    See kids, the energy you can bring to a show when you don’t rely on and use your smartphones as a crutch for every damn moment of a concert. Ahh, the fun ol’ days of going to live shows.

    The Guitarist, Tom Morello, is a wizard. He can make his guitar sound like anything, or make any crazy noise you've never heard. Just know that RatM doesn't use any extra instrumentation in any of their songs, ever. Drum, bass, guitar, vocals, that's it.
    RatM came up in the early 90's right after the Rodney King beating and the LA riots. The saddest thing is that everything they spoke about is still just as relevant to this day.

    Zack is very intense on stage and aggressive with his flow. However, when you hear him in an interview he’s very soft spoken and very thoughtful.

      Exactly!!!!! He is confident and educated in everything he sings about. It’s not a front or for show. So he is calm and confident.

    Because they used musical instruments & therefore adding a hard rock/metal sound to their compositions their label (& most radio stations at the time) would not/did not cross promote them as a rap/hip-hop act. Both Zack (the rapper) & Tom (guitar) were both rap/hip-hop fans (particularly of Public Enemy & their frontman Chuck D). Which is amazing, because, rap/hip-hop is a cornerstone of their sound.

    • @dadwhatsfordinner

      That’s a shame because they are definitely a hip hop act. If they would’ve been cross promoted that way. There message would’ve reached more. I was primarily a hiphop head back in the days and would’ve bumped the hell out of rage. That’s my fault though I should’ve been paying attention

      It really seems to be when you consider the things that went on during Reagan, Bush Sr, Clinton, Bush Jr., and Joe Biden. The parties playing both sides. Companies profiting off of identity politics while they sell lies. CIA sell weapons to dictators and narcotics to its fellow citizens. The media shilling globalist agenda. The military industrial complex churning uninterrupted.

    • @kikivon3501
      @kikivon3501 Год назад

      @@quintrapnell3605 TRUTH!!!!! Between the mid 1960’s and now we have witnessed the corporate take over of our government. Both sides are guilty of selling a government that was for the people by the people to a government that is for the corporations but funded by the people. Dwight Eisenhower warned us of the military industrial complex in 1961 during his farewell speech. The powers that be have been so successful in keeping us distracted with capitalism and materialism, keeping us distracted by keeping us at odds with one another that they pretty much can do whatever they want. FOX news, MSNBC, CNN are ALL corporate owned and they highlight the most extreme versions of the news that fit their narrative. It’s editorial crap, to keep their corporate owners making money.

    ARM THE HOMELESS!
    1st time 4 me on this one for me.
    This screeching punky funk strikes me as a bit FUGAZI (band I def recommend) social/political fired up statement post-punk.
    ("13 Songs" album, prob the songs 4, 5 & 6 cover what I thought of, 4 & 5 re the music and 6 re subject matter.)
