This is one happy guy. Reminds me of my grandpa. He passed last year and as his health declined, all he cared about making sure everyone knew exactly how he feels about them. I've never seen such honesty and pure love. I was on tdy for the AirForce and they flew me home and I was able to spend a few days with him. I wasn't able to stay long enough to see him off to the pearly gates. As I left for the last time he broke his almost 5 hour silence to tell me he's proud of me, loves me, and he'll save me a seat when he gets there.
Hi Patrick, I'm just seeing this video at the end of 2024, and I'm so glad that you are okay, and hopefully doing very well. I often watch your soapmaking videos and have bought several products from your shop. Wow, you seem to know how to craft everything because now you are going to teach me how to make incense too! I hope that you make even more videos in 2025. Happy Holidays!
Patrick you are a man of many talents, I watch around 25-30 channels and you are the first utube site that has such a wide content list. You are a man I admire there doesn't seem to be a product that you cant turn your hand to. This is the first time I've ever seen these made. Wow what a frightening experience, a chimney fire can be devastating. The fire alarm going off at anytime makes my heart beat faster
Thank you Tanya, that's so kind of you to say. I love doing a lot of different things and love sharing them with you as much. Yes I was very fortunate that I were able to get it out easily, it could have turned out much differently
OMGosh! How scary for you and your kitties! A similar occurrence happened back in 82' to my sister and myself. We were living in an older ranch house. It was smoldering pretty badly and we called the fire department. They were able to get it stopped because we caught it fast enough. We had to have chimney cleaned and fixed, of course. Thank Goodness, you woke up in time. So thankful it turned out ok for you. What a wonderful way to make those cones. My grandpa had one of those little cabins that he would burn tiny cones in that smelled like pine and you reminded me of that. Blessings!
Cheryl, it sounds like you understand the fear of that scary event as well, so glad it turned out well for us both. You know I remember those little cabins, the chimney would smoke with the incense, thanks for the memory boost :)
Thank goodness you are ok and Berry and the cats and the homestead are in one piece! Chimney fires can be very scary and dangerous. I’m so happy to hear how well you handled the situation. Thank you for being prepared! To loose you would be a HUGE loss to so many Patrick! Thank you for sharing and reminding us all how easily things can go wrong and to be prepared the best we can to deal with it. Thank you as well for sharing your incense, it is not something I have made previously and may well try my hand at now.
i wildcrafted sap a year ago and have tried drying small bits of it and also freezing small bits to crush with a mortar and pestle, but it's still gummy. How did you powder your resin please? Thank you.
Oh my goodness Patrick. What a scare that must have been. It certainly wasn't your time and I'm so thankful for that. I'm glad you kept your wits about you and were able to put that fire out. Wow. I have never made incense but you know what, I think I'll give it a try. Sending much love to you always brother. Big hugs.
Fires like that can be so devastating to you, I am so happy that you are okay and I hope the damages are not to bad. I love this demo, I bet this smells divine
Dear Patrick I am glad you are ok. Chimney sweeping is not a choice in my country. They come round once a year whether ordered to or not, and clean your chimneys. I never thought about it even. Thanks for sharing yet another fascinating recipe with us. I'm always intrigued how you get things ground down so well......
@@SoapyOaksFarm Juniper smoke was once used for ritual purification of temples. It is also known as the "tree of the Sun". It is my plan to eventually build a Sun temple in the woods and burn juniper there.
I am so pleased to hear you were quick thinking with your fire. Fire is one of the only "natural" disasters that scare me - we have so many fires here in Australia at the moment that we have out action plans in place should our area catch on fire. I love incense cones. I've never seen them handmade before
I'm so glad you and your house is ok and you had your head on your shoulders tight to help you remember how to stop the fire. For the recipe you said you can add essential oils is there a suggested safe ratio for incense?
Oh Pat. You are doing too much, thank goodness you woke up. Today's job list starts with, sweep the chimney. Good thing Santa not due for a few more weeks or he would have singed his whiskers!! Keep well my darling. X x x
hi Kath, will you know I assume that when Santa slid down the chimney each year that it automatically got cleaned but he hasn't visited my home in about 10 years so that may be why.
You must be on the nice list and he just needs to polish his glasses. Funnily enough, he hasn't found my name either but Ken gets a good sack full of goodies. Very strange. X x x
lovely, making cedar incense has been on my mind lately so this will get me actually going on it. I do have a Western Red Cedar tree in my back yard but not a juniper sadly, haven't been able to find many around here but also have a pine tree so need to learn how to make resin like you did. Glad that you are ok, have had my own scare with an oil fire, luckily it was snowing outside at the time and i opened up the window threw the pan outside then ran round the backdoor, when i opened it the fire chased me outside and that was it. I have severe social phobia so the whole time i was thinking i had to put it out myself because i didn't want to call the fire department hah. but everything worked out, just had to repaint the kitchen.
Hi Ophelia, making a small knife cut (clean blade) in branch will encourage the tree to send resin to the wound to heal it, as it dries, you can removed pieces of it, melt in in double boiler, remove any debris, and then use it in your formulas. So sorry about your oil fire, how frightening. I know from others that social phobias can be quite serious and its my wish you find help if you seek it. Big hugs
OMG! Patrick how scary! Thank God you are ok! Thank God you had the intelligence to remedy the situation. Oh My! That is really a scary thought. I am so thankful that you are safe and your home is safe. On the other hand the incense. I'm beginning to think there is nothing you can't make. Lol :D You really amaze me with all you know.
Glad to see you are alright and all your animals too. Good smart thinking ahead of buying the fire extinguishers and the detectors!! I know if there was a fire here the first thing all my family members are grabbing and taking feet with is there MONEY!!! LOL!!! Very similar to how bath bombs are made except you can burn these for aroma in your home. I go through incenses like water here! Great video Patrick and again always glad to see you.❤️🙏🙏👌👌👌👌☕🐃🐔🐾🚒👨🚒
Oh my God Patrick please be careful I could imagine how scared you were my God and your babies thank God your babies and you are okay I would miss you if something happened to all of you your like family to me GodBless You Always And Your Babies Amen !!! 🙏🏽Thankyou for sharing love incense 🥰💕💋🙏🏽🌹
Thank God you and your home were spared from tragedy and disaster. I was robbed at gun point by a dope head 6 weeks ago and my gun was stolen. He used it to shoot at Police and they shot him dead. I still think about what could have happened, but didn't. I also enjoyed the tutorial. See you next time, my friend.
Oh wow Eric I'm so sorry to hear that, how frightening that must have been. I'm just so glad you weren't hurt. At least not physically, I'm sure that might have had some effect on your way of thinking though.
I bet that smells wonderful. I love the smells of nature. I used to burn incense all the time. Sadly I use oxygen so I can't have any open flames. I have to use wax melts and it just isn't the same. Oh but I bet that smells good. Enjoy it for me Patrick. I always wanted to learn how to make it. Thanks for showing us how. Take care
I am lucky, many are not. PLEASE Clean your chimneys and stove pipes, keep your fire alarms working and have a fire extinguisher handy. Thank you
I'm so glad you're okay! That is scary, xo
Thank you so much

Thanks so much Debra, it was a bit scary indeed
Thankfully, everything is okay. Stay safe and stay healthy, Patrick!
Thank you so much Veronica, doing my best
I have that same glass bowl! I found it in an antique shop years ago, and it’s been my favorite mixing bowl ever since.
How do you make the cedar into a fine dust like that?
Hi, I use my Vitamix blender using the grain container, thanks so much.
I’m so glad that you, your fur babies and your home are okay. 💗
Hugs and thanks so much
Super scary! Glad you're okay and were able to think on your feet! Funny you decided to create incense after that happened XD
Thank you so much I really appreciate the kind thoughts. Have a fantastic week
So glad you were able to put the fire out!, and that you're ok!
Thanks so much

My name is Stephanie and I ask you do you use scents
I wonder if my gumdrop mold would work for these? I may have to give it a try.
as long as you pack the stuff in there good and tight, it should be great Jen

Hugs and welcome Elizabeth, it's great to see you
Thank God you're safe. What resin did you use to bind the powders.
Hi, thanks so much, I used pine resin, it works wonderfully with the cedar wood.
What are the ingredients needed to make these incense

That happened to me in 1994 I was 14years old!! Fireplace right by my room.. The chimney hadn't been cleaned since 1700s
Oh my goodness, that was some anxious soot for sure, I'm so glad you came out of that okay.
I'm so happy you are safe. I also see that you are a hot tea drinker. I LOVE hot tea and drink it year around.
Teresa, yes I love tea & Coffee :)
