Ok this might help some of you though not all. If you get a PS2 Mouse (not playstation) the very old style pre USB some motherboards have the connector still mine did Asus MX480, you can then access the accessibility icon and voilà an on-screen keyboard this allowed me to input my password and I was in. This didn't cure the USB issue but I could at least get into my PC.

Damn You Microsoft!!!! This happened to me after a windows update. Been like this for 2 days now!!!! Cant get into safe mode, system wont boot from windows CD, On startup now it takes like 15 minutes to load up the sign in screen,(Half the time I cant even get to the sign up screen, I'll get a black screen with the mouse cursor). Go to the bottom right corner to click the sign on symbol and it does not respond to mouse click or keyboard all of a sudden. Nothing happens when I click CTL ALT DELETE. This is so DAMN!! FRUSTRATING!!! computer was running fine up until after the Windows Update.
