I love seeing two people actively choose devotion to one another. In times of crisis, being their peace. Choosing to be calm even in your times of over stimulation. These are so real. It’s so easy to lash out, but once you recognize that’s what you’re doing and then choosing to do the hard thing and be loving. Trueeeee devotion. Amazing.
When I first saw this video pop up I say out loud “mom? Dad? Do u have something to tell us??” But after the first 10 seconds of Shan gushing over Jared my heart calmed down. Love y’all so much! ❤
I hope you never stop making these types of videos between you too. My own life parallels yours so much and I find comfort in knowing my experience is not isolated. Being an entrepreneur, managing 2 clingy toddlers, work piling up, being exhausted, trying to find ways to show up for each other, while also managing employee turnover, it's all a lot. There are days I'm so sure I'm an absolute failure, but videos like these normalize these phases and remind me there's a way forward as long as we have each other's back. Thank you thank you.
Aww! I love when it’s just you and Jared on the show! I love y’all’s love and the growth that we’ve been able to witness between you two. Keep up the good work.
Just three minutes in, but just wanted to chime in really quick and say; I noticed a huge change in the ability to be a working parent once my kid went to primary school. That gave me at least way more space for my own thoughts and my company. Those pre-school years are brutal. Hang in there!
I’m feeling this! I’m heavily considering taking a break for a few years to parent much more. Instead of using my retirement savings for that, I’m gonna see about how it would look to use it for these years where they need me the most
@@shanboody The COVID-lockdowns in a way forced me to do just that and in retrospect I am thankful for that time with her that I otherwise would have spent running around and working. Also, it doesn't have to be all or nothing of course. Perhaps there is a 'happy medium' where you can, in their pre school days - dedicate time to e.g. one project (let's say the podcast) - in stead of thinking about work in terms of a career? Parenting is work too. Grossly underpaid, if you ask me ;)
They are a perfect match, being married, on top of being parents and working together, they let their egos fall away and boost each other up even in stressful situations. Distance always makes the heart grow fonder.
Your relationship is rare but not impossible. I used to think the same thing until I found myself in peaceful relationship. We all come packaged with some kind of issue. For most of us it's abandonment. Whatever the trauma it comes with a default defense mechanism we adopt to protect ourselves. We then get into intimate relationships and because that's when we tend to be the most vulnerable, we communicate mainly through our defaulted defense. Communication is key, but it's also about building trust. Feeling safe. When you can trust/feel safe with each other, you listen better, which just leads to better communication... but you have to find someone capable and willing to work through that with you.
Jared has always been able to vocalize and articulate himself really well but I don't think I've ever heard him talk about the love and support he gets from Shan quite in this way before 🥹. that was beautiful yall. I think I remember Shan mentioning in a past video how she was hoping Jared might open up more in this way and this was it. I truly love to see the development.
As Jared brought up abandonment and Shan asked what helped Jared move through abandonment in their relationship - it made me think of the significance of rupture and repair. it’s molding every part of your life as you move through it, something is always evolving - and sometimes that’s moving with or away from each other. And with each moment of rupture/repair - I’ve watched you both move through. Your “rupture and repair” account is PHAT.
As parents and a couple you’ll learn there’s seasons for everything. But it can get better when you actively bring the lessons you’ve learned forward. Because the little ones aren’t little forever.
I’m not even done with this video but I just needed to express how much I love y’all. I have been watching you together since the very beginning’s of your relationship and the way you put into words intimacy and navigating relationships and just are able to model healthy communication has always been such a beautiful thing to witness and it truly does inspire me. You help me believe in the love and the possibility of creating and recreating a life you love over and over again. Thank you Shan and Jared for being you and sharing with us. You are both amazing and even more incredible together. Always routing for y’all and this life you’ve created 🤍
The everyday working individual doesnt really have much time on their hands. your job takes a 3rd of your day, your kids/spouse takes another 3rd of your day and then taking care of house duties/arrands takes a 3rd of your day. what time do we really have for ourselves? our days off from our jobs/careers?.... people dont even have time to cook as much for their families or themselves. they have to spend their days off cleaning and catching up. You really have to be on a schedule and intentional to make it all work out to your benefit! you have barely any time to pause! gotta make good decisions in order to work on your self/health and hobbie/dreams!
12:25 I respect and appreciate this level of humility, spoken honestly on a platform like yours. Not a lot of people are willing to not only admit this but heal with your partner and grow together... and you said it so casually an I feel like that's the most important part because it doesn't have to be some terrible "Oh no I'm so toxic"😂 it's like acknowledge it and apply the "know better, do better" attitude, nobody's got their sh.t but some love play pretend.
Only a few minutes in to the episode but just wanted to say, thank you for this Podcast. Something in the RUclips algorithm put this podcast in my feed a few days ago and I went all the way back to the beginning of this channel and been binging it since. I love the different topics and guests but also love solo episodes or the episodes of just the 2 of you. I really appreciate your honesty and candidness on so many topics. Excited to continue listening and watching 💕💕💕
4 1/2 years in my relationship now and phew that shit is challenging to make it work after so long. It’s so refreshing to hear other couple with time in talk about the struggles so I know it’s not just me
Thank you so much for being transparent about business and how it is to reboot over and over again! (I’m using that for now on btw) I own a brick and mortar store and I feel like I go through this and like you said always come back stronger my partner while being in a different industry is so supportive! Thank you for sharing this and being so transparent let me go be mushy with my man
The way y'all speak to and about each other, with such beautiful easiness, gives me HOPE for Love in my 50's!!! Take care of your Lovely Family, Shan and Jared✌🏾❤️❤️❤️❤️
I am HERE for the marriage content. Expecting my second and luckily it’ll be closer to 2 under 3. I can’t remember if it was this one or the Columbia episode, but I felt so *ok* about the fact that we don’t sleep in the same bed right now either. To hear a sex and relationship expert say it’s ok to go however long without physical intimacy lessened a lot of fears society will instill. And hearing how you communicate with one another, choose one another - SO refreshing. I’m still trying to break patterns of attacking my husband when I’m overwhelmed rather than seeing him as my partner and life raft. So thank you for modeling a beautiful and harmonious marriage in arguably one of the most difficult times.
This episode was sooo honest, refreshing, wholesome, engaging, encouraging and loving. Much #respect and #goals for everyone in a (or aspiring to be in a) relationship. Jared, your PICK A SIDE et al is/are fi-i-iyahhh!!!🔥🔥🔥🔥❤🔥❤🔥❤🔥❤🔥
I love you two so much. I love this content. Makes me reflect on myself and how I can be better partner to my own person. I love the way you chose to love one another. Beautiful Shan. I love me so Jared also, he's always so honest and articulate but speaks from a place of love. Sanithandi.
Thank you so much for being so incredibly transparent! This episode is the reason that we all or at least me, fell in love with you, the both of you! We fell in love with your journey together in life. You do it with so much grace and love for each other. It's so encouraging and beautiful to see and watch. Thank you a million times over. Sending you and your family love, light, and joy ❤
I adore you both and in 16hours you have 10K views. I hope for continued growth and abundance. I really enjoy Jared's music and hope he gets all the awards, recognition his hearts desire. I so appreciate these healthy conversations.
it makes me mad because i feel like the reason jared hasn’t blown up is because he’s not fucking toxic and is an actually emotionally and spiritually aware man lmao
This was such a great and needed episode. It reminded me of the work I (we) all still have to do. That lean in vs lash out, is real. Having kids can elevate this. You both are always so honest and raw and it is so appreciated. This episode make me realize quite a bit in an impactful way. Thank you thank you!
2:43 working moms was maybe a thing back in the day where kids are in school and daycare all day and moms where are at work 9-5 and trafficking wasn’t a prevalent scary reality. That consistent schedule was a blessing. I was in daycare at 6 weeks.
I'm feeling the same vibe from you than at one point we had about will and jada. Super reflective and mature... But at the same time with some "modern" ideas thrown by Shan. I feel for Jared, I perceive is hard for him to keep up with this image of aware husband, the vibe is very idealistic in this video.
My daughter and husband have a biggest problem with me because they don’t see me cry my daughters 19 and just saw me cry last year. Situation has to be dire and unfixable to bring me to tears.
Me and my husband are literally in the same boat we both work full time we run businesses and passion projects we have two kids that need us in very different ways but they are slowly coming together and we know we can count on each other 10000 percent I love him ❤
18:04 so I wonder if the open relationship style truly worked for (both of) them. It doesn't seem that it works for people like me and Jared that have dealt with abandonment issues.

This relationship is so inspiring. Just exudes true partnership.

It is so refreshing to watch real people do real talk ❤ you guys are doing great.
Love from Colombia.
As parents and a couple you’ll learn there’s seasons for everything. But it can get better when you actively bring the lessons you’ve learned forward. Because the little ones aren’t little forever.
I LOVE HIS SONG “pick a side”❤ me and my boyfriend listen to it in the car and act like we are singing to each other 😂😭😍😊

i already listened to this episode audibly yesterday, i came back to watch Jared get misty and appreciate this more. love y'all!
Totally agree. My son's first year he was often sick and I had to work from home, but that's truly not working. 😊
Jared is so right about *some kids*. I'm a nanny and can confirm that. Some kids are just toughhhh. Some are easy 😌
I love how you two talk about real life topics. You two love for each other is sweet to see ❤❤
It’s so refreshing when i see you two together. It’s the vulnerability and articulation for me!
“Delectable” is a word I’m going to start using more often.
love love love this podcast thank you so much you two for your vulnerability and honesty. It is more appreciated than you know

Jared's growth as a human is so beautiful
I wish this was longer. I always enjoy y’all’s interactions. Such a beautiful couple. Wishing you two a lifetime of happiness and love.

You two together ! 💛
it makes me mad because i feel like the reason jared hasn’t blown up is because he’s not fucking toxic and is an actually emotionally and spiritually aware man lmao
and if he is shitty, he knows it. like y’all’s relationship is too far ahead
and people don’t get what healthy communication and self interrogation actually is
This was such a great and needed episode. It reminded me of the work I (we) all still have to do. That lean in vs lash out, is real. Having kids can elevate this. You both are always so honest and raw and it is so appreciated. This episode make me realize quite a bit in an impactful way. Thank you thank you!
5-6 mins in and already 😭😭😭😭😭 balling!!!!
The devotion and love you both have for one another is truly an inspiration ❤️
Beautiful episode! Love the conversations between you and Jared ❤
yeah, we need more episodes like this.
2:43 working moms was maybe a thing back in the day where kids are in school and daycare all day and moms where are at work 9-5 and trafficking wasn’t a prevalent scary reality.
That consistent schedule was a blessing. I was in daycare at 6 weeks.
love this podcast. and of course your love & transparency. dope!!
Glad I got this suggestion

My daughter and husband have a biggest problem with me because they don’t see me cry my daughters 19 and just saw me cry last year. Situation has to be dire and unfixable to bring me to tears.
8 mins in and I’m balling lmao oh gosh I love y’all
Immglad a couple is happy authentically.
You and Jared have a relationship one can only dream of 🌹sometimes I really do wish I were “normal” and had the chance of love somewhat like this. 🌈
Uggghhh this is so good
She said! I’m ruining it!! Lol awww
You can only be a working mum with support, or just accepting that it won’t be easy until the children get past the age of 5
Love this podcast 🎉
Did he just cry and then it went to a sponsor ad what why lmao
Showing support
Great episode ❤

Me and my husband are literally in the same boat we both work full time we run businesses and passion projects we have two kids that need us in very different ways but they are slowly coming together and we know we can count on each other 10000 percent I love him ❤
Can you do couples counseling as another project in your life?
I love when it’s u both❤❤❤
18:04 so I wonder if the open relationship style truly worked for (both of) them. It doesn't seem that it works for people like me and Jared that have dealt with abandonment issues.
Yay!!!!!
1:50 Husbands making sense when you dont need them to lol
