yeah loved that too. watched two episodes of s4 so far and both have been about simulation - this episode and Hang the DJ. seems like reoccurring theme and thats good cause its very interesting topic. some of the best episodes in the past have been also about simulation: White Christmas and San Junipero.
This trailer did a good job of telling us absolutely nothing about what was going to happen. I went into this episode not expecting all that much but oh my god. It ended up becoming my favorite of the entire series.
The ending was a bit stupid though. He's god in there yet magically lost those powers when the crew made a run for the black hole. Just end game or override the ship.
person8203 not necessarily, think matrix. Neo had all that power but even he couldn't be two places at once. In a man made construct there are still rules, even Daly had to abide by them. In his hubris he didn't anticipate the combined brilliance or hell, resolve, that they would have to outwit him.
person8203 still bound by rules. He might have made himself omnipotent to a degree. But he is still human. Same weaknesses and fallibilities as any man. And they were very well exploited.
Affasss I agree my definite favorite season 4 episode, loved how many genres it covers, from drama, action, sci-fi, suspense, and some amazing production values and great performances
I've only seen a few episodes of this show - and it was over this weekend, but this one stood out for me. It was a very well put together story. I'm suprised to hear so much about that San Junipero episode. There really was't much to it. This episode had me actually caring about what happened.
*NO SPOILERS* This episode was stellar. The special effects, the actors, and the plot were amazing. It combines a sci-fi adventure and gives it the “Black mirror treatment”. It’s still dark, but the dark theme doesn’t overcome the other elements of the episode. It’s surprisingly has some humor, and the characters seem relaxed rather than sad and moody the whole time. I still haven’t seen the other episodes yet, but this is by far one of my favorite ones. Great way to start the season! :))
THIS IS MY FAVORITE EPISODE, Literally the best, next to White Christmas with Jon Hamm. I loved this episode and hope to see more cinematic episodes that evoke color!
it's going to look like a dumb star trek reference episode but it's going to have a huge plot twist, a super creppy back story and it's going to shock everyone
San Junipero all the way. My single favorite hour of television I've ever watched. Maybe it helps that I graduated high school in '88 and am currently looking death in the face due to medical issues, but San Junipero haunts my soul.
The "characters" in the game were conscious. They were aware of everything happening to them. They were copies of actual humans. At what point is a direct copy no longer treated as human?
MrJackhonda even if he was treated like shit, he has no right to stole their DNA and trap them in a game. So I think he deserved it and for me it‘s a happy ending
Yep. It's almost as dark as White Christmas... Well, not almost... It's CLOSE. It's pretty much the same concept as White Christmas, but it's honestly a better episode SOMEHOW. This is the best episode in the series imo next to 15 Million Merits, Entire History of You, and of course... White Christmas.. But it definitely steals the main concepts from White Christmas.
It might feel a little like that season 1 episode 2 story (what was it called again? 2 million credits?), all techni-colour and fantastical at first. Or maybe a little like San Junipero, where you're thrust into a weird world, with a darker reality behind it all
I feel this is an Cosplay/RolePlay Virtual Plataform or something like that. I need to see the Black Mirror twist that come with this amazing Star Trek Tribute
Wasn't there a rumor that one of the episodes this season would be a sequel of sorts to San Junipero? This is the one out of the six that appears most like it could be set in a VR world. Maybe this will be BM's commentary on toxic gamer culture.
It depends what you call a happy end. The 'crew' are still forced to live indefinitely in an artificial world with no real purpose, never able to die or return to their old lives. At least they have their genitals back so it might not be completely boring.
Yeah they wont be able to ever die. However their universe is infinite as well so they can travel forever. And its much better that way instead of being forced to repeat the same story under some crazy modder.
I think the twist on this is going to be that everything is just a TV show or a video game, but the main characters are not aware of it. Sort of like the Truman Show. This episode will probably be a take on our increased addiction to digital entertainment and the ethical boundaries we are willing to cross for it. This is one of the episode I am looking forward to most. I love Star Trek and Black Mirror.
I love how it adds one or two hints that it's not entirely fun-times-in-spaceland of an episode. Nice foreshadowing while still throwing a curve ball for those who watch the episode after seeing this.
toby haynes is an amazing director, he directed some of the best episodes of doctor who, he made jonathan strange and mr norrel, this black mirror episode, and he's directing sandman.
That chick in the blue that looks so lost is definitely the main person in this episode. Seems to be she has no idea where she is.. Can't wait for the new season.
I am most likely very wrong but black mirror always features an awesome dark twist so I’ll attempt a guess. The USS CALLISTER was a popular show (like OG Star Trek) and in the future they reboot it. The twist is that the people making the reboot of USS CALLISTER have somehow used technology to replicate or revive dead actors/actresses from the original USS CALLISTER. Like always, something goes terribly wrong and the revived stars start dying during the reboot of the show. Just a fun idea. I hope this season is as good as the last three!
Guys, the literal theme of this episode is how people in higher positions can abuse their power and get away with it; while others regard them with the respect that comes with that power.
*Spoiler Alert* But am i the only one who thought since the real Nanette at the end had snuck into Daly's apartment and ordered pizza to his apartment through her phone that if the police would to ever find out some way she'd be considered a suspect for murder (not sure if Daly died at the end or just got trapped in the game but lets say he did die) idk just a thought
already watched the episode and reading your comment makes me realize that how weird is seing a total douche (in a virtual reality) but in a "safe space" where his actions doesnt have impact in real life and the guy can be the twisted fucker he is and nobody pays for that, and virtual conciousness whith a human sense of life and sanity, get desperate at the point of put in danger of life an actual real human, and manipulates another one and make her part of and assault (and maybe death?) Even when they know (virtual people) their real ones doesnt even know all this
Not to mention the virtual ones keep in a virtual world with no escape and after the relieve of the escape the happy faces will vanish down and after all they have to live and pretend to be in another world with no purpose at all (sorry i really like this episode xD)
I like how the trailer didn't reveal the actual plot. The episode was way better than I thought it would be.
yeah loved that too. watched two episodes of s4 so far and both have been about simulation - this episode and Hang the DJ. seems like reoccurring theme and thats good cause its very interesting topic. some of the best episodes in the past have been also about simulation: White Christmas and San Junipero.
Best episode ever
A lot fucking better
JetsFan123 was messed up :)
Alex B omg I LOVED SAN JUNIPERO! One of the best episodes ever!
This trailer did a good job of telling us absolutely nothing about what was going to happen. I went into this episode not expecting all that much but oh my god. It ended up becoming my favorite of the entire series.
I went in expecting a lot and was still impressed, also my favorite ep now.
Me too..!!!
same here
First episode I watched of the series and became my instant favorite.
@@loneranger7271 me too haha
Man all these trailers look so normal and we all know how tragic its going to be.
v1d300 true
v1d300 Yup.
Not necessarily. With how well San Junipero was received they may do more fun episodes.
Killateral San Junipero was shit.... wtf are you talking about???
It was alright, but thats the episode of Black Mirror that got picked for all the award shows and won.
I'm so happy the trailer didn't show the actual episode. It was so surprising!!
Okay I was not expecting this episode to be that great. Fucking WOW. They have done it again.
What did you like about it? I'm looking for something good.
silversaint just watch it, can’t say much without spoiling. It is one of their best episodes, for sure
Ha, I have watched it and I think it's the dumbest thing I've seen so far. That's why I'm here looking for people who got something different from it.
silversaint is this your first Black Mirror episode ?
No, just the first of this season.
Imagine if there was no twist. It was just an actual Star Trek parody to throw people off...
USS Kevin McAllister
Directed by M. Night Shamyalan
You're probably kinda right... my money's on star trek parody with one self aware character because reasons.
They should do that on April fools
LOL
and yet people would probably over analyze it and find the "deeper" meaning
Watch this be the most fucked up episode of the season
Clifton Holliday oh you know it. It’s a space episode
Watch them actually be trapped in a TV show or something.
the c.f.a. that sounds like don't hug me in scared
This and Black Museum are the ones I am most excited for. Also Metal Head, which look sick in the trailer.
it is
Vanilla latte, skimmed milk. Please.
For he’s a jolly good fellow. For he’s a jollow good- Oh my fuck

Think Story Dammit! I rushed to the comments section to make that joke.
father*
YES
Better ending than the show
This episode was fucking brilliant
Alphaplayer 1 omg yaass
The ending was a bit stupid though. He's god in there yet magically lost those powers when the crew made a run for the black hole. Just end game or override the ship.
person8203 not necessarily, think matrix. Neo had all that power but even he couldn't be two places at once. In a man made construct there are still rules, even Daly had to abide by them. In his hubris he didn't anticipate the combined brilliance or hell, resolve, that they would have to outwit him.
Zachary - Neo didn't build the matrix though. The captain guy was the admin of his own world.
person8203 still bound by rules. He might have made himself omnipotent to a degree. But he is still human. Same weaknesses and fallibilities as any man. And they were very well exploited.
Who already watched? Its insane.
Affasss I agree my definite favorite season 4 episode, loved how many genres it covers, from drama, action, sci-fi, suspense, and some amazing production values and great performances

I did loved its Star Trek original series vibes
Me 👋

Definitely major trolling going on here, can't wait for the episode.
I'm gonna guess it's VR

THIS IS MY FAVORITE EPISODE, Literally the best, next to White Christmas with Jon Hamm. I loved this episode and hope to see more cinematic episodes that evoke color!
Funny you mention white christmas because this episode really reminded me of white christmas.
Astral Cosmos Celestial the Third At least the heroes won lol
it's going to look like a dumb star trek reference episode but it's going to have a huge plot twist, a super creppy back story and it's going to shock everyone
Apparently this episode was screened for the media and they said it might be the best episode yet
Gay Crow like White bear or something?
James Thompson what do you mean for the media?
unpopularvoid as in journalists and critics
Creepy nerd mind controlling them to live out his fantasies? Or they can’t escape a VR simulation?
San Junipero+White Christmas+Playtest= USS Callister....EXTREMELY DARK FILM.
10/10.
Muyanzi Reid +a little bit of shut up and dance too
San Junipero all the way. My single favorite hour of television I've ever watched. Maybe it helps that I graduated high school in '88 and am currently looking death in the face due to medical issues, but San Junipero haunts my soul.
A black mirror episode.. that looks funny? Impossible
Ciannaic Hang the DJ looked pretty funny too. Well just have to wait for the dark undertones.
the waldo moment
don't worry, it will be funny up until a point and then it will become the most fucked up episode of black mirror ever
Neither this or Waldo look funny.
Yeah the ending is pretty fucked up....
this episode fucked me up so good. such a clever twist
Holy shit that looks WILD. I think it's probably virtual reality combined with star trek and a satire of hero culture
No. The captain is somehow trapping all the other crewmembers onboard and is somehow controlling reality.
Burrito Gamer Yup, all of it a blatant rip off of Galaxy Quest.
Is nobody gonna mention wtf was going on at 0:22?
when he's in the ship solo, he reminds me of vader flying on his own...Either he's on a rogue mission or Daly revealed himself as bad
Teleporter
My favourite episode of Black Mirror so far, only just started the 4th season though
Same
This episode low key sucked ass
I liked it too, but you think it beats San Junipero? Really? San Junipero was an absolute masterpiece.
Yeah, this episode is great
Dan Williams San Junipero and metalhead are by far the worst episodes of black mirror
This was actually such a great episode.
It was sooo good. Finally a happy end
MrJackhonda Are you stupid or..?
The "characters" in the game were conscious. They were aware of everything happening to them. They were copies of actual humans. At what point is a direct copy no longer treated as human?
MrJackhonda even if he was treated like shit, he has no right to stole their DNA and trap them in a game. So I think he deserved it and for me it‘s a happy ending
This episode just sky-rocketed to my top 5 favorite Black Mirror episodes.
Never thought I would hear Jessie pinkman in the end of this episode
Daniel Nikolaev was hoping him to yell "bitch" tho
cEystooooooootHeviP I guess he prefers games over drugs now
i've only watched this episode so far, but damn it was so fvcking good
Even cooler when you realize it's about a real game called Star Citizen.
Same- thought I was watching season 1 ep 1 but it turned out to be this episode and it was amazing
Netflix this is bullying, give us the release date
Dump Vids Fucking hate getting cyber bullied by Netflix.

You know, seeing this trailer. I was like, wtf is this gonna be about. Will it suck? And boy... was I wrong.
This episode is going to have the darkest twist.
That one jaded girl is in a coma, or close to death - or having a vivid hallucination of her favourite childhood show.
THAT ISNT DARK ENOUGH TO SATISFY MY NEEDS!!!
Like every episode
This episode will probably end up being the darkest one lol!!!!
it is
Versace Pancakes I'm guessing they're all a simulation and the captain is the only real person. If they don't satisfy his fantasies then they die.
shhhhhhhhhh
Jason Marchant how do you know this?
But it definitely steals the main concepts from White Christmas.
i love rewatching this episode, they knocked it out of the park
Already one of my favourite episodes of the entire series. It's mental!
This episode was amazing!
This episode was so good. Way better than the trailer for obvious reasons.
Henry Skudder they made it look weird, different, "bad" so we'll love it more.
"One, our guns don't even work. And two, the motherfucker is invinsible" 😁😁😁
Invincible*
Jack Sparrow true
...At least you got a gun.
God. The episode was just brilliant.
In what way?
Pls, make USS Callister series!!!!!
If you want an uss callister series just go watch star trek lol
Literally the best Black Mirror episode of all time.
Boy was I wrong when I thought this was gonna be the "light" episode of the season
I really thought this episode was gonna be boring, but goodness, it was the best of the season.
Best of them all to me. Very fun and twisted
Anyone else think it was gonna end up being awful but it turned out to be amazing?
I did say, "What the fuck is this?" Oh, boy, I was wrong.
Yeah i thought it would be some really bad cheesy comedy but the twist turned it into so much more
"That's right: king of space. King of space."
Lol, that cracked me up.
I just finish watching this episode . It was better than what I expected. 🎉
Looks so cuuuute until it becomes the darkest episode of them all
Junior Matsuda Knowing this show, yes
It might feel a little like that season 1 episode 2 story (what was it called again? 2 million credits?), all techni-colour and fantastical at first. Or maybe a little like San Junipero, where you're thrust into a weird world, with a darker reality behind it all
You already know this episode is going to have some absolutely FUCKED up twist
There's more to this episode than many think.
Like white bear.. damn that was fucked up.
Priceless23 what made you think that? Obviously it will you dumb fuck
Arthur Tregenna Yeah! Great definition of an eye for an eye, and the whole world goes blind. Men Against Fire was also a massive mind fuck as well.
Howard Wen spot on. No prize though
This was def the most entertaining episode so far
I was also just waiting for a sad ending, but I'm so glad they turned it around on us
just watched the episode its fucking amazing better of most movies out there now imo
Strange to see a black mirror episode with a happy end
Depends on what you value more. The life of an actual human being or some codes that have the mental capacity of humans.
It depends what you call a happy end. The 'crew' are still forced to live indefinitely in an artificial world with no real purpose, never able to die or return to their old lives. At least they have their genitals back so it might not be completely boring.
Only for the characters who deserve one, not the original protagonist. I agree though.
Yeah they wont be able to ever die. However their universe is infinite as well so they can travel forever. And its much better that way instead of being forced to repeat the same story under some crazy modder.
The game will disappear one day, it can be closed in the future, or disappear with the end of humanity so they will have just a very long life :)
My fav episode of the series hands down
Mine too
Aayyyye
I think the twist on this is going to be that everything is just a TV show or a video game, but the main characters are not aware of it. Sort of like the Truman Show. This episode will probably be a take on our increased addiction to digital entertainment and the ethical boundaries we are willing to cross for it.
This is one of the episode I am looking forward to most. I love Star Trek and Black Mirror.
Did you watch it yet??? If so, what did you think?
Victoria McIntyre i just saw it, one of my favorite episodes so far
Wow. Loved it!!! Went from a funny Trek (or Orville?) parody to VERY dark concept... perfectly.
This was one of the coolest things I have ever fucking seen on TV
You know something fucked up always happens
That is what Black Mirror is about
this had a good ending tho 😂😂
Spoiler:
rogue Ai Killed the player in this EPIC mod :D
This is one of my favourite episodes. It was the sleeper hit of my black mirror playlist
This was the best black mirror episode till date. Brilliant commentary on toxic masculinity in nerd culture, funny, AND had a (kind of) happy ending.
I love how it adds one or two hints that it's not entirely fun-times-in-spaceland of an episode. Nice foreshadowing while still throwing a curve ball for those who watch the episode after seeing this.
WHAT!? This season is going to be mind-blowing.
I have to say this episode was a f*cking masterpiece
mrs mosby didn't died
she just went in space
I think there's rumors for a sequel in 2025 and I am so looking forward to it!
I hoped we were going to have a release date on this last episode trailer.

All I can say about this episode is that final twist will be very hard.
TheVideoKeeper and you know this how?
How do you know, you hav'nt watched it??
everything is fun and games until it twist to dark turns.
toby haynes is an amazing director, he directed some of the best episodes of doctor who, he made jonathan strange and mr norrel, this black mirror episode, and he's directing sandman.
Watched it for the first time last night and again today. By far my favorite episode.
@Scottf929 I'll have to rewatch those☺
My favourite episode so far
"Packer, we ready to fly?"
"Uh-huh."

"You're supposed to say something like "engage" or "increase thrust."
"Just fucking go."
My favorite episode
That chick in the blue that looks so lost is definitely the main person in this episode. Seems to be she has no idea where she is.. Can't wait for the new season.
I've only watched this one, but it's so fucking good.
The audio quality makes me think this clip is a flashback or dream of some sort... god i can’t wait to see the whole thing. Charlie is a genius
My drug is back.
I"m so excited I can't even think. What a wonderful gift right in the middle of that cozy downtime between Christmas and New Years.
One of the best episode of the show
truly my favourite episode of the entire series to this day!!! i hope a spin-off based on this really does go ahead as planned
Watch this one be a TV show in a TV show.
That's what I'm thinking.
They already did that. White Bear.
God I hope it is a new TV show because after STD star trek is dead but its spirit lives on in the Orville and now USS Callister.
cinema peaked here
wow this literally was a perfect trailer, gave nothing away
This was FANTASTIC.
This episode just made me want to rewatch the original Star Trek xD I really liked it 👏
BEST EPISODE SO FAR !!!!
You can't fool me you're going to kill the mother aren't you?
mriee nah
The monster is just poor Jenny over in customer service...
(I don't remember what her name was, don't crucify me you fucking google trivia-lords)
Damn I was wrong
Aaron Paul's voice in the end of this episode was icing on the cake ❤
Todd? Is that you? Well, I have a job for you.
This episode was so amazing! It’s not what I expect when seeing the trailer. Black Mirror really outdone themselves
Great episode, some plot holes but still great point you guys made, thanks Netflix!
I bow to you Mr. Netflix ... one of the best episodes. Thank you.
Was this episode beyond beautiful or what
I am most likely very wrong but black mirror always features an awesome dark twist so I’ll attempt a guess.
Totally _Black Mirror_ .
Amazing episode ♥
Guys, the literal theme of this episode is how people in higher positions can abuse their power and get away with it; while others regard them with the respect that comes with that power.
I LOVED THIS EPISODE
Man this movie got me last night. Amazing. you can't predict Black Mirror movie, until you watch it.
*Spoiler Alert*
But am i the only one who thought since the real Nanette at the end had snuck into Daly's apartment and ordered pizza to his apartment through her phone that if the police would to ever find out some way she'd be considered a suspect for murder (not sure if Daly died at the end or just got trapped in the game but lets say he did die) idk just a thought
