I guess people haven't grasped the concept of "a built engine" or weighting 3,200 lbs and having 800-850 wheel horsepower which is over 1000 to the crank. So I would expect the lighter built tt-rs to win.

That 5 cylinder basically defies science at only 2.5 liters in displacement. Not like a big turbo Honda with a big hit of power up top only. Makes power through the midrange too. Sick car and engineering behind it.

Jesus fkn Christ! That was one of the most impressive races I’ve seen! That Audi is an animal. To beat a Plaid is saying something. Props to both drivers, absolutely no shame here. The Ttrs was pulling like a rocket on the top end. Even if the Plaid had the 200 mph update there was no catching the Audi. I’m saying this and am a Tesla owner (my dd)
Lol plaid is the new benchmark. And it’s safe to say it’s pretty consistent because they all make the same power. Would be interesting if there were ways to upgrade them. Sadly Tesla is very against it. I can’t imagine them even faster in addition to the 200mph limiter xD

160 or 200 or 220, makes no difference to me.
There isn't anything stock faster to 160 which covers 99.9999999% of situations you will ever come across and certainly any legal situation.
There will always be something or someone that is faster, yet any comparison needs to be taken into context.
I have a RS3, i track it, i love it. But i also like Teslas and acknowledge what they can do and what this new electrified world can bring.
I have been following iroz for a long time, they have had a rs3 in the 8s@160+ for nearly 2 years.
It's not hard to beat a plaid, you just need something that can run 8s@155+ and get ideal launching. There is lot's of those cars out there, they have all had significant work done, or are modded hypercars or are extremely compromised or extremely old, or non street legal.

Get ready to see more and more of this. Everyday car fans know what the fast guys have always known - that it doesn't take magic to run a Plaid. Yeah a bolt-on 5.0 isn't going to do it, but a 900+ whp V8 on a good tire (even RWD) is going to give a Plaid fits on a roll. Good AWD cars (911 turbo, TTRS/RS3, etc.) will give them trouble from a dig or a roll. Elon better get that update out soon.....
