I have to say that this is probably the best video you've ever made in my opinion. Not because it's Sonic or talking about a topic I'm very interested in, but because of the impecable editing and comedy bits. You've really put a lot into this and it shows, thank you.
Sonic Mania is the sixth gamemode of Super Mario Maker 2.
I would love to see a video like this about Metallic Madness Zone. It has so many gimmicks but they're all really cool and easy to understand. A great example of a level that was improved from the original (not that the original was bad, just not as good)

Metallic Madness (as do others in CD) suffers from sprawling, confusing, and unforgiving level design
Mania improved on it completely
Eh, CD's my (second) favorite Sonic game, and even I hated that stage. The confusing labyrinth-like structure, tons of cheap shots, tubes, lack of time-travel spots (if you're going for that), and THAT DAMN PIT FROM ACT 3.

Yes other sonic games have plot holes but I didn't think they where nearly as bad as this.

I learned that in my first playthrough of Mania, I had 30 minutes into the game at the time.
