    Thanks for the detailed review! Was looking at the Tethrd stuff as my first saddle because everyone runs them. Figured it’s got to be good. But then I discovered the Cruzr saddles and the features just make this seem to be the one I like the best. Coming from a climber, I want to still have the comfort but have better mobility and tree choices. I think you’ve convinced me!

      Awesome, it’s a product we really believe in. Saddle hunting has a huge learning curve but once you get it all figured out you will never lug that heavy climber around again. I suggest getting all your stuff now and mess and tweak your gear all summer. It’s surprising how fun it is just to go out and practice climbing trees. We should have some more content coming soon!

    Just got this set up a few weeks ago , hung in the yard some getting the feel of being in a saddle , very comfortable. Let a few friends try it out who already saddle hunt and I believe they are switching over to the xc this season . Can’t wait for season to get here.

      I couldn't agree more. We need to start warning our buddies before they try it.... all of our wives are gonna be mad at us!

    This is exactly what I am doing, we even have the same hoist rope lol. I started off with the Hawk and while the saddle was comfortable the ropes were absolutely garbage, so much so that on the very first hunt I took it on the bridge started fraying just from me reversing to shoot behind me. So I started looking for a bridge replacement and came across Cruzr's Amsteel Bridge and was really impressed, which led me to look at their saddles. Then I got to looking at reviews and well, the Hawk is getting sent back for an XC. Love your setup!

      We couldn't be happier with it. It's a solid setup all around. We've had several buddies start off with the hawk rig and it's usually up for sell pretty quick after they use ours. Their sticks have been a good cheaper option for us over the years. Looking forward to getting our hands on some of Cruzrs new sticks and getting some climbing time in with them. Hopefully will have a review of them to come soon!

    Good Review.
    My first saddle was a Kestrel Flex, I thought it was great. Then I tried my cousins CRUZR XC, in 3O seconds I knew I was getting my wallet out and buying one. CRUZR is the most comfortable out of the 4-5 saddles I have tried. Im 5 ft 7”, 36”-38” waste, running the size 2, it worked good early and late season with extra clothes.

    I was about to order my first saddle setup through tethr then had a random cruzr saddle video pop up and so I watched it and heard nothing but good about them in all videos I’ve watched I’ve never heard of them before but then again I’m just getting into saddle hunting, good thing I waited because I’m going to order the Xc super setup and it comes with everything I need a lot cheaper then what I was going to pay through tethr can’t wait to get this setup delivered to me so I can try it out for myself.

      There's a link to it in the description. It's an Exo Mountain K3 4800. We use them in September in the mountains chasing elk all the way through the winter for whitetails. It's a very versatile pack that packs down amazingly small for its size.

    Noticed your bow Hunter safety system lanyard hanging on the back of your saddle. I just purchased the Cruzr kit like this. Trying to get my set up figured out before the season. I also have the same HSS lanyard. Two questions, how did you attach it to the saddle, and do you wind it back in place by removing it or from behind you. Thanks

    • @gritarchery
      @gritarchery  Год назад

      Its attached to the 2nd tight row molle with a zip tie around it for extra security. I leave it attached at all times. Its not perfect but its the best light weight option I've found.

    I've had the Tethrd Phantom since 2020 and I really like it. The only thing I don't like is how much it rides up by backside. On m all-day sits as I alternate between standing and sitting positions, I keep having to pull the saddle down - which of course causes a lot of extra movement in the tree. Have you guys experienced that with the Phantom as well? And do you experience anything like that with the Cruzr? I imagine probably not since the panel expands and is able to reach dang near to the back of your thigh.

    • @gritarchery
      @gritarchery  7 месяцев назад +1

      That was our same experience with the Phantom. It is a great product but we were constantly having it ride upon us. The XC has been the perfect hybrid between a one and two panel saddle. We still have zero complaints with it

      Ropes are both from Cruzr. They come standard with prusik knots and tenders. The metal adjuster is called a Ropeman 1 you get them from outdoor/climbing companies like moose jaw or rei. They are a must have

    How do you get your bow up?

    • @gritarchery
      @gritarchery  Год назад

      I use a Hunter Safety Systems Gear Hoist. You hook your bow up on the ground and it pulls out line as you climb. When you get to the top you pull your bow up then wind up the rope. There are some other products that automatically retract the cord (Doyles Hunting Hoist or a dog leash) but the one I use is the most streamlined and light that I have found.
