You know what is within myself, and I do not know what is within Yourself. Indeed, it is You who is Knower of the unseen.'"
      2. **Surah An-Nisa (4:171)**:
      - "O People of the Scripture, do not commit excess in your religion or say about Allah except the truth. The Messiah, Jesus, the son of Mary, was but a messenger of Allah and His word which He directed to Mary and a soul [created at a command] from Him. So believe in Allah and His messengers. And do not say, 'Three'; desist - it is better for you. Indeed, Allah is but one God. Exalted is He above having a son. To Him belongs whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on the earth. And sufficient is Allah as Disposer of affairs."
      3. **Surah Al-Ma'idah (5:72)**:
      - "They have certainly disbelieved who say, 'Allah is the Messiah, the son of Mary' while the Messiah has said, 'O Children of Israel, worship Allah, my Lord and your Lord.' Indeed, he who associates others with Allah - Allah has forbidden him Paradise, and his refuge is the Fire. And there are not for the wrongdoers any helpers."
      4. **Surah Maryam (19:88-92)**:
      - "And they say, 'The Most Merciful has taken [for Himself] a son.' You have done an atrocious thing. The heavens almost rupture therefrom and the earth splits open and the mountains collapse in devastation. That they attribute to the Most Merciful a son. And it is not appropriate for the Most Merciful that He should take a son."
"I bear witness that there is no god but Allah alone with no partner, and I bear witness that Muhammad is His servant and messenger."
Jesus, known as 'Isa in Arabic, is mentioned in several verses of the Quran. Here are some key verses:
      1. **Surah Al-Baqarah (2:87)**
      > "We gave Moses the Scripture and followed up after him with messengers. And We gave Jesus, the son of Mary, clear proofs and supported him with the Pure Spirit."
      2. **Surah Al-Baqarah (2:253)**
      > "Those messengers - some of them We caused to exceed others. Among them were those to whom Allah spoke, and He raised some of them in degree. And We gave Jesus, the son of Mary, clear proofs, and We supported him with the Pure Spirit."
      3. **Surah Al-Imran (**3:45**)**
      > "[And mention] when the angels said, 'O Mary, indeed Allah gives you good tidings of a word from Him, whose name will be the Messiah, Jesus, the son of Mary - distinguished in this world and the Hereafter and among those brought near [to Allah].'"
      4. **Surah Al-Imran (**3:52**)**
      > "But when Jesus felt [persistence in] disbelief from them, he said, 'Who are my supporters for [the cause of] Allah?' The disciples said,' We are supporters for Allah. We have believed in Allah and testify that we are Muslims [submitting to Him].'"
      5. **Surah Al-Imran (**3:55**)**
      > "[Mention] when Allah said, 'O Jesus, indeed I will take you and raise you to Myself and purify you from those who disbelieve and make those who follow you [in submission to Allah alone] superior to those who disbelieve until the Day of Resurrection. Then to Me is your return, and I will judge between you concerning that in which you used to differ.'"
      6. **Surah An-Nisa (4:157-158)**
      > "And [for] their saying, 'Indeed, we have killed the Messiah, Jesus, the son of Mary, the messenger of Allah.' And they did not kill him, nor did they crucify him; but [another] was made to resemble him to them. And indeed, those who differ over it are in doubt about it. They have no knowledge of it except the following of assumption. And they did not kill him, for certain. Rather, Allah raised him to Himself. And ever is Allah Exalted in Might and Wise."
      7. **Surah An-Nisa (4:171)**
      > "O People of the Scripture, do not commit excess in your religion or say about Allah except the truth. And sufficient is Allah as Disposer of affairs."
      8. **Surah Al-Maidah (5:110)**
      > "[The Day] when Allah will say, 'O Jesus, Son of Mary, remember My favor upon you and upon your mother when I supported you with the Pure Spirit and you spoke to the people in the cradle and in maturity; and when I taught you writing and wisdom and the Torah and the Gospel; and when you designed from clay [what was] like the form of a bird with My permission, then you breathed into it, and it became a bird with My permission; and you healed the blind and the leper with My permission; and when you brought forth the dead with My permission; and when I restrained the Children of Israel from [killing] you when you came to them with clear proofs and those who disbelieved among them said, 'This is not but obvious magic.'"
      9. **Surah Al-Maidah (5:116)**
      > "And [beware the Day] when Allah will say, 'O Jesus, Son of Mary, did you say to the people, "Take me and my mother as deities besides Allah?"' He will say, 'Exalted are You! It was not for me to say that to which I have no right. If I had said it, You would have known it. You know what is within myself, and I do not know what is within Yourself. Indeed, it is You who is Knower of the unseen.'"
      10. **Surah Maryam (**19:16**-34)**
      > This passage narrates the story of Mary and the miraculous birth of Jesus, emphasizing his prophetic mission and miraculous abilities granted by Allah.

      Surah Maryam:
And mention, [O Muhammad], in the Book [the story of] Mary, when she withdrew from her family to a place toward the east. And she took, in seclusion from them, a screen. Then We sent to her Our Angel, and he represented himself to her as a well-proportioned man.She said, "Indeed, I seek refuge in the Most Merciful from you, [so leave me], if you should be fearing of Allah."He said, "I am only the messenger of your Lord to give you [news of] a pure boy."She said, "How can I have a boy while no man has touched me and I have not been unchaste?"He said, "Thus [it will be]; your Lord says, 'It is easy for Me, and We will make him a sign to the people and a mercy from Us. And it is a matter [already] decreed.'"So she conceived him, and she withdrew with him to a remote place. And the pains of childbirth drove her to the trunk of a palm tree. She said, "Oh, I wish I had died before this and was in oblivion, forgotten."But he called her from below her, "Do not grieve; your Lord has provided beneath you a stream. And shake toward you the trunk of the palm tree; it will drop upon you ripe, fresh dates. So eat and drink and be contented. And if you see from among humanity anyone, say, 'Indeed, I have vowed to the Most Merciful abstention, so I will not speak today to [any] man.'"Then she brought him to her people, carrying him. They said, "O Mary, you have certainly done a thing unprecedented.O sister of Aaron, your father was not a man of evil, nor was your mother unchaste."So she pointed to him. They said, "How can we speak to one who is in the cradle a child?"[Jesus] said, "Indeed, I am the servant of Allah. He has given me the Scripture and made me a prophet."And He has made me blessed wherever I am and has enjoined upon me prayer and zakah as long as I remain alive,And [made me] dutiful to my mother, and He has not made me a wretched tyrant. And peace is on me the day I was born and the day I will die and the day I am raised alive."That is Jesus, the son of Mary - the word of truth about which they are in dispute. It is not [befitting] for Allah to take a son; exalted is He! When He decrees an affair, He only says to it, "Be," and it is.

Whether you gave your life to Jesus yesterday or you’re a season saint with 20+ years, you can’t do Christianity without Christ. Many people give up because they put more faith in people than they do in Jesus or rely on their self instead of trusting in the finish work of the cross. It takes more faith than works however, your faith will produce works to live a life that is pleasing to Jesus. I pray you give Jesus another chance to show you who he really is. Because he love you so much. 🙏🏽

This life is too short and temporary my friend, there are a lot of religions out there, take it easy and don't rush anything to chose your path to an eternal life in paradise, do your own researches, and develop your own perspectives, if you wanna learn about Jesus, read about him from the original testament cause the one in English is translated and translation ain't 100% faithful to the original one. May God guide towards the Truth, Good luck.
