wow...this was so nice :) yes, m with you on the "therapeutic" thing :)...I love to make incense as well...however, makko is too expensive for me so I just use and wood dust as a base...mostly sandalwood and tragacanth gum for binder...yes, I too stick my hands there as you can see in my videos :D
Hi! I have a question- I’ve decided not to burn sage out of respect for traditional Native American practices, as a lot of the sage industry is mass-produced and is used in non-ritual settings. I have some incense (which I use for meditation and to improve the overall vibe of the room). I was thinking of ordering white sage incense, but am unsure if this contributes to the industry that i’m trying to avoid. I don’t know if the oils in the product are also sourced in the same way- Would it be in my best interest not to buy this incense? If anyone has any thoughts/opinions on the subject, please feel free to comment. Thanks for the video!🕸🖤
White Sage is as I understand a no go. However there are many non-endagered varieties of sage you can utilize instead. Simple garden sage if you want to grow and dry your own. A quick bit of research will give you some scientific names and information too so you can know which varieties to look for!
White sage is the sage used for Native American Indian ceremonies. Not all types of sage should be used for smudging or incense as they are not all good to inhale. However, if you are concerned about ethical practices of growers, why not just grow your own? It's just an herb, you can grow them in pots, even.
Um I'm native american in sw, we don't use white sage, we use basin sagebrush for cleansing and consuming, there's no shortage if you venture outside and get it yourself, it's fine. Also, this is the first time I've heard about white sage only use for native Americans, this is new 🤔.

Lol, I'm just happy you're enjoying my videos so much! Binge on!🙂👍
How fun! Where do you buy your makko powder?
I bought it on eBay, but you could try your local metaphysical shop.
Could other herbs be substituted for the sage? Like rosemary or rose petals?
Sure! Experimenting with different ingredients is half the fun of making your own incense! Thanks for watching!🙂
Does the makko powder have a scent once burning?
Yes, atleast this particular one does, but I find that when I burn it, it doesn't really come out that much at all. Thanks for watching!
