1000% agree as she likes to SAY! Never been pregnant but I used to be super athletic (like all my life) and now at 26 I’m in the worst shape of my life. Im gathering all the encouragement here. It will be shedding off my “western winters” weight instead of baby weight.
Thanks to shan, I feel super motivated to work out again now.

I do noticed that when I stared to commit to working out everyday and having a balanced diet my body started to make that shift. Being a mom of two I always feel exhausted, but I still keep that discipline to get a good 15 minute workout in.

I am absolutely terrified of what my body will look like after having a baby. I have the best body of my life and I have extremely high standards for my stomach. My stomach is perfectly flat, and I’m just afraid of how I will feel about myself after baby. I’ve been through low self esteem before and it’s no way to live. You always need to find a way to feel beautiful.

YESSSSS! Love all of this so much. You are my muse soulmate! Love seeing you love your beautiful body and hearing about your journey. First eight pack of my life and feeling better than ever in my body after my second baby and feeling sick for the entire pregnancy. That baby is now 2- for me the double stroller-run-and-nap situation hasn't worked in some stages and has worked so great in others- it is such an incredible workout to push 2 up hills when I make it work! I hope you have felt solidarity and support as you have been sick all these months. Every time you say on your videos- we're sick again- I'm like yep! So amazed that you can put out any videos! Me & my sons were sick pretty much straight from September to march. Exhausting. Hoping you get the resolution you need around this soon! Also, if you ever need a new idea for a video, sex & sexuality during perimenapause is something that I think should be demystified as well. You have done such a great job with this with the pregnancy and post partum phase. I went into perimenapause a few months post partum with my second baby and did not know what the hell was happening to me. I thougt I was dying. Being told I was in perimenapause at 37 was like a punch in the gut. Like I would be dry and no longer sexually attractive. Two years later, I am having the best sex of my life. Just like having a baby doesn't mean you are destined to a sexual loss, neither does menaapause. It would be cool to hear you do an episode on this. Love your work! Thank you for all the gifts you give us!

As someone who just had a baby, let me say... eating is the ONLY thing that helped my nausea in the early months. I would feel sick... _until_ I ate. Since my body was very slender and you need extra fat to support the growth of a second person. I believe in intuitive eating and actually began to eat less later in pregnancy. I had already gained 40lbs and looked like a whale... people kept trying to feed me because I was 'eating for two' but all I wanted to eat were apples and nectarines. So that's what I ate. 🤷🏿‍♀️

I always have the upmost respect for anyone who keeps in shape or gets back in shape after becoming parents. I never understood why so many people let themselves go when they have kids. I know they must take up a lot of time and energy and I know not as easy for some parents as it may be for others, but it's still doable. Aside from physical attractiveness, it's simply much healthier and I think parents should be in the best possible health they can be for the sake of their kids. I would also argue that kids seeing their parents work out and having healthy habits motivates them to do the same, which is what's badly needed in a time of a childhood obesity epidemic.

I think its mainly impacted by having 2 kids in a really short time frame. usually the female body needs 3 years to recover from a pregnancy- while you got pregnant again you were just recovering from your first pregnancy even if you were in great shape. 2 babies is super tough as it requires more attention for them and even less for yourself. Probably also age contributed as with every year we get less efficiant in producing collagen and repairing. Also totally understandable that you ate fast food during 2nd pregnancy as you already had an obligation to take care of your first born.

Unrelated, but Shan could you please tell me what bra you’re wearing. I love the straps and that it isn’t making weird bumps. One of my biggest struggles while breastfeeding has been finding a bra that looks good and smooth

I have this unproven definitely not scientifically backed up what so ever theory that the more (reasonable amount of) children you have your body can bounce back to what it was prePregnancy if you stay solid in your routines // keep the same amount of activity level- whatever that might be, throughout pregnancy, postpartum, and life into toddlerhood. From my experience and observation of those around me when your sweet baby is somewhere between 2 - 3 is where mom gets the bod back without the extra work. And hey some people do not want to wait that long and I do not blame them. Just something I’ve personally noticed so I hope it gives hope to some other mommies who may be feeling like a old burp rag because I know I did at one point. Your body will find its way.
