How was this woman not in prison? Prosecutors need to really focus on crimes like this. I know lawyers have to do their job and supply a defense, but come on. I can't imagine any lawyer accepting to be her defense willingly after the kid crime. Lawyers with full-blown psychopathy probably wouldn't even defend her.
Well she is in prison now and everybody deserves a defense lawyer because you simply can't know if they are guilty unless you also try to defend them. In a perfect system if a defense lawyer wins it just means the evidence is lacking. Unfortunately sometimes it just means a bad prosecutor or bad police work. However we can't just send people to prison based on the fact they probably did it. That can only happen in civil suits. Lastly never blame the defense attorney. They are just doing their job, and the better they do it the less doubt there will be if the prosecutors still wins.

My biological parents wasn't really there for me, and my adoptive parents, they didn't really care about my mental health. She said even after everything her mother did to her, she still loved her because "She's my mom. How could I not love her?" So incredibly sad.
